- I am so excited to share this Cottage Style Home Tour! It has been quite some time since I have shared a full home tour that isn't based on a holiday, and we have done so many updates within the past few years that I felt like it was time!

Your home is gorgeous and you don’t need to mess with perfection. Influencers that constantly change things make me believe that they are not thankful for what they have.
My grandmother used to always say, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”! I totally believe that statement! You have great talent and taste and there’s no need to try to change because it is “what is in”. Your style is what’s in!
I completely agree with you on this. When I got married in 1969 my Grandma said we could look in the attic and were free to take whatever we wanted.My great grandmother had recently died and the attic was full to brimming with her household items so we almost completely furnished our home , except soft furniture like sofa and chairs and mattress. I still have all that furniture and use it in our home. It is mostly all oak in mission style as she had gotten married in 1905. Over the last 55 years it has all been stripped down, repaired and restored as needed. No way we want the fake wood put it together from a box furniture they sell today.
You have a real knack for a beautiful cozy home! Love it! Are you willing for two suggestions? Remove the 3 tier basket in the entry behind the door. It seems to impede true open access, and you have several other basket items with flowers in the area. Instead, on the wall, add an oval dark gold or bronze framed mirror with a bit of scroll design at the top. It will bring in a bit of brightness and will add to the space both visually and floorspace. The other is to remove a dark item that reads “J W” at the end of your kitchen counter by your mixer. Thats a bit of a dark corner, made darker by that item. Replace it with NOTHING. It’s a bit of a cluttered area. I really do love your home! Editor - in more ways than one! 😉

I love your home, it's beautiful , cozy and just relaxing, every time you share a video I just feel it is such a calming space, that anyone who came to visit would just sigh as they walked thru the front door, all troubles forgotten.

Thanks for sharing your very charming lovely English cottage home! You have great taste! I just moved into a beautiful two bedroom/one bath knotty pine English cottage with fireplace and woodburning stove here in New England that is attached to a 19th century carriage house and a large Victorian house built in 1870. Love the English cottage look and also have the white platters and pitchers and cross beams in the living room, dining area and kitchen! Love how you concealed your plasma screen? above the fireplace and love black wrought iron hinges and handles as well! Cheers~♥♥
I sometimes like music only but mostly I prefer a narrative of why, how, where and thought process behind the decor. It's also always nice to hear about your family adventures too. ❤❤

It’s really refreshing to see how polite you are to your comment section! Some people have comment sections and NEVER reply back and I find that to be a turn-off to me.
Anyway, I’m new to your channel and I came across your videos from a random short you had that was about not being in such a rush to change everything all at once. To just take time with home projects and enjoy the journey, without comparing to everyone else! I totally agree!

A beautifully curated home. Love the white chairs pulled away from the wall. I was huge fan of the black chairs and hope they reappear. Don't change for the sake of change though

Yes! If it works leave it! I, too, have a galley kitchen and how I have it set up and decorated works for us. Yes, I change a few things for seasonal decor, from Memorial Day to Sept 30th, my kitchen is very patriotic- though there are just a few items that have the ole red, white and blue, like an Uncle Sam figurine, a small print of a July 4th parade (Norman Rockwell), my towels are striped ticking with red, white and blue and then plants and weekly a vase of fresh, in season flowers. Oct 1-Nov 30 there are autumnal decor going on. Dec 1-Jan 15- Christmas is alive. Jan16-March 1 love is in the air.The month of March is Irish month; April- to Memorial Day is kind of springy- lots of greens and tulips scattered throughout the house and my. set of the Cross to the Tomb sculptures. Because my house is on the neutral side, I can change just a few decorative items throughout the year to freshen it up and make it interesting, otherwise, my home decor stays the same because I love it, though I am sure that in another 5-20 years I may change my style up- but again, neutrals and classic pieces stand the test of trends.

A suggestion, a longer board or marble piece to extend the top of your buffet. You could paint it, or use a piece of your reclaimed wood. So many options and looks. You would have more surface space, and would not sacrifice floor space. Love your home! ❤

I think your home is beautiful. I used to decorate for all the holidays and seasons but the older I get I can't do it all anymore. I've been slowly downsizing and organizing so that my home works for me. That's what counts if you feel at peace or love your home.

Cape South Africa it borders on the wine lands and the Karoo which is a dry area, however there is a lot of water in our village. I dream of a vintage cottage decor look . I will have a blank canvas and no idea how to go about it , so your video is a great help . I love it.

I so agree that a wreath is nit the only door decor. I love using wall pockets of every kind. I have metal ones ,baskets, straw purses, wood pockets. And I have many styled for a season, so I just pull it off the hook in the garage and swap them out very easily. I have fall ones, ones with red geraniums and blue mini flowers with small American flags for June and July... of course Christmas ones with greens and pinecones and red berries. Also I do love the angled chairs with that gorgeous table in front of the sun room . I think the best decision you have made, is to bring back the corner cupboard in the dining room, It was made for that space. Do not move the chalkboard!!!!! It is so unique to your home. I am glad you don't make big changes in this sweet dream cottage. I have left so many bloggers who are no longer what I subscribed to in the beginning.

You should try soda blasting your chairs! Basically, you get a sandblaster and you fill it with baking soda instead of sand and it will take off the finish from furniture. I think temu has sandblasters by the way

I love the little wooden countertop cabinet that sits to the right of your oven ❤ ever since I've seen it I have been on the hunt for one but without success, unfortunately. Hi Andrea! I just love your home (and Skye and Chad's as well!) I have felt the same way about my home right now. Typically I would be decked out for summer already but I'm just enjoying the decor that's up right now. I've had a lot of work at my business and now that I've had a bit of a break enough to catch my breath, I'm just happy to still see all the Spring decor. I guess when I feel like changing it I will. I've been collecting a few pieces that I know I want to use soon but for now I'm content. I'm in Wisconsin, so like your area, it is still chilly out here. I'm just now in the process of finding plants for outside as it is still only been in the 50's and low 60's. Then we will have a 70 or 80 degree day and it will drop to 50 at night.....our weather just keeps bouncing all over the place! And yes, allergies are ridiculous!

Not boring at all…. Love it. I feel the same way with my home… I am Happy with how it works and looks. Now my focus is the outside yard. New construction home, close to 5 yrs now, the yard was a clean slate and has been my focus now. I LOVE English cottage garden but living in Florida … not the easiest thing to do maybe even impossible but for sure keeps me going 😊
