The fact this song didn't become more famous is insane to me
The whole album
this is a killer song to play on guitar and one of AC/DC's harder ones to get it just perfect with the timing.
Why can’t I ‘like’ this comment twice!!??
The sad fact is most people never heard of AC/DC Until the Back in Black album &. Learned their original singer passed on 💔
Before it was released
Es uno de los mejores albumes que han tenido, y concuerdo con tu opinión
Best AC/DC-song ever.
The smile on your face when the music kicked in is exactly how I reacted when I first heard AC/DC when I was 14.. I’m now 56 and I still love them.
When Bon Scott passed, over 20 of my friends sat around a keg of beer and cried our eyes out! Rock and roll seriously died!
Yes, remember when the news came out the next day. It was so tough, disbelief
I was around 9 years old when ACDC came on the scene here in Australia, and for the first time I heard them I was addicted. So, I was very lucky to grow with them and watch them become megastars. I have all of their 13 albums, and they are without a doubt, my all-time favorite band. I Just love to watch their WOW ! reaction and the instant smile and nodding of the head to the beat of their music, that these people on these reaction channels experience. It is testament to their incredible raw talent, and showmanship.
1980: Named my first band after this song: RIFF RAFF!
Powerage is easily the most under-appreciated AC/DC album- There's not a single clunker on it. Kind of amazing when you consider it doesn't have any of their standards or hit singles on it either.
It is very very ultimately HARD for die hard ac dc fan to choose the best ac dc album between 'holy trinity' ac dc albums: let there be rock, powerage, highway to hell. There is not one single note on all songs of this three magnificent albums. What wholle lotta rosie is for let there be rock, that is riff raff for powerage or if you want blood for highway to hell - and that is only one combination - you can easily set numerous 'best' songs on holy trinity...
I would say Sin City just because it’s been a staple in their live show ever since.
I have always said this. The whole album kicks serious ass.
@@davidcampbell4174Similary ac dc die hard fan alwasy could ask himself what is so genious in ac dc songs that could be listening repedetly liftime... Is it Malcom with these superpower simplicity riffs, is is Phil and Cliff tightness in rhthym, is it Bon in supercharming sound of vocie, is it virtuosity playing and showmanship in Angus, all together? It stays written in stone - ac dc is the best rnr band in rnr history.
Plenty of people, including some critics, consider Powerage to be the greatest Rock n Roll album of the 70's and almost everyone considers it the best AC/DC album. Not sure 'underrated' applies unless you're like me and think no rating can possibly be high enough for this album.
One of my favourite ACDC songs. The video of this song Live at the Apollo is insane. Angus goes off. You got to watch it.
Can you Fuckin' believe that Lead guitar work! Angus is the GOAT in my book and Im a fan of all the guitar rock gods.
I've never seen anyone move and play like Angus, especially when he was younger. A true guitar prodigy.. His whole body became the instrument. And what can one say about the composing of Angus and Malcolm...truly unparalleled with how many classic, great riffs and songs they have throughout the decades. When is a biopic or miniseries going to be made about them?!
True legend...But there are lots of insanely good guitarists out there...some of which are relatively unknown.
I LOVE playing this on my SG. It's such a killer RIFF (Raff) : )
Powerage is in my all-time top 5 albums.
It's here! Riff Raff is finally here!
I saw them in 1978 at the Glasgow Apollo and got a surprise as on the previous gigs it was always live wire that opened the show but when you heard the first few chords and saw Angus on top of the speaker stacks wow it blew everyone's mind
You lucky guy 👍 wish i saw the Powerage Tour but was to young then but i saw Bon and Band 1979 in Bern support was Judas Priest ohhh men what i party we had 😁👍👍👍🙏
Riff Raff is one of the greatest heavy songs of all time!
I am a huge AC/DC fan. Riff Raff is right up there with my favorite AC/DC songs of all time. Not a bad song on this album so keep em coming Biz! 💯
This album is the only AC/DC album that I have left out of all the music that I used to have in my collection. This song is the epitome of rock and roll. I had this album on cassette tape when it came out and played as loud as I could in my car. Thanks AC/DC for all of the memories and your great music.
That was the SHIT! That's what this was! When you started smilin, I knew it was on! AC/DC is Golden! I've been crazy for them since I could BE crazy, and believe me, I started young! We were stealin my best friends parents Corvette in the 5th grade just to give you an idea. I'm not saying we were smart, but we were having a rockin good time!
The more I listen to this song even after over 40 years , it is such a masterful piece of technical Rock Music , so many chord changes and it's full on like a freight train , Riff Raff do it for a laugh , Killer cut 😎
My introduction to AC/DC, 1978 went to see Aerosmith. The lights go down and the opening act is about to start, never heard of them. A single light with Angus on top of the amps as he does the intro to this song. He jumps down and they just blow the place apart!
I must have listened to this song a thousand times, but each new time I hear it, I feel the way you look: pure joy! I still get goosebumps!
Powerage & Highway To Hell were the band at their peak with Bon. If Powerage is rocking your socks, you're going to love Highway To Hell. Mind you, you've still got another 5 brilliant tracks to go on this one.
I was a teenager as these albums were coming out, buying each within days of their release. Grew up listening to AC/DC & still love all their stuff today, but Bon was the man for me.
Nothing wrong with the Brian Johnson era, Back In Black, Flick Of The Switch and Blow Up Your Video are all awesome albums, but given the choice I'd listen to Powerage, Highway To Hell or Let There Be Rock mostly.
There's a sneaky live album, "If You Want Blood" comes in between Powerage & H To H as well, and it is fire.
While HTH is a cleaner more polished sound due to Mutt Lange’s influence, I think I prefer Powerage because it is a more raw sound. I also prefer the Powerage album lyrically.
I really like HTH too though.
Dirty deeds
@@inspectorvol951 Oh yeah. Powerage, broken down, is arguably their best album. Production aside, it stacks up against BIB.
Dirty deeds is my all time favorite but you simply cannot go wrong with an AC DC album
@@joeg3741 yeah, it is quite easy... you see some album with ACDC, buy it. Because - it is good. Even the weaker ones are MUCH better then 99% of other stuff...
Hope you get all the subs you deserve bro you're the best Biz!! 💯😎
Thanks fam
The energy of this album is through the roof. This tune rocks. I almost forgot about it, but I never forgot that lyric "It ain't humid, but it sure is hot down in Mexico." Also, this one "I never shot nobody, don't even carry a gun. I ain't done nothing, just having fun."
Thanks, Biz.
AC/DC are the greatest rock band of all time. They have the "swing" of pure rock n roll. You can't get any heavier rock music without being metal. They are the pinnacle.
Malcolm Young sadly passed away November 2017 and he is the #1 most underrated rhythm guitarist. 😔 I hope one day he gets the recognition he deserves.
He's definitely not underrated. Malcolm is appreciated all over the guitar world.
Most songs on let there be rock, if you listen tight, Malcolm shines like a diamond. It's subtle, but the songs would not be the same without it. This was his particular magic. Like on Thunderstruck it's there and really makes the song for me, but can get lost in the raucousness of the song if you don't what you're listening to.
This song crushes from start to finish, one of my favorites.glad to see you enjoying it.
Like a bullet comin at you. The perfect description. In my opinion, the greatest rock song ever.
One of the best opening riffs ever recorded!! Fyi
The major difference you will find between Bon Scott and Brian Johnson (Back In Black forward) is soul punk metal vs. corporate heavy music
As Bon Scott would say a Rock and Roll Damnation like Hell ain't a bad place to be and that's no Riff Raff
Malcom is the man that holds the band together with his rhythm guitar and lets lil bro do the flashy things.
You HAVE to check out the music video version though, man! It gives and even better visual of what a spectacle their concert were, ESPECIALLY back in those days!
Look at live from Colchester!!! Phenomenal
Up to my neck in you, on this album is highly underrated, never gets a mention, and I love it man.
My memory might be messing with me but, as I remember it, a friend in school lent me 'If You Want Blood'. First track Riff Raff and that was me done for life so it will always be special. My Dad's record collection was Nat King Cole, Jim Reeves and some Elvis 78's (nothing wrong with any of that), but Jesus - how my life changed after hearing that.
First gig was Bristol UK, Brian's first gig with DC, and I've seen them at least once every tour since. It's utterly mad how music can grab you by the balls and never let go.
When Tommy Vance announced that Bon had died on the friday rock show, my teenage self was distraught to say the least. Credit to Brian - can't imagine anyone else even trying to fill the chasm that was left.
Rock on DC
There were guitars 🎸 in this song???? Damn, I must have missed them!!!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Great reaction BizMan!!!!! Keep on keeping on!!!! So says Austin Tx!!!!!😎🤣🎸🎸🎸
Some nuance to ponder...Powerage was Cliff Williams's first album on bass. Some folks say George Young played on this album. This track is definitely Cliff. In all, Riff Raff is one of the best tracks the band laid down, if for no other reason than it can make you move.
An interviewer asked Keith Richard's of the rolling stones how it felt to be regarded as one the best guitarist, he said "I don't know, ask Malcolm Young"
This one you should try Live at Apollo Theatre!!!!!!! Man, you Will know what is real energy
My favorite! Check out this live from the Apollo Theater, it’s so good!
That's on the next album
Great reaction as usual Biz! This is another one that was almost always played during concerts during the Bon years, but was retired very early in the Brian era. You're just getting warmed up in the AC/DC rabbit hole! After Powerage, there are only 13 more studio albums to go. And don't forget the 11 video albums, three live albums, two soundtrack albums, or the two box sets they have released over the years. Let's keep the party going!
This song is pure ENERGY!!!! Such a great tune!
The best ACDC song of all time.
Yup, AC/DC ALWAYS does that to me too!!!🤫😉😆🤘😎⚡🔥💯
This song is in your face from start to finish. Greetings from Sydney. Great reaction by the way.
my man you are killin it!!!! PURE ENERGY!
ya know how when u r young and your elders say don't worry they'll grow out of it, don't believe the hype. the second these tunes come on
i'm the same juvenile delinquent i was 40 plus yrs ago!😉 Congrats on the 20,000
🤘🏿🤘🏿🤘🏿
Biz 100% real deal reactions👍♥️
Luv it Bizmatik!!! Yet another 💎 of a 🎵 song bro. These Bloats are just the best. Rock on!!¡
Your reactions are priceless!
Love the way you start smiling when it kicks in😊
You are rocking brother!
First time here. Great reaction vid! Seriously man.
Appreciate it!!
Love your reactions man. You are definitely my favorite. Keep rockin!! 🤘
Thanks fam
A lot of people dont realize that Angus was only 23 years old when this album was released, a further more only 25 when they made one of the biggest selling albums in the world
I love how this song, meaning the guitar 🎸 playing, left you searching for a comments, almost speechless lol
It's because great rock and roll needs little explanation!!!
It speaks for ITSELF!
Thank you for sharing your experience with us and please keep on listening/reacting to AC/DC 🤘😎❤
That riff and can i sit next to you girl, are 2 of there greatest..
Your reaction makes me first smile while watching you listen to this song. But your commentary made me bust out laughing 😝 And you were absolutely 100 % right ! Angus & Malcolm ( R.I.P. ) Young especially on this track can only be described as “ Guitar Wizardry “ Those 2 Brothers made absolute magic throughout their entire career’s. And that rhythm section ( Phil & Cliff ) hands down the best in the business … ✌️
You nailed it Brother!
This was one of Eddie Van Halen's favorite songs.
I almost forgot how deep this songs affected me listen to it for the first time
Thanks again
Congrats on hitting that 20k Biz.
Thanks fam
Hey, new subscriber here. So glad you're enjoying AC/DC. Saw them 7 times, twice with Bon. Dude, you missed the end of the track already... 💪
They were part of a genre, Oz pub rock. It's best known protagonists, and totally out there, but there is so much more. Each band had it's own take. The main thread was it was derived from the particular bands live sound. And you had to play 100+ gigs to get a recording contract, so you were good. A bit simplistic, but I didn't want to write a 5000 word essay and still not get it.
This song is a freight train of rock and roll!
I have been requesting this song on different channels. No luck. So thank you!
🙌🏿🙌🏿😁
Congrats on 20K.
Thanks fam
I really enjoy listening to this song with you here
Hay Biz it's Ken. I've been going back watching the early stuff I missed & u gotta do this version live with Bon of choose but it will show Angus's mastery on his les Paul. Love ure work as always bro.
“Guitar Wizardtry” hahaha another great review fam!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
AND CONGRATS ON 20K!!!!!!!!!!! 100K HERE WE COME!!!!! Hahaha 🙌🙌🙌🙌
💞
Thanks fam we on our way 🤘🏿🤘🏿💯💯💯
Gotta love the energy,eh,Biz? I think I would wear myself out at this concert! XD
don't forget High way to Hell, Bon's last album, it's awesome too!
Next level!!! You right!!!
Congrats on being the first reaction channel I've seen that doesn't ruin the whole thing by constantly hitting the pause button 👍
🙌🏿🙌🏿
Both Malcolm & Angus said Riff Raff is by far the hardest and most complicated song they play only a few guitarist could play attempt it live like Slash Eddie etc
It's one of their best songs IMO. AC/DC are masters of their craft. This could be Bon's signature song. No doubt many staid Australian mothers referred to him as such.
the best band and the best song
I always took an ativan after this song... made me wanna run thru walls... fun!!!
I might have this played at my funeral, I love it so much! :-)
My Lil sister now loves your reactions! She loves AC/DC as much as you do and I do. She's gonna subscribe just as soon as she can get her phone out of that thing she calls a purse! Hah!
This song and "Whole Lotta Rosie" are my absolute favorite high energy songs from AC/DC. Killer Diller! Thanks Biz!
pure energy!!!!!!!!!
DOPE thats the only way to describe riff raff
This is the best ACDC album of all time.
Best analogy ever, "like a bullet coming at you" 💯⚡🔥🤘😎
great song to hear first thing in the morning!
My guy keep on grinding bro I wish you success you gotta go live soon
Thanks fam, I think I will this sunday
You nailed it
Love this song
Been listening to them since I was 13, at the time most people thought they were incredibly heavy, saw them when I was 16 in 1980, and met them, went back stage and looked at his green velvet suit hung up, he had the red one on, pot of tea waiting for him after (Angus) he didn't drink alcohol, they blew me away, unfortunately never I saw them with Bonn. Riff Raff is one of my favourites. Malcolm was a genius, the engine of the band and an incredible songwriter as was Angus, pure rock and roll.
I have to laugh whenever you've mentioned paying attention to the lyrics. I love Bon's vocals, but the lyrics are as deep as a layer of paint. It reminds me of a quote from Keith Richard: "Rock-n-roll shouldn't be analyzed, or even thought about deeply."
You're the man bizmatic. You and everyone who loves the Bon era, should check out Mark Kozelek and his folk versions of this song and many others.
Get that 100k, Biz! Powerage is a mind blower, full of surprises. More speed and precision than their other records, so definitely very influential for later metal, for punk, for hardcore. Riff Raff is guitar mayhem. Absolute clinic by the two six-string slinging brothers. 🤘
🤘🏿🤘🏿🤘🏿🤘🏿
Dictionary:Rock n' roll:Riff Raff
These guys got to the top of the heap by playing simple 3-chord boogie. ZZ-Top did the same, although w a totally different style. The secret? The songs are downright hummable!
Watch this live from the Apollo Theatre Glasgow, that concert became the live album If You Want Blood
🎸💯🤯 AC⚡DC Powerage‼🔥❤
The feeling!!!
Powerage was my first AC/DC album (cassette tape blasting in the car car stereo). If I’m not mistaken, Sin City is next. I’ll be tunin in to get your reaction on my favorite AC/DC song. After you hear it you should check out them playing it on the Midnight Special.
This was their set opener from 1978-80, and you can hear why. Pure energy, and the perfect way to let the crowd know what was in store for them
Go all Bon !!!! ⚡
I love AC/DC from my teenage years to now (60) - You really should check out other Aussie music especially from the same background and era - Cold Chisel are awesome - 'Flame Trees', 'Choir Girl', 'You got nothin I want' and many more - they are also legends - and when Jimmy Barnes (lead singer went solo) he was legendary (one of the best voices you will ever encounter) and is still making music to this day.
Love those double stop bends from Angus !!! ⚡. Watch this live in Paris with Bon ⚡⚡
They didn't play this in paris
@@JAce94007 my mistake , it was at the apollo
@@guitarman8462 I figured lol
Check out the same song live at vh1 studio. They are older and with Brian Johnson singing. Still sound fantastic.
