Just pull ourselves up by the bootstraps they like to tell us! 🙄 Thankfully she was able to get her property back!

Juneteenth is not Juneteenthing like it used to be I’m happy Mrs Opal got her home back but Juneteenth is not the same 💯

I agree. We should have kept it to ourselves. Outsiders who don't want to understand and respect the history of Juneteenth, are inauthentic about this celebration.

It’s people like Opal Lee that make this world a better place. I loathe what she and her family went through and what they lost. I’m ecstatic for her today. The home should become a National Monument as a reminder to how resilient people can be and so that we never forget the animalistic ways of racists. I look up to you, Ms Lee. Enjoy your new home at your old home.

From what I heard about the story, the racist neighbors burned down her family's house to keep blacks out. I'm not sure I would want to live in that neighborhood considering some of those evil people involved probably still live there.

One of the biggest hypocritical tricks played on BP is and was the illusion of Integration….. I blame MLK for that.

$10? That's way too much money to pay for something that was stolen from her. It's not a gift if it's her property that she's getting back. The title should say she was *given* back her home.

Paying $10 is better than Dr. Lee getting a huge tax bill for a gift of a completely free house.

Like I said, it's not a gift if your getting back that was stolen from you in the first place.

I’m happy that she got her home back but why did it take 85 years for it to happen? This is just people breaking their arms to pat themselves on the back. It’s nothing but virtue signaling
