EOTR staff member, Jeff Osburn, decides to try an off season stalk on a bedded buck. Watch this incredible footage and you'll be amazed at what happens during the stalk.
If every buck I encountered would walk up to me and let me check out his rack I wouldn't even hunt them. By far one of the coolest things I have ever witnessed with whitetail deer! Thanks for sharing.
the deer appear off his center of heath and balance. His eyes half open and lethargic motions. Even his run was not a true burst . Maybe injured, sick or old. Still truly amazing. I had a much smaller buck come up to us ain our garden that show no fear. This was obviously raised by some as a pet.
There was nothing wrong with the deer you snuck up on him very quietly. The deer was curious just like any other animal would be. I’m sure this was before the hunts he wasn’t spooked by any gunshots or even cars passing by. That was pretty impressive!
People think every hunter is a nut job with a thirst for the kill. We hunt when it's legal to do so. We hunt when the food is needed. Those who trophy hunt though are like those who drive those massive jacked up trucks and own expensive things to make them feel " Superior" I guess the word is? They are a whole class of nut job in there own. Most hunters have some respect for nature.
if your in alaska subsistence hunting, sure..because if you dont subsistence hunt you'll likely starve before your next shipment of food, can you say you hunt for that level of survival? cuz if not its basically pointless killing, theirs likely a butcher shop for unprepared meat if you want to cook it yourself. subsistence hunting is competely logical, if you hunt to survive then ofc theres nothing wrong with that, but if you live in a town and can go get prepared meat or go to a butcher shop and get uncooked meat and prepare it yourself, whats the point of killing it yourself again? other then as you say "Superiority" or to save a Buck, both bad reasons to hunt imo.
Outlaws that guy is just an idiot who thinks it's wrong to shoot a trophy animal an also enjoy their meat I guess, sounds like he is a little screwed up in the head if you ask me
In my case, I live surrounded by thick forests, and within a 30-40 mile radius of several towns, all of which don't have a butcher's shop that sells fresh, clean meat (which is baffling, given I live in rural Kentucky). Only supermarkets with packaged, processed meat- shit you'd be better off staying far away from. Sure, I don't HAVE to hunt to survive, but in doing so, I get to eat meat I know came from an animal that lived free and healthy, sans any sort of mistreatment, confinement, or contamination. Why wouldn't I choose to hunt? And besides, who do you think supplies those butchers with meat? A genie? If you're buying meat that came from an animal that someone else hunted or raised, the ONLY difference is how you obtained it: going to the store and buying it, or going out into the wild to find it. Something still died to feed your hungry self, and as long as people still need to eat to live, things will continue to die, regardless of whether or not YOU yourself kill them, be it flora or fauna. It's just reality.
I have many whitetail deer in my yard. A couple of the big bucks let me pet them and even brush their fur. Whitetail deer are very sweet and trusting. I've never had one be threatening to me in any way.
That deer was blind or had really really bad eye sight. When a deer looks at you it will move its head around to look at you from different views including the side or what we call peripheral. The only reason it looked straight at the guy was to try and pick him out with his ears but it was clearly windy.
It almost seems like he's blind? But ya what he said defiantly did not seem very aware of what was going on! That's so crazy and heart pounding adrenaline!!!
+Nick Thomas deer don't really be out in the bright they hangout in shaded areas then come out at sun down. then they roam at night ... deer in headlights lol
I call shenanigans. For one, this looks like Texas... where they have giant fenced in properties where you pay to hunt and they feed them constantly for big antlers. Either that deer was partly tame or sick.
It obviously wasn't a ranch deer it was only like 140 class. It was a big deer for most places but those ranches where to pay to play hunting breed specifically for big deer whenever they can and feed and do food plots 4 large antler nutrition
You nailed it exactly he was sleep walking, look at his slumber walk as he approches the guy filming he nearly falls over from a mis step and his eyes were nearly closed, the only other thing might be is he ate some hog poison, still looks like sleep walking to me tho
Looks like he has had a rough year!...Probably just old but not blind. He would have ran into that cactus when he ran off if he was blind. Pretty cool vid.
I never get the good stuff on camera. Had a black bear and cub walk right up to me while hunting last year. Walked straight into an Elk (within arms reach) coming around a blind corner in the Olympics.
Its almost like its blind. Every time you made a noise it looked in our direction. It did run away when you moved when it was right by you. It just didn't seem like it could see you.
crazy!!! is it possible this buck was having some eye problems? I mean seemed as if he was looking through you, like he was having a hard time even seeing you?
I would show this video to Fish and game for your area and have them evaluate this animal.Their specialist would know immediately whats going on with him.
Might have been beginning stages of disease. I went cross country through brush in south Texas and walked right up to a jackrabbit sitting in the open. I was wearing sunglasses. Not sure if it made a difference.
Gene Wensel was still hunting, I think it was, and got right up to a deer, and then made the choice of grabbing the base of the beam. Nothing bad happened, but the deer pulled his antler away, and Wensel said he had no idea how much power, and ease as there. On the one hand, you know his neck is huge, but they are also delicately proportioned animals, that don't always weight that much more than humans...
guys the deer wasn't blind. if it was blind it wouldn't get up. and that is a young buck you can tell by the colour of its fur and the arch of its back
the deer is nearly blind, if not completely. it's an old buck...his eyes didn't look right and he didn't scent like a normal whitetail (barely extended his tongue)
My personal opion is, that when you do a Camera shot, sit straight andlook in the camera and dont sit angled... for me it seems weird, dont know if others can approve.
I've personally seen a sick deer act just like this. Infection from not shedding antlers was what I was told by a state biologist that did a post mortem. Or maybe infection kept antlers from shedding. Can't remember anymore. Deer acted just like this.
Deer, "🤔hey bro how's it going? What brings you out to the grass today?". Guy, ~smudges deer's antler~. Deer, "umm pretty rude but ok". Guy, ~smudges deer's antler again~. Deer, "GOOD DAY SIR!".
It is sad to say but my bet is Chronic wasting disease, most likely from the blood in the feed put there by rendering plants. He obviously was lost and had problems with his balance, go to a nursing home and they are full of people just like that. I wish it was just a case of you sharing the bong with him, but anways, nice video Sizzlean
Im 15 and ive been hunting til i was 6 and i know that that deer is not blind. But most people dont know deer have bad eye sight and are also colored blind and see gray.So this deer did see him but didnt feel like he was in danger.
I'd say, in all seriousness, that the deer is probably blind. Judging by the way it walked in the brush and the fact that there was absolutely no reaction to the guys movement.
I think he was just tired from a long hard season of mating I'm sure. Watch "Hunting the Big Woods" videos from the north eastern US. Stalk hunts with big payoffs! There it's explained how tired those big bucks get. Pretty awesome video!!! 😊 The Gospel of John, when you're ready.♥️🔥
If every buck I encountered would walk up to me and let me check out his rack I wouldn't even hunt them. By far one of the coolest things I have ever witnessed with whitetail deer!
Thanks for sharing.
..have you witnessed a cooler experience with a different type of deer?
That deer was hanging out with Willie Nelson. He's higher then 10 hippies in a helicopter.
Justin Smith hahahahahahahahahahahaha
Justin Smith that’s a good one
CWD. begining stages
So is that wrong? 🥴
Justin Smith 😂😂😂 that’s a good one
The deer's just too old to give a shit anymore..
That deer is stoned out of his damn mind and just got done eating somebody's Kush crop!
you saw the way his eyes looked too eh? lol even looked like he got the pasties too lmao
Well since THC is only activated by heat I don't think he was high. Unless he has a crockpot and learned how to cook, or roll a J.
mav9898 fuck drugs
no doubt haha look into his eyes man hes so baked
Could have eaten some fermented fruit or something. Deer didn't seem in his right mind lmao.
He looks like me when I just woke up. Completely in a daze and in serious need of coffee.
Deer.exe has stopped working
Blue screen
Cntl+alt+del
The Hunter Cotw is glitched i know.
Cotw has New Graphics i guess. 😂
That deer is red ring of death red screen of death and the blue light of death all in ome
4:14
When you end an argument and hear the other person mumble something under their breath.
Lmfao imagine just hanging out in the woods minding your business and this guy tries to steal your antlers 😂
It looks like it was exhausted and was sleep walking
David Liebherr March month, not season.
Wow that was crazy. I wouldve been a bit freaked out and I'm a hunter.
the deer appear off his center of heath and balance. His eyes half open and lethargic motions. Even his run was not a true burst . Maybe injured, sick or old. Still truly amazing. I had a much smaller buck come up to us ain our garden that show no fear. This was obviously raised by some as a pet.
no
The deer doesn't look like it's blind because it's eyes don't have a milky white or tinted blue film to them
Animals don't have to have cataracts to be blind. Plain old ocular degeneration can do it too.
That is some incredible footage and a gorgeous buck!
I have been hunting for years. The real answer is that Buck is so so tired of fighting other Bucks.
Drunk or high af. He stumbles at one point.
This takes shed hunting to a whole new level. No dog needed, no walking. Just some corn, petting, and a quick yank and you got a nice rack
I could never my grandad could not do that at all he has been hunting for so long and never got that close you are one lucky man in that moment
Deer have a sense of smell 10,000 times stronger than that of a human. Even if the deer was blind, I can assure you that he knew what was upon him.
The look in those eyes say I am still asleep, been eating fermented corn, eating a marijuana patch, or half blind. Great video!
This deer wasn't blinded, not by the way he took off knowing where he was.
I almost jump of my seat wen the dear run away
wessel bolt same
me too
Ikr I was more scared than the fuckin deer
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
That bucko didn't sleep that night and later wrote a thread on reddit about his extraterrestrial experience
There was nothing wrong with the deer you snuck up on him very quietly. The deer was curious just like any other animal would be.

Yea come on don't kill animals that's just wrong. Just go buy meat so no animals have to die lol
"Just go buy meat so no animals have to die"
LOL really, man? what do you think meat is?
Outlaws that guy is just an idiot who thinks it's wrong to shoot a trophy animal an also enjoy their meat I guess, sounds like he is a little screwed up in the head if you ask me

The deer looks back and is like "I thought we were friends"
Look at this eyes. Clearly high on the jazz cabbage.
I have many whitetail deer in my yard. A couple of the big bucks let me pet them and even brush their fur. Whitetail deer are very sweet and trusting. I've never had one be threatening to me in any way.
I still can't get over how small Deer are in the South. Pretty cool footage though.
Saskatchewan has the biggest fuckers I've ever seen
Yea, that size is more like a good sized doe up here in Ohio.
It’s still a good deer
@@mcduncan1889 true
Small bro that’s a big deer
That deer was blind or had really really bad eye sight. When a deer looks at you it will move its head around to look at you from different views including the side or what we call peripheral. The only reason it looked straight at the guy was to try and pick him out with his ears but it was clearly windy.
Either that deer blind or its the calmest 1 I've seen but he chilling like a dude in a hot tub alone
that deer looked and acted like it was blind...or in shock....or maybe he ate some psychedelic mushrooms...it wasn't acting "normal" that is for sure
Deer have the life. He woke up from his nap and went on about his business. Majestic animals
I have had them lik that he was still asleep / Groggy and he couldn't see you in camo. What I want to know is what scent system you were usin bro
It almost seems like he's blind? But ya what he said defiantly did not seem very aware of what was going on! That's so crazy and heart pounding adrenaline!!!
hand fed and sick see his eyes
That's the conclusion I thought of too. I clicked the video to see the nice deer but his eyes are kind of creeping me out.
Really bright out for him to be awake. Texas can be so bright it's blinding.
MrMudNugget are you trying to say deer can't be awake during the day?
Lol if what i'm seeing is correct no im not saying that. But seriously its incredibly bright out there...you know outside.
+Nick Thomas deer don't really be out in the bright they hangout in shaded areas then come out at sun down. then they roam at night ... deer in headlights lol
nvm, you said it yourself something was off, glad you pointed out the obvious and didn't mislead viewers thank you for that
I call shenanigans.

That deer was sleepwalking 😆 🤣 😂 😹 😆 🤣 😂 😹 😆 🤣
CWD.
SgtHulkasBigToe I don't think so. He wasn't showing the symptoms of CWD. His body weight looked normal and overall he looked healthy.
fed by humans
could be blind, but seems too healthy and didnt jump at your touch
Moonman km
SgtHulkas
You nailed it exactly he was sleep walking, look at his slumber walk as he approches the guy filming he nearly falls over from a mis step and his eyes were nearly closed, the only other thing might be is he ate some hog poison, still looks like sleep walking to me tho
deer is as blind as democratic voters
Lolololol funny and true at the same time
Jay Bee bahahaha hell yes hell yes
***** sorry democrat
***** didnt mean it as one..i shouldve put a comma.
Jay Bee amen to that
Wow... great footage! What a magnificent creature 🙏
Too bad. Another great deer lost to CWD.
Man’s neck is thicker than the bucks
Looks like he has had a rough year!...Probably just old but not blind. He would have ran into that cactus when he ran off if he was blind. Pretty cool vid.
I never get the good stuff on camera.
Had a black bear and cub walk right up to me while hunting last year.
Walked straight into an Elk (within arms reach) coming around a blind corner in the Olympics.
THAT DEER IS STONED OUT OF HIS MIND
That buck would be dead if that was me
Its almost like its blind. Every time you made a noise it looked in our direction. It did run away when you moved when it was right by you. It just didn't seem like it could see you.

He's probably just running a buck fever. Lol
"Perfect stalking conditions"
Nice
write that down WRITE THAT DOWN!

Thats a sick deer you can tell by the way he acts
4:19 "fuck you do dat foe"
guys the deer wasn't blind. if it was blind it wouldn't get up. and that is a young buck you can tell by the colour of its fur and the arch of its back
The buck was thinking on how the hell is Trump running for president........Then he woke up !!!!!
He's in another zone. Looked like he was about to fall asleep
the deer is nearly blind, if not completely. it's an old buck...his eyes didn't look right and he didn't scent like a normal whitetail (barely extended his tongue)
Are white tails known to eat psychedelic mushrooms? I've read a few things before about reindeer taking a liking to them.
That deer looks high af
That dude was posing for the camera , then he ran off all excited to pose for the wide shot lol
Gosh when he took off running I even jumped hahaha
Here I'm thinking you were gonna give him a nice soft pat on the head, but nope! You tugged on his antlers. 🤨
He was as tired as I’ve seen any critters. So sleepy his brain was in a fog
The new COTW update is looking great.
That was too cool! The closest I've been was 3 yards to a doe, we floated right by in a canoe.
It's not the first time I've seen this kind of strange behavior - but what is it due to?
My personal opion is, that when you do a Camera shot, sit straight andlook in the camera and dont sit angled... for me it seems weird, dont know if others can approve.
That deer is blinder than blind!!!
That buck was half stoned! LOL
I've personally seen a sick deer act just like this. Infection from not shedding antlers was what I was told by a state biologist that did a post mortem. Or maybe infection kept antlers from shedding. Can't remember anymore. Deer acted just like this.
That was his counterplay to your gun.
Hey first of nice puball buck can u tell me what county u shot him in I swear I saw that buck aswell
This deer HAD to have CWD! ( chronic wasting disease ) In my area it has been a problem. You should check if it’s in your area.
Awesome footage.... even if it is a baited or "deer farm fed" deer. I frankly wonder if that one is old and going blind.
That is some weird stuff right there... Musta been high..?? LOL Amazing footage..!!
Dang! This is awesome.
Get the new and improved "Realtree Cloak" at a sporting goods retailer near you!
When the NPC gets stuck
Bruh that deer was high on someones hidden stash of 420.
His eyes are probably messed up
How he do that?
It might have been blind , it was relying on its sense of smell ? Just a thought ?
I wonder if that wasn't an escaped farm buck
Looked to me like it was probably blind.
The deer here in Texas are ballsy as hell. They don't really fear humans.
That's really cool and amazing
Do you think he had a eye problem
2:37 that buck is high as a kite lmao
Deer, "🤔hey bro how's it going? What brings you out to the grass today?". Guy, ~smudges deer's antler~. Deer, "umm pretty rude but ok". Guy, ~smudges deer's antler again~. Deer, "GOOD DAY SIR!".
That deer was animated
