- Last week, we took a first look at the brand new iPhone SE and we noticed a lot of obvious similarities to the iPhone 8. In that video, we mentioned our parts testing team discovered that the displays and cameras were interchangeable, while the battery was not due to a slightly different connector. Today, we’re going to take a closer look at this modern iPhone 8 clone to see what other secrets it holds, as well as find out the results of some more extensive parts testing.

Y'all really need to adjust your audio settings. The background music is too loud, hard to hear the narration imo

This seems to be an insurmountable problem for all kinds of youtubers. I don't know why it's so hard but apparently it is.
@@iHaveTheDocuments I have that problem all the time. While you are editing the video you lower the volume and sounds good but after the render is louder. I usually solve this by lowering a little bit more...
The music Is good but it gets obnoxious fast because it's just as loud as the voice.
I don't know how it's hard, I'm just some schmuck who makes videos for fun and I manage just fine. Just turn down the damn music track lol

Please turn down the music. The narrator’s voice is buried by it. Compressing his voice might help, too.
Or even better, don't use background music at all.

As I'm not native speaker I had to turn on the subtitles to fully understand what he is saying :)

I have a question. Now that 3D Touch hardware layer is missing, is the display assembly thinner than on the 8 or is there a cavity inside? Also, how thick was that 3D Touch later?

Apple isn't the only company that makes phones. I'd love to see phone teardowns and repair videos for other manufacturer's phones.
Great video but I have a question. If you put (for a replacement) the motherboard, battery and camera of iphone se 2 into an iphone 8, it's supposed to work no ?

They got rid of 3D touch on the SE but still couldn't fit a bigger battery. SMH.

@@brandon_nope They killed 3D touch on the flagships to make the display thinner so they could fit a bigger battery. If they got rid of 3D for the SE, then they should have fit a bigger battery and likely could've added around 200+ mAh more battery capacity.
You are most likely to upgrade after 1 or so years if your battery sucks.... Apple made three right decision not putting in bigger battery

Yeah I think I'll hold onto my 8. A slightly detailed camera will make no difference in my life on earth. A slightly bigger battery would have though.

It does not work because there's missing connections on the motherboard.
I wonder if 3d touch would work on the se if you replaced the panel with one from an iPhone 8.

I was thinking about an SE, glad I just kept my 8 plus.....is this like the 5 and 5c? They were basically the same phone, just the 5c came in an array of colors, and it was plastic.

I think making this like iphone 8 was a good decision because it will make finding iphone 8 parts and this phones parts easier

"swapping the logic board" is just changing the phone's shell
@@Ignacio.Romero Yes, basically changing every single components, except those that only work specifically with each other (logic board, battery, home button), to see if those are the only things that only work with each other or if there are other components that are not cross compatible.

3D Touch was a gem most people didn’t discover. It made a screen clickable like no other screen could do. Too bad Apple decided to omit it in the SE.

No, because the pin for it isn't on the SE, and its disabled in software anyways for all 3D Touch devices since ios13, because haptic touch replaced it

I feel like people wanted 3D touch to be in the iPhone SE but disabled, so they could claim they disabled it to save cost, but Apple has clearly have admitted that 3D touch is not a good feature and replaced it with something they think is a better user experience.

Why is the battery connector a different size? If it’s the exact same battery, they would have used the same connector, so, something must be different.
