If we only miss a day or 2 in the week, I usually will have them catch up on Friday or double up another day during the week. We do school on most 1-day holidays like Labor day because we would rather have our Fridays off or as very light days. If we get a week behind in a subject like we did with history this year because of skipping a week, then as I take each week out, I just take that weeks history and put it into the folder for the next week, then do the same the next week and so on. I hope that makes sense!
No, we have not had a problem with this. They know to only take out each day at a time and the rest stay in the clipboard. I put them in order in the clip board, so they don't really have to sort through the whole stack, just take the ones off the top.
Which material? Like the clipboards and file box? I bought those many years ago at Walmart, but I think similar ones can be found on Amazon. Though in store might be cheaper? Storage clipboard in a variety of colors: smile.amazon.com/Dexas-3517-J2728-Slimcase-Storage-Clipboard/dp/B01N0L4NEA/ref=sr_1_5?dchild=1&keywords=storage+clipboard&qid=1621882370&sr=8-5 I think this may be smaller than my file box, but is very similar to what I have, though I ended up using a file cabinet, because everything didn't fit in my box this past year. smile.amazon.com/Storex-File-Storage-Translucent-Black/dp/B07T1P26PZ/ref=sr_1_5?dchild=1&keywords=file+box&qid=1621882423&sr=8-5 Let me know if that wasn't what you were looking for and I will try to find links for what you are looking for!
I keep the work for a little while in case they need to look back to previous pages to remember how to do something (especially for math) or sometimes the assignments reference a page they already did. I don't keep them all year, when the binders start getting full I dispose of the oldest work in the binders.
I do not keep the work. We do not live in a state that requires us to turn anything in or have a portfolio. It ends up being A LOT of paper at the end. If there are any particular papers that I want a memory of, I take a picture before throwing them away.
My older kids we would keep favourites and then have a big fire at the end of the year and burn the rest, toast some marshmallows, have a meal and talk about everything we had accomplished over the previous year, and the ashes would go into nourishing the vege patch.
I love the dry erase idea!
Very good, thank you for sharing!

Hi! I’ve organized in a similarly in the past. I’m wondering what you do if you miss a couple days (holiday, sick day, etc...).
If we only miss a day or 2 in the week, I usually will have them catch up on Friday or double up another day during the week. Do the kids ever lose the papers you keep in the clipboard, that they need for the rest of the week?
No, we have not had a problem with this. They know to only take out each day at a time and the rest stay in the clipboard. I put them in order in the clip board, so they don't really have to sort through the whole stack, just take the ones off the top.
Home on the Plains Thank you!
Thank you for sharing Do you have links for any of the material in your video?

What are you reasons for keeping their work for the year?

May I ask where you found those clipboards?
A couple of them came from Walmart several years ago, but got one off of Amazon last year.
Very good
Beautiful Name: Shailynn
I’m curious if you keep the work when you empty the binders?
