  • We are spoiled with multiple good options for collectors Power Rangers and Super Sentai Figures, but which ones are truly the best to pick up? With Lightning Collection recent issues and the recent revival of Sentai Figuarts, I wanted to discuss the pros and cons for each figure line. I discuss the differences in price, quality, variety, and which lines are better for team building or just individual character purchases.

    I'm all in for Super7, I collect 7 inch scale and these have great sculpts, paint and accessories. They also match with Neca, Mcfarlane, and diamond select.

    Id say the "remastered" line is the best of both worlds, so long as they keep the same level of quality and detail. I used to be purely figuarts, but over the years ive had to sell those and with there seemingly no solid answer on if figuarts will do "2.0"s past maybe red ive turned my attention to the remastered figures. I didnt used to rate the lightning collection due to issues like reds helmet etc, but now theyre paying more attention. I really dont like super 7; they have tonnes of accessories, but the figures themselves arent very accurate or poseable. Yellows helmet for example is egregiously inaccurate.

    Not really a important opinion, but my favorite line is Bandai‘s Legacy Line. I really like the figures and they give me a nostalgic feeling 😅

    This was a great video. I'm a huge SH Figuarts collector. Mainly Kamen Rider and MCU stuff. I agree lightning collection is probably best in terms of budget and team building. I usually display figures so if you want to display, I think lightning is a good route. The retail releases also tend to go on sale. I started getting lightning collection when they released comic or crossover rangers like Drakkon, TMNT, street fighter rangers. I would really like to see Solar Rangers or Omega rangers in the lightning collection someday.

    Thanks for this video, I was looking for someone to cover this topic and you did it so well, I mainly collect figuarts for Kamen rider and Ultraman but I have picked up all the recent releases for sentai from Zenkaiser to Don momotaro. If people don't mind 2nd hand goods, buying online from Japan is always a way to collect these on a budget, I bought zenkaiser for less than $35USD just because the box was "damaged" in reality there was only a small minor crease on the corner lol

    At its best (the deluxe figures, really), I think LC is the best of the three. If every figure were of the same budget as Senturion, they'd pretty much be as good as Super7 in terms of detail, with fewer accessories and much more articulation. Figuarts are nice, but they're so expensive.

    For me I've always loved the Lightning Collection figures and i've collected a lot of them over the years, but I'm not a completionist, I get the full teams from seasons that I loved or just individual rangers that I like. I know there have been a lot of QC issues, especially recently but I haven't experienced any major problems personally and I actually enjoy customizing the figures a bit, which I don't mind doing given the price point and availability. I'm very choosey with Super7, one because of their high prices (which I think are too high), two because of how ridiculously long it takes them to put out product, and three because I have had actual qc problems with super7 figures in the past. Their Goldar figure is really awesome though, and I did end up getting the T-Rex and Green Ranger, they are fine as well, but definitely just cherry picking those. And I'm not a fan of Figuarts at all, I think they are too small, too fragile, and too expensive, I like a figure to be durable and not feel like it's going to break at the slightest touch, they're just too high end for me I guess.

    @rafaelmonterrozamorelo1752 Год назад

    I'll leave my humble opinion here since I feel the video was well done.
    LC: you get what you pay for, it's cheaper than the others, thus the gap in the paint quality and details... Come with civilian head, which is good and 1 or 2 accessories.
    Super7: hrm I don't know if we can trust them, go and compare the faces of Trini and Tommy between the announcement post or the preorder photos and the actual figure, you'll see the downgrade. I don't feel like that's a $55 figure, the sculpture is sort of basic and for example you get way better details in a $35 sh figuarts (like Goku or Naruto). They come with more accessories which is good and the painting is on point.
    SH Figuarts: High quality and higher price... The biggest problem: Japanese release. It won't come with civilian head (unless it's a really pricy special release like Tommy 25th anniversary) because the actors from super sentai are different. But the quality and details fit the price. Keep in mind that Japan is a different culture so the popular rangers may be different over there and you'll have problems getting your favorite ones released.

    I know you're about collector's figures but can you speak on the basics at all? I've just gotten back into the series with "Once & Always" and want to start collecting for myself but I also want to get some stuff for my niece and nephew who're becoming little ranger fiends themselves. What are my options for basic ranger toys? Only the recent Dino Fury seasons?

    • @DosmRider
      @DosmRider  Год назад

      You actually have couple options for stuff that is currently available.
      Hasbro released some special basic MMPR Figures. Red, Black, and yellow are available right now and the rest of the core six are on the way. Ill include a link to Hasbro's site, but you can also still find these at some Walmarts currently. bit.ly/3HyJ4w5
      There is also this set that is still on Amazon that has three figures from each of the previous dino based seasons, amzn.to/3LKkmvl

    I bought Super7’s T-Rex and Green Ranger. I was blown away by the T-Rex. I found the Green Ranger to be good, but not great. It’s lack of articulation bothered me more than I thought it would. I am low key happy that it underwhelmed me though since I don’t feel the need to get the rest of the team now. Going forward, I will be getting the Super7 Zords but sticking with the Lightning Collection for the Rangers.

    Because of the QC issues I only buy Lightning Collection if I find a good price on them. I love the accesories and scale of the Super 7 line so planning on picking those up. Figuarts are cool but it seems like they aren't doing teams and the special rangers are too expensive.

    I can understand not wanting a single ranger when you are a team builder. Right now, I am considering skipping the final wave of LC (hopefully just final for now) because they are all the start of new teams that may never be completed.

    Disclaimer: Super7.
    There are packaging differences between the ones made in Vietnam vs the China made. Vietnam comes with the outer cardboard box and the joints are not as stiff. Vietnam batches are better but I currently don't know how to just order the made in Vietnam versions. Paint quality is the same accessories etc. Just a disappointment paying that much and not getting the WHOLE BOX

    It really comes down to preference and cant completely compare all of them
    Light has the corner of the market really the only option
    Hasbro has a knack of getting the lesser cheaper versions of stuff from japan and give it mass market

  • @WiGgYof09
    @WiGgYof09 Год назад

    Personally, I think Lightning Collection is a great option for those that don't just want the rangers. There are a lot of villains in this line, both main villains and henchmen.
    I wouldn't call Super7 high quality, just more expensive. In some cases they have more paint apps and they have a nice amount of accessories, but they have brittle joints and they don't have much in the way of costume detail. Personally, I think the rangers are the weakest part of this line and this is better for those that want monsters/villains and zords. These can also compliment the Lightning Collection line as the monsters are basically the same size and the zords work with both Super7 and LC monsters.
    I don't have SH Figuarts, but it seems these are for those that only want rangers and want a full compliment of accessories that are fully detailed. They also have pretty much every single small detail represented as accurately as possible.
    My personal choice is the LC with the non-ranger figures from Super7. The two zords I have so far are pretty good and the 2 monsters are much better than the LC versions as well.

    I’m wondering if wave 4 is the end of super 7. They only did 3 figures instead of 5. I love the zords, but I can’t get into their rangers. I got the green and it wasn’t my thing. Love SHF and Lightning (when it’s a solid release)

    As someone with only Lightning Collection, the Super 7s do seem a lot better however for value LC is by far the best. Comparing the price difference I always find Super 7 is better but not so much better as to justify the price jump. I always used to say that over £20 is too much for what is basically a bunch of plastic, as things went up I'd had to compromise to grow my collection but I've never been able to justify the Super 7 price. So my two cents is Super 7 is superior but not worth the money, I think they're over price the twice of LC. For say £30 I could justify for the extra props. For comparison WWE's best figures are around £20-£25 but you can find premium figures of specific wrestlers for £30, they are rare and can jump up and it's only for specific wrestlers but say £10 price difference makes a lot more sense to me.
    So for value LC is a lot better imo. Yes if I had tons of money I'd get Super 7 because they're better quality with more accessories but if I had that money I'd be buying even more LC too plus God knows what, so it's a moot point.

    Since it’s been a year since JDFs passing,I wanted to look for any MMPR green and white rangers,red zeo and turbo rangers,and any black Dino thunder ranger figures I can find to make a tribute collection. My first figure I found today was actually a brand new s h figurarts green ranger for only $80. A good deal considering the second hand market. I’m thinking of getting the white ranger as well but I also want to get the lightning collection to build a team of mighty morphing rangers and villains.

    I get why people would prefer Figuarts and Super 7, but honestly, as someone who has a hard time spending more than $25 for a figure, I'm perfectly fine with Lightning Collection. Yes, there are some paint problems, but I have some paint pens so I can fix anything myself and I haven't had any of my LC figures falling apart or anything. Though I didn't get DF Izzy since I already had the Basic Figure version and I don't care about DC enough to finish that team. I just wish they included all forms of the sidearms AND their default weapon.
    The Super 7 Ultimates, at least in terms of the Rangers themselves, are just kinda ugly, IMO. Not to mention they're expensive. They are $55 in a lot of places while Target has them for $75.
    I actually do have a handful of Figuarts. Deka Yellow & Pink and Shinkenger Female Red. I like Shinken Red, but the Deka duo are pretty skinny and fragile. I have no real intention on getting any newer ones. I will say that I have always hated their shoulder joints and looking at their newer figures, the upper thigh joint looking like a tall boot just ruins the figure, IMO.

    Super 7 is DEAD LAST. To me Figuarts and Lightning are kinda 50/50.... I had to get a Super 7 Tommy, and broke 3 hands, an elbow and a thumb just trying to set him up with my other Tommies.... NOT worth 50 bucks... BUT scalpers and Hasbro together have seen to it that I won't get a Lightning Green ANY time soon...

    Personally i only own the Lightning Collection But from what i know about super seven & figuwarts LC is overall bettee
    it's A Very Accessible Line, Not Always Perfect (Especially Now) but QC aside the figures porportions look alot better but some of the older headscolps are bad like mmpr red & green
    Super Seven's pretty good with accessories but they dont have double jointed arms and they've only done Mighty Morphin
    Figuwarts Very Expensive, And Porportions Aren't Very Accurate, And Their Not Very Accessible Same For LC Where I Live And If The LC Was Brital You'd Have To Be Very Careful With Them From What I've Heard
