Fantastic episode. Nola is such a compelling character. Bea needed a rival like her. Great performances too!
oh that she is😢😂😂
Such a sad scene when Bea and Lizzie were crying about Paddy. Perhaps one of the few times I've shed a tear over the show.
That look of panic on the freaks face in davo's office after Bea's friendly warning. 😂 priceless!
I guess she wanted to be the center of attention. But I started laughing when she did that.
I take comfort in the fact that Beas revenge is so epic
i guess it's quite randomly asking but do anyone know of a good website to stream new tv shows online ?
Paddy was annoying and the actress is shit and was only on the show because of her mum
@@rosslamb6643 the same with lexie Patterson "pepe Trevor" her mum marie Trevor worked on the show didn't realise about the actress who played paddy though.
@@Davidjohnson-o6g Her mum never worked on the show but was a well known stage actress in her time so that's how she got the role because of her mother's credentials. It's like when Madonnas daughter is on the red carpet, I am thinking can they get that talentless irrelevant off it.
@@rosslamb6643 she did actually she directed some of the episodes around the same time her daughter appeared on the show she wasn't just an actress "FACT".
I adore Pasty King, her ability to make Erica seem so complex is amazing she involved in almost all the story lines mainly is its to reprimand the prisoner's hardly anything personal but she brings so much more and her plus vocabulary is on point too :)
MRS DAVIDSON TALKS LIKE QUEEN ELIZABETH 2ND
Pasty?
@@stevenmcghee6649
Yes! She's Italian!😂
@@Nacho-Mamma lol. Love that.
So Lizzie's 60 years of cunning amounts to her getting caught straight away 🤣
Meg didn't search Baz. Fair enough, but could it not be that they were his own cigs and therefore not suspicious!?
Exactly. I was thinking the same thing!
Very smart
But he shouldn’t be giving them packets of cigarettes, whether his or not , it’s still classed as smuggling
@@acesigma06 yeah but Meg shouldn't have received such backlash from the department
Yeah it was hardly smack or coke
These are the episodes I can remember more. Only a teenager but staying up to watch it 😂😂
Haha same 😂
Did Maxine make a fart joke?? LMAO!!!!!
Poor Paddy. They didn't even bother to try giving her cpr 😆
I wouldn't have she was annoying
Exactly. High probability they could have brought her back
@@rosslamb6643 I am with you! Another annoying character gone. Drowning is a good way to kill a Claustrophobic, practically poetry.
She was dead.
Yep they didn't even try...geez
I used to watch this show with my late mum, it was her favourite.
Lizzie's dramatic gasps as she tells Bea and everyone else about Meg Morris being sacked--brilliant. She's very convincing that she's upset and out of breath.
You do understand why Lizzie gasps like she can't catch her breath, don't you? Sheila Florence had been diagnosed with lung cancer at this point. The whole Woodridge fall & hospitalization of Lizzie was a spur of the moment script change so Sheila could begin her radiation treatment. But, she was a stubborn old lush and insisted on doing those few short hospital scenes just to keep her hand in it. She was the perfect example of someone being dedicated to her art.
@@Nacho-Mamma I noticed way back she had serious lung issues. Sad but she still kept smoking in the show. She loved her fags and grog in real life it seems.
Couldn't Nola have bumped off Trixie instead. What's the point in the character, she never shuts up always involved in every single conversation.
Or even Ferguson
Trixie, after Bea threatens her for every idiotic, snide comment she makes: "What are you yelling at me for? I'm just trying to mind my own business, and do my time so I can get out of this joint!
(hole, dump, lousy stinking place, etc..... She keeps randomly changing "joint" with one of the other names I've listed above.)
Frankly, I will Bea would thump the bloody stupid cow in her gizzard!
Go Erica, love watching her in full ranting flight. What an actress Patsy King was. You tell that buffoon Douglas!
bea smacked the taste out of trixies mouth hahaha!!! Rip paddy!! smh
Paddy was an irritant
That new Social Worker lasted about 5 minutes !
Really hope Mrs M doesn't leave.
Alan Mclay That explains why I forgot about his presence. Having been through this series multiple times I wondered why I couldn't recall him. That'll be why.
He looks terribly boring anyway, we already had a boring social worker, then a boring teacher.
It’s a shame that the social workers that they’ve had (Bill Jackson, Jean Vernon and Paul Reid) didn’t last for a long time, likewise with the teacher, David Andrews. 😲
30:13 GOD! its like saying, 'my daddies bigger than your daddy'. Judy is such a big baby...who runs and walks like shes got a nappy on. 😅😂😂😂
8:59 "Have the police questioned McVenzie?" another of Erica's trademark line fluffs, love it
I love that with this show. Not that Paddy died, But I love that no one is safe. It's like in GOT your favorite character might not survive the next episode Lol
When Po face didn't search the soft drinks nothing was said or done. They love picking on Meg.
Pretty much the same when po face left turps lying around too 🤔
Unbelievably Powell never gets a bashing by one of the inmates either
Erica was just as much at fault as Powell for storing the turps. Erica knew about it and made no suggestion where to put them
Lizzie: Well I can't help it if I've got extra sharp hearing, LMAO
18th June 2023.
5th Dec 2023 😉
At 35:48 Judy looks so overweight in that huge lumberjack shirt and tent jacket. Why didn’t the producers keep her with the nice dresses and styled hair, like when released in 1981?
Judy put on more weight throughout the show.
Poor paddy I wish she could of been released along with her boyfriend and had a lovely life.
If Meg ends up leaving then the whole place will be plunged into further chaos. She does influence calm over the women, at least to some extent, and in the end their mood is what affects the smooth (or not so smooth) running of the prison. I am glad Judy got off. Her sister was smart to change her mind about pressing charges. She knew what was at stake and the last thing she wanted to risk was ending up inside with Judy. She would have had the whole of H Block on her back.
8ballpoolking1 inside job reprimanding Meg would stay in DDepartment and will not b a media issue causing an embarrassment to the big D
I pretty good myself in 8 ball
Poor Andy how do they tell him paddy s dead
Poor Andy!???
It's his fault she's back in the slammer!
He came to her after his dumbass escape!
@@raw_oyster Exactly. If it wasn't for weak-assed Andy, Paddy would've still been alive.
@@raw_oyster No, it isn't. She _chose_ to run away with him.
@@daviddemarco8327 it was Nola that was responsible not Andy
Andys gay anyway
45:03
Why is Colleen always referred to as Off. Powell in the credits? And not by her first name, as Meg, Erica and Joan are?
45:10
I see someone stuffed up. And credited Mr. Douglas as being Ian Stewart, instead of Ian Smith 😂
soon changes from Off Powell - Colleen
It’s Off. Barry too for many years
Why didnt they give Patty CPR they coulve saved her life. They gave it to Lizzie... My fav show ever so epic
I am glad they didn't Paddy lagged on the women to the social worker for smokes. She obviously didn't learn her lesson. And the actress is rubbish.
@@rosslamb6643 she was lovely.
@@lucyllewellyn2850 She lagged on the women ?? she's a traitor and the actress is shite
Her lungs were full of water. CPR would have made zero difference
Poe face said "she's dead" and just shrugged..no one else gave a stuff
bea and nola my 2 fave charaters 😊
Surely being searched should be standard procedure if working in a prison when entering and leaving??? I work in a meat factory and we get searched when leaving, no one cries about it
the freak looks a little nervous at 31:38
Erica's cold, withering look (last scene) - TV gold
Jude was quiet abrupt with girl sitting down when meg came in
Maxie, " Hey Bea, what's a five letter word for idiot?" Me to Maxie, "How about Moron."
Or in this case "How about MAXIE"
@38:32 the way Lorna is looking at Lizzie lololol
+rayman760 HAHAHA She reminded me of my oldest cat when she was a kitten. She'd get closer and closer to my dad while he napped sitting up (this was before he got a breathing machine so he snored and wheezed like crazy). He'd finally snort and she'd run away.
Joan spills beans too ian lol
Nola is a great character! Its a shame she is'nt around for more episodes.
In my memory she was around for ages. I'm sure she was top dog for a while after Bea got transferred to Barnhurst and Morag dethroned her. 🤔
her sister smashed a vase on her head, no witnesses, Judy should claim she was attacked and retaliated.......duh?
Erica’s face at the end though…
I hate it when meg says "I dont believe it, i mean whose she been taken lessons off of, victor meldrew from (bbc one foot in a grave). lol
Ted Douglas isn't exactly all squeaky clean as he makes out... all will be revealed soon.
Wouldn't there have been a rule against Erica speaking to Judy and her solicitor before testifying for the prosecution? I am pretty sure that wouldn't have been allowed in the 1980s.
Lovely lemon flavour lol
Quite heartbreaking what she said to Paddy, "Hazels dead, but you will do.."She was determined to kill someone to stop her going back to Western Australia and the death sentence
She wound up dead anyway no matter what she did
Nola didn’t say to Paddy that Hazel was dead.
Nola didn’t use that word to Paddy about Hazel.
Poor Paddy 😢. I 'll miss her too.
I really liked her.
Paddy dying was funny
I won't and the women got over her death quick.
How many more times is Meg going to threaten to resign?
This episodes just get better and better
Judy turned up expectin to go to court dressed n lookin like THAT???
Queen G they made her so ugly, and she isn’t! I want to do a makeover so bad ! 😢
@@kathleenhager9937 i know right... coz shes actually got the potential to b a beautiful woman!!! i mean really beautiful. u think like me... one of my trades many moons ago was beauty advisor... theres a few of em id like to do this to. but u dont turn up at court in a flanno etc ffs!!! altho ive ended up there a few times even covered in mud from livin on the streets but thats a whole nother story lol... love, hugs n Happy New Year xxx
she looks like she's just gotten off a shift on the bins
Uh it's a prison The women are supposed to look unattractive, and remember Judy was gay, back when it wasn't acceptable ( a crime in your Country, mental illness in ours) Today things have changed of course but I do agree ( even then) she should've dressed at least in a pantsuit ! I am a makeup 💄 fanatic too and think everyone looks better with makeup, but they really didn't have advisor's. The scissors being pulled was deadly! The women in jail in Upstate NY here get clever using colored pencils for eyeliner and instant coffee for mascara. But in prisons you can use makeup if bought there ; is it not the same there? As for smoking it was banned completely here everywhere, except in ones home. Even apartments outside only! Forbidden in country jail. Prison allowed if bought there but only outside. No I've never been 😂am a writer and huge fan of Cell block H
@@maribethstern8023 actually real prisoners were interviewed n asked wot they thought of it n they were like.... why havent they got makeup? real prisoners did!
Why does meg even bother talking to Joan?
Powell is just as bad for being hot and cold
In one Fell Swoop a lot of likeable characters disappear :Barbara Mouse and Paddy. Speaking of disappearance one thing that bothers me is how characters disappear all of a sudden for several episodes and then reappear. Paddy is one example, she disappeared throughout most of the episode only to appear in time to be drowned .and where did Margo go? she was taken out of the rec-room to go somewhere and we haven't heard hide nor hair of her since. wish they would at least explain where the characters went so that we know what happened to them.
Margo was probably sent to another maximum security prison. I was thinking the prison that appears in the last season of the show.
@@KenyanBunnie I'm not trying to be a spoiler here but when Margo comes back for a few episodes later on it turns out she was sent to Barnhurst. After that she was removed once again and sent to Blackmoor. Jane Clifton was already thinking about leaving the show so I guess that's the way they wrote her out ;but I think they could have given her a better exit.
How many times is it Meg has resigned now? Its weekly.
It’s a yo-yo resignation just like her yo-yo knickers
@@Redsleather😂
I wonder if anyone buys those clothes in the half way house.
"Social work is mainly common sense Judy and you certainly have enough of that." What an insult from the writers. As a social worker, I have actually found the social workers on PCBH quite comic. I can laugh at my profession, but this is pure insult;
Cathy Faruque I agree with you one hundred percent. Personally, I wouldn't expect any less from Erica Davidson. After all, she is the most condescending person on this show.
Even if it were true, Judy has always shown a lack of common sense. She wouldn't have gotten herself put inside if she had common sense. I do like Judy, at least in original form, till they made her go all peacenik.
This place has gone to the dogs! I can't wait until the showdown between Bea and Nola! They CAN'T get rid of Meg! I'm surprised Judy didn't dress up more for court. Bea you tell them all that Fergo will leave one way or the other if Meg leaves!
@Heather Elliott I believe Judy no longer has any nice clothes in the show, because she once did, which is strange that she doesn’t have any now.
Judy dressed and fix herself real nice when she was out before. I remember thinking wow, she is very beautiful with her hair flipped back like that.
RIP Betty
Lizzy: Well I can't help it if I have extra sharp hearing. I love these one liners.
It's weird the receptionist doesn't warn them about mad Furgsen she irrates me
Even Joan looks shocked at 6:14
Lizzie earsdropping
Bitch is the most-used word in Prisoner, no doubt
Or bastard 😂
Love Davo's "oh really?" look at 44:55 lol
Obviously, it's contract renewal time with the quick successive exits of Margo in 334, Chrissie and Hazell in 338, Paddy in 339, and Trixie doesn't appear again after 340.
Was Paddy about the same age as Debbie would have been? I am guessing Debbie was sixteen when she died in 1978, so this is 1983 so Debbie would be twenty one, I figure out Paddy was around that age.
It would be funny if Judy shared a cell with her sister and then Jude gets released and her sister is stuck with Bea
If Meg had seen the cigarettes the social worker would have just said that they were his. It's a storm in a teacup.
38:27 - Lizzie fart!
Yes but they would have been held for him until the interview concluded...in the real world anyhow.
The shot of Paddy's dead face has changed...look at the end of EPs 338!
Why did Judy and Mr Askin leave the front door open? 😄
That stern look from Erica! 44:56
R.i.p paddy I like her shame she was good.
If only Meg was serious about leaving :'(
ya smart aleky trollop - classic lizzie
Paddy, Chrissie, Hazel and Gaffney all gone. Only Bea, Lizzie and Maxine are familiar faces.
They kept the Joan Ferguson character way too long. They should have gotten rid of her long before the last episode. The character out ran its time and I think they made a huge mistake leaving her on right up until the last episode.
I have watched and re watch all of these episodes since 2010 on both here and Foxtel and it sickens me to watch the Joan Ferguson character knowing she was a sick and sadistic freak in her real life!
Really how so? ( From America)
@@maribethstern8023 Are you serious? The character played out the same corrupt and evil scenes over and over to a point where it got so boring and tedious because you just know what's gonna happen next.
Agreed. 1984 would have been the perfect time to axe Ferguson but no, Grundy’s didn’t have the nerve and I’m sure Kirkpatrick’s pay packet was big enough to carry on
Why did they not resuscitate paddy?
They cant keep a simple SCOREBOARD ffs 😂
Well Joan has a good point if Latham cared about her baby she wouldn't be in jail.
Good to see Judy making an effort for court!
She does end up back inside though then we'll get a respite from the halfway house at last.
Don't leave Meg. I don't think I could stand to see you come back next time as a dentist or something.
Wasn't Bea lagging at the start?
That stinks, Patty didn't do anything and she was just about to get out of prison! I hope Nola gets hers!!
No matter how grim the plot Lizzie always manages to make me smile - an amazing actress
What's the point in this Trixie character, how she has a say in every single conversation that goes on between the prisoners. She doesn't shut up.
Who did she play before?
Nola is supposed to be in solitary yet the bed is a normal prison bed rather than the flimsy canvas bed that is usually used in the solitary cells.
after the dead of Paddy and ferguson getting away with so much, and what they did to chrissie.......this show is getting to me. it's all sooooooooooooo negative I can hardly stand it .
I'm sorry you feel that way, Kystars. I afraid and I agree, that Prisoner has its negative moments here and there, and it's stupid, crazy moments too. Hehe.
Since Joan's arrival it's gotten worse, I agree, but please do stick with it as there's still a lot to enjoy despite the negative affect Joan has on the show.
I stuck with it and I enjoyed it up to somewhere in the 600's. I think it was just under the midway mark of the 600's that it definitely seemed to have lost its way, and it had become a shadow of its former self and it had run out of steam. Just my opinion though. Hehe. 😃
Yes this was a GREAT SHOW in the early years. Ann is ok as governor, and cute, but I miss the first one, can't think of her name right now ugh, but when she would say BLAST haha that always cracked me up. but she was very believable as governor , and Bea was there, Lizzie , it was a classic. NOW NOBODY READ THIS... I don't want to RUIN THE STORY.........spoiler alert......
I didn't like the way they just said Bea died in a riot. wow.
She was so tough, but yet at the end, she just went up in a puff of
smoke like she was nothing.. Ferguson got rid of her, she seemed so weak also when she got beat up.. but 2 old hags, she didn't put up much of a fight. I just didn't like the way they had her just look like a wimp at the end, then you hear she died. oh man
yes and not to mention they use the SAME people all the time. like the former guard, he died in the dryer, now she is back as a prisoner. we can see folks! and many other who played multiple parts. I am bored with the people always playing different parts. The Florist later is judge and so on .
krystars ... thank you for the spoiler alert... i didnt read it... i so wish more people would do this... one guy a few episodes ago COMPLETELY gave away the ending. i tagged the owner and am hoping theyll remove his comment... a LOT of ppl were pissed off... i called him the C word so hopefully that will push things along a bit as i said that in my tag too lol xxx
Ann Yates who was the person who died in the dryer, was originally a prison guard who was fired, but her character was arrested and came back as a prisoner (which was when she died in the dryer). They were not two separate characters. She was Ann Yates as was a prison guard and Ann Yates as a prisoner.
Nola’s face gives me the creeps. I really can’t stand that woman.
Poor Judy. I feel so sorry for her. Bea is the BEST at playing hardball!!
LoL,the whole staff is completely clueless whats going on.
Install some secret cameras and mics and they would fall in coma...
MrCheatreporter
Things like secret cameras and CCTV weren't so common back then.
Ozlass ... even three decades ago they HAD them in maximum security prisons
Lizzie the poisoner delivering Nola's tray
how many points will they lose for murder haha
R..I.P Paddy
Lorna looking at Lizzie asleep. 😂
43:51 Something made the actress that plays Maxine laugh. She's trying to hold it in.
I thought at least Bea's dead husband could've interrogated Bea. 1150: Douglas to the Freak, if we only had more officers like you. If they had more officers like the Freak. There would be more dead prisoners and probably staff.
23:30 What happened to the no prison uniform. At the halfway house? Meggiepops. 13/1/20.
Poor meg 😥😥😥
They should have put Frances in Wentworth.
what's with the regular bed in solitary instead of the cot.
Patrick Nabors maybe because they couldn't put Nola in isolation since it's still under construction? So they had to turn her solitary cell into an isolation cell?
boweryboy07 but they were putting her in the pound, maybe the new prison has regular beds in solitary. Shame they couldn’t install in-cell toilets in the new wentworth..
those cots would never have been allowed in a maximum security prison even then. they can be used as a weapon. all u get in solitary tis a bench attached to the wall... not even a blanket
i love prisoner it is the best
Even the Freak is shocked by how evil Nola is after murdering Paddy.
Did Lizzie tell Bea Chrissie transferred
I thought Chrissy was getting paroled in a few months? Anyway she will get out and be with her little girl then. Elizabeth is around three now isn't she?. I liked Chrissy, I'll miss her. If Vera will keep her away from Janey, Marie and Margo she can get out in time.
Did her brother end up getting custody or did she get her adopted out? Can't remember. I know she signed some papers he and his wife brought in but can't recall what they said.
