Watch 'Blue Whisper - The Fascinating World Beneath the Waves' here: • Blue Whisper - The Fas...
Countless marine animals frolic on the steep slopes of underwater volcanoes. In many cases, several are rare species not found elsewhere. This is in part due to the fact that plankton clings to the wall and provides the fish with food in abundance. This documentary shows several of these oases and also examines the impact dive tourism has and whether preventive measures can help to maintain them.
Nature and underwater filmmaker Rolf Möltgen undertakes dives into the mysterious underwater mountain landscapes with marine scientists from all corners of the globe. This journey takes us to Mexico, to snappers, white-tip reef sharks, Galapagos sharks and giant mantas. We visit the Maldives, Colombia and Costa Rica, where the team documents rare species such as deep sea burbots, small tooth sand tiger and dogfish sharks, in depths of more than 300 metres.
The eerie underwater mountain world proves: everyone plays a part in the network of life. Thanks to consistent protective regulations, it has been possible to retain the underwater diversity - especially in the unique oases of the high seas.

Underwater Volcanoes Oases of the Sea.
Every species as a role to play in the net of life
Marine exploitation has torn a hole in the net but some of the holes are being mended. Oceanic oasis like the ones we visit, led by Marine biologist Zapata Lopez, are leading to new discoveries and new hope to restore the delicate balance of marine life. With the help of underwater volcanoes 🌋
Scientists still have much to learn about the location and activity of underwater volcanoes. In the first two decades of this century, NOAA's Office of Ocean Exploration has funded exploration of submarine volcanoes, with the Ring of Fire missions to the Mariana Arc in the Pacific Ocean being particularly noteworthy. Using Remote Operated Vehicles (ROV), scientists studied underwater eruptions, ponds of molten sulfur, black smoker chimneys and even marine life adapted to this deep, hot environment.
Our documentary joins an international team of scientists on the ship Solmar 5 among some
Of the trips, to an underwater volcano off the coast of Mexico.
The Marine Mountains Roca Partida is just one of 100,000 marine mountains rising from the sea bed. Many are still virtually unknown.
What we do know is that these formations attract large numbers of fish. Mexican marine biologist Zapata Lopez leads the way to new discoveries and we’re along for the discoveries.
Enjoy!

Wonderful documentary 👌👍
Could you please try to find any videos of the Mid Atlantic Ridge ?
Said to be the longest mountain range on the planet , it must be a Wonderland for Underwater life .
Unfortunately , I can't find any video exploring this treasure and I would be grateful if you can do so 🙏

Is it just known that ppl watch these documentaries when they're stressed out or something? Is that why I always see these kinds of comments?
This has been one of the best videos I've seen on RUclips....... amazing!
More people need to realize the importance of keeping the oceans safe from over fishing.
Don't forget pollution.
Amazing Video Thanks For The Upload The Ocean Is A Beautiful Place
It really is. Thanks for stopping by btw 🥰
@@FreeDocumentaryNature I’ve got a tricky question: can civilians hop in the subs with the researchers? I don’t like putting my head underwater but I’d love 2 experience these things
Amazing documentary with nice narratives. Interesting to watch.
I have always wanted to dive with manta rays. That’s so amazing, great doco all around
Big thank to your filming of this nature's wonder and awesome sea creatures...this may save them..
I had a stressful day and I came across this. Even though I haven't watched even half of it, I know it's going to help.
Wow. Totally floored - I love to see shark footage like this. No need to queue up the ominous and suspenseful music or focus on bloody kills, just respect for one of the world's finest animals! Plus I learned a new shark! I know what with there being so many hundreds of species that doesn't sound like a big deal, but sharks have been my #1 favorite animal since before I was even in preschool....and I'm not young.
Thank you for posting!
An excellent documentary, not quite ruined by the incessant adverts so am happy to recommend subject to you having a "Skip Ads" button!"
"To avoid injury to their skin, manta rays should not be touched"
16:43 diver is touching the manta ray smh
Under water. So how can it hurt them? How are they flying?
@@elavke5441 what does being underwater have to do with it?
The oils of our bodies destroy the mucus membrane of the mantas and I’ve seen hand prints and finger marks scarred into mantas bodies from people petting and touching them. Don’t touch the mantas!
@@dawnmoore3584 I actually didn't know that, thank you Dawn. People can be so selfish.
Wow this amazing I'd like to see more of these are really informative and also perfect for me to share my love for sea life

I hope, with the help of wonderful documentaries like this, scientists will be able to discover and learn more about the deep and vast ocean before it's too late.
When I heard Paul's voice I almost mistook this for a Sigurd film as Paul has narrated many films for him. In about three weeks, I have probably seen a large geigle of ocean dwelling movies/ documentaries. I'm running out of one's to watch on RUclips. If anybody could Point me in the direction of being able to see a plethora even if I have to pay a subscription would be most welcome. I just can't seem to get enough about Oceanic Aquatic Life as well as the surrounding areas that inhabit anything such as Islands seamounts fjords scaries and others. I do have to admit deep sea Aquatic Life is my absolute favourite. Most specifically the jellies\ cnidarians and cephalopods but I love the Sharks. Many of these creatures are absolutely adorable. Well, except maybe... Viperfish. They have a face only a mother could love ♥️♥️♥️
Fascinating, as always with this channel!! Paul Bendelow is simply wonderful! Excellent tone, inflections, & descriptions are simple & diverse..would make a wonderful successor to Attenborough (Legendary of course, he's got nothing left to prove..he has enriched all our lives forever). When he gracefully steps dwn or retires, it'd be nice to see Bendelow take over th reins..always incredible cinematography with this group of filmmakers...thank you for another marvelous show!! 🌋🐟🐚🌴

Having fulfilled his lifelong dream of swimming with Josh and Susan Powell of Providence Rhode Island, the Manta returned home and scratched one more item off his bucket list.

Great depth of under sea information. Thanks.
WOW THANK YOU FOR SHARING. HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Fantastic! Thank you!
Adoro todos os documentários que sejam da vida selvagem marinha, especialmente quando aparecem tubarões-baleia, todo tipo de tubarões e para não esquecer as raias-mantas, obrigado e forte Abraço de 🇵🇹.
Fascinating!
Love the ocean
THIS MUSIC DRIVES ME CRAZY!
Wow. Every bit of this was absolutely stunning. I had no idea there were so many types of sharks and admittedly I did not know what a manta was nor have I ever seen a sailfish. Thank you for uploading this wonderful documentary. I love watching these while I eat dinner. The perfect way to wind down and at the same time get super educated on stuff.
Carlos Loff Fonseca, Lisbon. Superb work of the uw world I am familiarised with in Cabo Verde islands, Mozambique coast line, Red Sea Islands. Thanks a lot.

Beautiful very good dost ❤ amazing 😍
Great Job, 👍
We know nothing about this planet. We must be open to learn and take care of this planet above and below ground. Came here today as one of these underground volcanoes exploded today in the Pacific creating a tsunami near Tonga and a warning has been issued all the way to west coast US. We should protect this planet and all its habitats.
Devine and Beautiful 👍🏻👌🏻
Very activated barely a inconvenience
I really love this documentary, well done
It's good having these resources, and should be free to watch for everyone so thank you. These are very informative and really interesting. This is one form to educate the uneducated on our planet and the creatures that inhabit it with us fellow humans. It gets people wanting to learn and educate themselves which in turn is a wonderful thing and also a way to help save our animals on our planet as using ignorance as a excuse to pretend we don't know the plight of most of our creatures on the planet are being either hunted or exploited for us humans to basically feel like we are the superior species on the planet.
I really enjoy learning about nature and our fellow creatures on this planet so thank you again and keep up the good videos to educate the uneducated or just the people curious on a subject called nature 😊

I wonder what this Mexican sea rock (island) was like when it was at its largest area of extent? What unique species of flora and fauna once lived on it?
Makes me have a deeper respect for sea life and the ocean in general. 💎
how i wish humans would stop harassing wild life of all kinds.. they are studying them into extinction imo. tourists just compound the problems of wild life . beautiful video.. thanks .
That’s not necessarily true. The extinction of the oceanic world is not from studying the ocean but from fishing in it.
Check out Seaspiricy for a further breakdown on how we’re killing our oceans.
amazing Documentray
The scientists were like “it’s a shame and I’d rather stay home, but we’ll have to go on that yacht research trip with the private chefs again this year! It’s a fifty year study that we have to monitor in person a few times a year.”
It’s not very often field work is that comfortable lol and I feel like these scientists know they are a bit blessed compared to most field work.
Quá hay anh ỏi👍👏👍🔔❤❤❤
Notice the sedimentary rock layers forming a cliff behind the manta. That must've been dry for centuries! Brill. Stick that in ur fossil record!
Awesome videos thank you please keep them coming. 😊
I think the manta rays get tickled by the bubbles and that’s why they like it

It's the plural form according to Merriam Webster.
@@legionofyuri thanks! I just searched the comments looking for an answer to the same question!
Yeah, beautiful. Fer sure .
But since when do submerged mountains bob for the surface ? they sound closer to Hawaii than Mexico, though they did very quick shot to pinpoint. Those animals are too many, too close to the surface, too many species to be in that concentration of area, and too many would eat the other and most would be avoiding such a fictionalized place teeming to be with.
And plankton coming closer to surface is great but they're upsetting food chain system and the water is green . It's not supposed to be that color.
