Video I took showing the landing at Page Municipal Airport in Page, AZ - a small town that lies adjacent to Lake Powell and Glen Canyon. The video starts as we fly over part of the Grand Canyon and then skips to the final descent into Page which offered great views of the many canyons along the Colorado River. This was my first time flying on Contour Airlines and I was very impressed. The service was very good and of course the flight over the beautiful Arizona scenery was an added bonus.
I was so disappointed on the way back, I'm going back up there in the future to retake the landing. I think you were on a different Contour Airlines aircraft. The one I was on had dirty beat up windows. It affected me on the way back because the sun was right in my face. The entire or most of the landing video was all blurry. I tried to get it to refocus, but the camera wanted to focus only on the dirt. Will still upload, but I am going back in the future to retake the landing. Was going to go back anyways so that I can go to the lake and to Glenn Canyon Dam. I landed the same way you did on RWY 33.
No Way! They fly regional jets to Page? Now I want to buy tickets and go there. Last I looked, they were dirt cheap. I always thought they flew a turboprop up to there. Do they serve drinks on this flight?
Contour's service started shortly after Great Lakes went under. Great Lakes had been serving this airport with Beech 1900s for years. As for the in-flight service, it was actually very nice for an airline this small. They served beverages, and also came through with a basket of snacks to choose from. Overall, the entire experience was really nice, and the prices for tickets aren't bad at all.
