Thanks for watching! I had a blast making this video and look forward to bringing y'all many more. Let me know if there are any games y'all would like to see me cover in the future!
Jesus, gaming history lessons went from a minute talk to a high quality 20 minute video full of laughs in 2 months. I am beyond excited for the next one, excellent job man.
Dude I thought this video had hundreds of thousands or even millions of views, after I watched it, it turned out to be only 420. Good luck on your youtube journey!
i’ve always wanted a wii u in my youth, it was so cool to me back then, hearing that the wii u failed put me in disbelief to what i thought the wii u would become. now i feel like i missed out on the few great games that the console had. i have a soft spot for that generation of consoles. i’m gonna find a wii u and 3ds and remember those good days
It really does feel unfair that the Wii U didn't do well. Lucky for you there's still plenty of ways to still relive those glory days! Really appreciate you watching the video btw, thanks for coming by!
Love the vid! There were some audible gafaws heard in my home while watching this, haha. Can't wait for more! WiiU came out around a time where my focus really started to lean more to PC, plus the launch titles just didn't intruige me enough. It was the first Nintendo consol that I didn't bother to get in year 1. That said, in year 2, I went through a hard hitting break up and needed some retail therapy. Got my hands on a WiiU and games (plus a new TV and 3DS XL). The console got me through a rough couple months with Mario Kart 8, Hyrule Warriors, and a few others. Jumping back and forth between the WiiU and PC in it's lifespan, I didn't really FEEL the console's lackluster performance, and in fact it was in it's last year that I was really confused when reviewers would call it a failed system. As with all my consols it has a memory attached to it. It will always remind me of a time in my life where I tempered my expectations of other people, amd how I chose happiness of myself as a priority again.
Tony! Means a lot that you enjoyed the video. I appreciate you sharing the story. The Wii U was also my last console before transitioning to PC! I love that consoles can hold such solid memories from our lifetimes. It makes me really happy to hear how you found a way to stay grounded during such a trying situation, and I love that it came in the form of a video game console!
The Wii U was honestly very underrated. I loved that thing! Wind Waker HD was one of my most played games on it. That and Mario 3D World. Still patiently waiting for them to make SOMETHING out of Wind Waker. (Please, Nintendo!)
Amazing video!!! I never had the Wii U and never played a lot of these games, but I loved experiencing it through you!!! So much joy and enthusiasm and your lovely personality (and Samina's lovely personality) shining through. Can't wait for more!!!!
While the Wiiu wasn't a commercial success, I really enjoyed my Wiiu. Games like Zombiu, Smash Bros, Xenoblade X, Bayonetta 2 (one of my fav games of all time) and many others were just gems that were enjoyable. One thing about Miiverse that I liked was that you could actually send messages to your friends, even if you did have to log into it to check it. I don't know why you can't even send a message to a friend on the Switch which just baffles me.
Absolutely. I had so much fun with my Wii U and I know so many others did too. I didn't know that about miiverse! It really is unfortunate how much online has been stripped down through the years
@@TheDavidWhitfield I feel like Nintendo are still a bit hesitant to not let us communicate and send messages to friends due to that 3ds letterbox incident where the young girl in Japan got targeted by child predators. Unfortunate for that to happen but that sort of thing can happen online anywhere when you chat to random people.
Great video! Learned a lot about the Wii U even though I had one. Even though the Wii U may have fallen short as a console for many, I still got more than my money's worth out of just Smash Bros and BOTW.
Pilot episode...Houston we've had a successful launch. Love the opening...."I'm going in." Great director's commentary, wonderful soundtrack, editing, great supporting cast members, and that really, sexy Bayonetta!! Wowza! Can't wait for the next episode!
A wonderful video from an even wonderfuller person. The U holds a special place in my heart (as does everything Nintendo does, frankly) and this did it justice. I'll be waiting for the next!
Well hello xerxes if you dont recognize me im explodedglue550 nice video BTW w101 was a hidden gem in the wii u but it also used the wii u SO WELL that to its detriment you can actually tell it plays best on wiiu but that's manageable because wonder-red being a crazy dude that can memorize EVERYONES TITLE is always funny. Not gonna lie I got to experience the wii u in all its glory and with smash bros for 3ds too! Not gonna lie switch felt kinda minimal nothing really outstanding and that could give it some personality which is what always kept me entertained knowing that while these consoles weren't all that powerful they were made with passion and with the switch I didn't feel that which is sad but I was there when the wii u was alive and well and honestly while it wasn't all that great with its games it has the best emulation and history to nintendo games and they have free online service this console is a wonderful creation but it was caught in a bad time with somewhat bad marketing too because they didn't sell the wiiu in the ads they got you convinced on the games but then you realized oh right I need a wiiu... and you shrugged and kept moving unless a game caught your eye like bayo did and now its a gem that many people realized how much missed potential there was
Great to see you Glue! I really appreciate you watching and taking the time to share your thoughts. You're absolutely right. So much potential. A lot of it wasn't used but some of it was. I knew you would recognize that W101 is a great example of how great the Wii U could be. I'm glad that there are still people out there that understand that, and hopefully more people each day can learn about it.

Soooo much nostalgia from when we played the Wii U after every day of senior year…good times man
Such good times. Absolutely some of my fondest memories

Although I never had a Wii U, I’m glad existed because of the influence it’s had on the future of Nintendo. Great video!

Hmm I'd never heard about that, I'll have to look up more info on it. Online safety really is such a tough thing to get right

At least the Wii U performed well in our hearts!
