Oh man prayers sent I had one pup that it happened to. She had surgery close to 4000 dollars, she was only three. We lost her recently but that surgery gave us another 9 years with my Lucy. I miss her, good luck! 🤞

That is the only thing that would make me nervous Bert. There were places where you still have no phone service or internet. Even the Village phones have limits. Normally, there were always the pay phone which i'm sure are long gone. Its still beautiful to see even so its still so isolated in parts of Alaska. Hope your Alaskan 'field trip' was as fun as it was to watch!

Regular unleaded in my city is $5.29 a gallon and diesel is just over $6 a gallon. It is what it is and God willing things will settle down soon. Respect goes a long way. It was nice to see someone from North Pole, AK. My sister and her husband lived in Fairbanks and went to church in North Pole. I loved visiting them. They lived there for about 30 years then moved back to Ohio where family is.
My husband had a job in Hoonah in 1979. It’s on Chigagoff Island in SE Alaska. Population 1000. Air and ferry to Juneau. Klingon/Hida Native American village. My boys were in the first and third grade at the time. They loved it. All supplies were flown or shipped in from Seattle ( we were from the Seattle area). As Bert said, it’s like you have been thrown back in time a 100 years. Great experience. Now smaller cruise ships go their…. it’s known as Icy Straits Point. We did take our boys and their families back on a cruise in 2011.

I always think that you guys live in a pretty rural area - but seeing Aniak got me thinking about where I live in London. Mind boggling in comparison - we are squashed together like sardines in a can! Always love the content of your channel - thank you!

I am hopefully going to be up there the second week of September I pray I have my hernia surgery 16th of August hopefully stay a month work on the house fly back down depending on weather drive back up. I got a kick out of the comment about Birch Lake. I was stationed at Eielson AFB in the early 90's and lived in North Pole. During the summer months...a good number of us from base would camp out and party at Birch Lake.

I would consider Aniak a town as it is still kinda small to be a city. As size goes for place from smallest to largest: Hamlet -> village -> town -> city -> metropolis
Big difference between "sport" hunting and fishing, and "subsistence". One you do for fun. The other you do to survive. More people in the lower 48 are going to be learning this if the economy keeps tanking.
I had a job interview today, and it's one of those "looks amazing on paper, but not necessarily in reality" Several red flags. They seem to really want me, which is concerning because I didn't do that well, and don't have a lot of relevant experience. I'm literally scared, but I'm afraid to turn it down. I have another one tomorrow, which would probably be a better fit, but it's too far away unless they offer amazing pay and benefits, and one next week for super part-time. This is more stressful than I thought it would be.
I do think our grandma thought same thing and they made buy we all be ok. Cause god always looks after us ! This nit knew we can do it ! . My grandma when she came to Canada from Malta 🇲🇹 she mad five cents a ox work and they did we all will be ok ! Just no taking thing for granted like we do ! No eating out more family times that good
