Any difference if you set it at the virtual switch setting?
As long as the switch port is set to allow the VLAN ID that you set in the network adapter, either method should work.
Usually, these configurations are done at the switch layer, but sometimes there are situations where you need to do them on the network adapter.

@@danny_moran Thanks. Can share your experiences under what situations that we need to do it on the network adapter...tks.
This is commonly used when you want to override the VLAN ID that the switchport is set to.
If the switch port is on VLAN 10, but you want the device to be on VLAN 20, then doing this would override what the switch port was set to. The switch port still needs to be able to access that VLAN, but this is a way to change the VLAN.

Hi Danny. may i ask u what is the using of Vlan ID and when I will need to change the ID of that Vlan?. Thanks
VLANs allow you to split up a single physical network into multiple virtual networks. For this to work correctly, you need networking hardware that supports VLANs.
There are loads of guides online going over the use case for VLANs and how they work, so you should have a look into the technology if you're not familiar with it, as it's used quite heavily in enterprise environments.
