The option you propose as "plausible" at around 6:30 is indeed the correct option. Paul is saying that the elect Jews and elect Gentiles together make up all Israel that shall be saved. He is speaking of "the Israel of God".

@@phenom5075Actually you can and the Bible is clear that Abraham, being from Sumeria (Mesopotamia) "became" the first Jew through faith. He had multiple sons, but it was not an ethnic (hereditary) passing on of them being a Jew, rather...it was of faith (spiritual) promise for Isaac, and later his son Jacob, and his son, Judah, Benjamin, & Levi. (Descendants of the existing Jews).

@@phenom5075 I'm afraid you are incorrect if we use your application in scripture, then Abraham was not Hebrew but Sumerian...he made covenant with the Lord as he crossed over. My grandfather was Sephardic Jewish, but that doesn't make one Jewish as that is counted from the mother's side OR you spiritually/religiously convert. What you're doing is attempting to sound like you know by transposing semantics. So the question you would have to ask, what religion was Avram practicing when he became Abraham? Clearly, it's Judaism. What you're using is smoke and mirrors, that would be like saying that there were no Christians, as their first name was simply, The Way or Nazarenes.

Thank you, Ryan. I usually just put this aside and plan to get back to it later. But you brought it together. ‎I have always understood that all people, Jew or Gentile, must be saved by grace through faith in Christ. ‎But I never gave it enough thought as to how that would happen. I always thought it meant in the ‎future. In Scripture, context always determines meaning. Sometimes we forget that or just gloss over it. ‎I appreciate your insight and you have just fully cleared up what "And all Israel will be saved" truly ‎means.‎

I met a Christian who believed that if you are a Jewish (not believing in Jesus, living in the OT) you are automatically saved: its your free pass into heaven . He also believed that we should rebuild a 3rd temple, reinstitute animal sacrifices and a priest hood. At the time, I was unaware that he embraced Christian Zionism and Dispensationlism. In hind sight, such theology slaps Jesus in the face.

Recent events should show many if not MOST professing American Christians believe that. In fact, I guess I thought that too cus it's what I'd been taught. This leads to a belief system that never criticizes J*ws or the current Gov't in Is**l. Like "man they seem to do some very corrupt things, don't believe in Christ, & why is our American Govt seemingly so influenced by ****"? All those questions are valid but under the theology you mentioned, "you never criticize God's people or face being cursed..".
If you read Roman's 2:28 & Roman's chapter's 9, 10 & 11 Paul seems to be writing that true Israel/Jew is anyone who's come to faith in Christ whether natural jew or not.

Now the statute of limitations is running out on this heresy and people are thinking and rejecting it. I never could understand how faithful saints suffering persecution for Jesus were willing to give up their inheritance to people who hated Him. Now it is finally turning. To understand what Paul is saying.
    First,
    Who is Israel ?
    Who is Esau ?
    Who is Jacob ?
Esau, the firstborn, is a picture of the flesh.
    Jacob the spirit.
God hates Esau the flesh he loves Jacob the spirit.
Jacob put on Esau's garments the flesh and obtained the birthright but was still Jacob.
In the wilderness, he fought with the angel, layed his head on the stone, which is Christ.
Had his name changed to Israel.
    A completed work of God.
When we come to Christ, we are given a new name written in a white stone.
Again, a completed work of God.
So, in the end, all of Israel, those who are complete in Christ, will be saved.
But there is a time of Jacobs trouble as well.
Jacob still has his birthright he hasn't taken the mark of the beast in the wilderness tribulation he has his name changed to Israel and is saved out of tribulation.
Esau, those who sell their birthright, take the mark of the beast.
He found no repentance those he sought it carefully with tears.
Today is the day of Salvation. Crucify the flesh. Follow Jesus he is the only way to heaven.
Israel those complete in Christ. Romans 9
Jacob those who have their birthright but not complete in Christ
Esau those who sell their birthright to satisfy the flesh.

Ryan, thanks, what a fresh breeze! I am glad to see that someone else has been led in very much the same way as myself! I think you are right on the money, especially about the fact that this text is centred around the Christ event and that the coming in of the gentiles refers to the generic inclusion of gentiles into God's plan of salvation! I came to the same conclusion around 2012-2013 when Romans 9-11 was the focus of my studies. I also don't think that the salvation of Israel points to some future event. The future "will be saved" can thus be understood as a logical future. I do think, however, that there is more to the salvation of "all Israel", which I think, apart from implying that believers from Israel in the time of the Christ event are saved by trusting in the atoning work of Christ, "all Israel" also includes historical Israel (that lived before the Christ event) is also saved by the atoning work of Christ in death in resurrection. I don't normally do this, but if you allow me, I have linked my two-part presentation that I have uploaded yesterday. I think it takes your exposition just a little further:

Romans Chapter 11: In its New Covenant context... There is no Plan B of salvation outside of the New Covenant Church in this passage. Plan A is found in verses 23 and 24.
In Romans 1:16 Paul said the Gospel was taken "first" to the Jews. This time period can be found in Matt. 10:5-7, and Acts 10:36-38, and Gal. 1:14-18. Many try to claim God never gave the Jews a chance to accept Christ, so there must be some Plan B of salvation before or during the Second Coming of Christ. Romans 1:16 proves they are wrong, since Paul said the Gospel went "first" to the Jews. Many ignore the fact that Peter addressed the crowd as "men of Judea", and as "men of Israel", and as "all the house of Israel" on the Day of Pentecost, when about 3,000 Israelites accepted the New Covenant fulfilled in blood at Calvary. The Gentiles were not grafted in until several years later. This passage proves Paul was right about the Gospel being taken "first" to the Jews.
Were all of the Israelites "partially" hardened in Romans 11, or were part hardened and another part were not hardened? The answer is found in the "remnant" of Romans 11:5.
Paul reveals two different groups of Israelites in Romans 9:6-8. There is an Israel of the promise, and an Israel of the flesh. This is part of the context of Romans 11.
Paul speaks about the "remnant" of Israel in Romans 9:27. This is also part of the context of Romans 11.
Paul starts Romans 11 with two different groups of Israelites. In verse one Paul reveals he is still an Israelite, even after his conversion. Then Paul refers to two different groups of Israelites during the time of Elijah. There were the Baal worshippers, and there was the faithful "remnant". In verse five Paul says there is also a faithful "remnant" of Israelites during his time. This must be the Israelites who have accepted Christ, as on the Day of Pentecost.
Paul uses the two olive trees as a symbol of the New Covenant Church made up of believing Israelites, and believing Gentiles grafted together into the same tree. The unbelieving Israelites have been broken off but can be grafted back in through faith in Christ in verses 23-24.
Verse 26 is the problem for many modern Christians. What does the verse actually say, and how is it changed by many in the modern Church.
I have heard two of our nations famous preachers say the following.
"And then all Israel will be saved..."
I have heard another say the following.
"And all Israel will be saved..."
What does God's Word, recorded by the Apostle Paul actually say?
Rom 11:26 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:
The English word "so" is translated from the Greek word "houto", which is an adverb of manner, instead of an adverb of timing. Some have changed the word from "so" to "then", in order to change the meaning of the verse.
How will all of the "remnant" of Israel from Romans 9:27 be saved? The answer is found in the verses that precede verse 26 and are found below.
Rom 11:23 And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be graffed in: for God is able to graff them in again.
Rom 11:24 For if thou wert cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and wert graffed contrary to nature into a good olive tree: how much more shall these, which be the natural branches, be graffed into their own olive tree?
Paul quoted from the OT in referring to the Deliverer coming out of Sion to pay for sin. Did this happen at Calvary, or will Jesus die again for His people in the future?
Rom 11:27 For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.
Verse 28 can only be understood by looking at how Paul started the passage. He started with two different groups of Israelites and he ends the passage in the same way. There are two different groups of "they" in verse 28. One group of "they" reject Christ and are the enemies of God, and another group of "they" are the election which accept Christ through hearing the Gospel and faith.
Rom 11:28 As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the fathers' sakes.
Based on Luke 21:24b-28, the times of the Gentiles comes to fullness at the Second Coming of Christ. This agrees with what Paul said in Romans 1:16 about the Gospel going “first” to the Jews.

I have a different take on Romans 11: by the time Jesus came on the scene, Israel had been divorced by God for a long time (Jeremiah 3:8-11; Ezekiel 16:51) so when Jesus arrived he was sent to God's intended bride, Israel's sister, Judah. I believe that if the nation of Judah had recognized her Messiah and had trusted him to deliver the prophesied kingdom, it would have resulted in the "lost sheep of the house of Israel," to be miraculously re-accepted by God who would then have re-married Israel when he married Judah to his Son in the "marriage supper of the Lamb."
The "fulness of the Gentiles" referred to the plan of the Father to use the "Greeks" to provoke the Jews to jealousy and cause them to want their Messiah as the Greeks had received him. At the end of a generation of offering the Messiah to Judah (Acts 28:28-31), that goal had obviously not been attained and that resulted in the letting go (divorce) by God of Judah in a declaration by Paul to its leading Jews. You'll recall that in the case of Mary being with child, her intended husband, Joseph, had been counseled to put her away quietly (divorce) even before they were officially married; and it's that same concept here.
The failure of the nation of Judah to agree to a marriage with the "son of the carpenter" at the close of Acts resulted in the final divorce decree by God to the nation of Israel as well in that there could be no reconciliation with either nation. All biblical prophecy relating to the nations of Judah and Israel were permanently canceled at the close of Acts; but the good news is that by the revelation of the mystery given to us through Paul (Ephesians 3:9), God concluded the entire world as being all the same and anyone not already saved by faith in God and/or his Messiah became simply sinners in need of a Saviour (Colossians 3:11) and for the first time, Gentiles (heathen) could be saved through the salvific work of Jesus Christ, and unlike the believing Jews that had still been keeping the Law of Moses during Acts (Acts 21:20) and the Gentile Greeks that had been keeping Jewish ordinances (Acts 15); and both groups that had been doing "works meet for repentance" (Acts 26:20), eternal life is now offered in the form of a completely free gift that is not of law or works (Ephesians 2:8 & 9) eternally secure in Christ (Ephesians 4:30) and the gift of the forgiveness of sins (Colossians 1:14).
It's not a mistake that the return (appearing) of Jesus Christ and his receiving of his inheritance, the kingdom (the earth reconciled and restored) will happen during the dispensation of the mystery of Ephesians and Colossians - and not during ANY resumption of prophecy! Everything changed from being national (Judah/Israel) to being individual (again, Colossians 3:11); and I believe that this change was retroactive to the creation of mankind in that God knows them that are his by faith and those are who will be resurrected into the kingdom of his dear Son (Col 1:13) or walk in alive on the day of his appearing; and of course, provision is in place for those under the age of accountability (20) that have not had opportunity to understand the saving gospel at the time they lived.
If God had not divorced his two cheating wives, where would we be now? We most likely would not even have been born! We owe those unfaithful wives our very lives, LOL, and our opportunity to have eternal life in our Saviour!

I'm bewildered by the pervasive unwillingness among Christians to acknowledge the difference between the two houses descended from Jacob/Israel (Israel and Judah) that fills the Old Testament. Genesis 48 tells how Israel blessed the sons of Joseph (Ephraim and Manasseh) gave the blessing he got from the Angel he wrestled, and bequeathed his name, Israel, to them. In Genesis 49, he tells how he had enough blessings for the head of Joseph and the crown of the head of him who was separated from his brethren. In Genesis 38, we find out that Judah was the one separated from his brethren.
So, Jacob blessed Judah with the blessing he got from his progenitors.
Summarizing, Jacob/Israel created two houses: Israel and Judah. The Judahites were descended from Israel- but they were not Israel. Misunderstanding that makes Paul's writings indecipherable because Paul understood how 10 tribes of Israel had been scattered among the gentiles- and had to be re-gathered.

Why are you not happy that God would save them all?
Why aren't you having the compassion and heart of Paul? They are your brothers, or at least neighbors. "I tell the truth in Christ, I am not lying, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Spirit, hat I have great sorrow and continual grief in my heart. For I could wish that I myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren, my countrymen according to the flesh, who are Israelites... Rom 9:1-4
Paul quotes God: For He says to Moses, "I WILL HAVE MERCY ON WHOMEVER I WILL HAVE MERCY, AND I WILL HAVE COMPASSION ON WHOMEVER I WILL HAVE COMPASSION." Rom 9:15.
If God was able to reach Ninevites, why wouldn't He be able to reach modern Israelites. If you believe in the gospel, pray for them.

No. The verb is in the future tense and so Paul from his perspective is speaking of a past condition (Israel's hardening-perfect tense verb) which resulted in a present reality: 1)"broken off branches" from unbelief and 2) only a remnant being saved. Paul warns the Gentile believers who were grafted in not to be arrogant in thinking they had replaced Israel as the people of God. He explained that if they do not remain in unbelief (vs. 23) they will be grafted back in. The texts Paul quotes in context refer to future events from Paul's day.

I know of no interpretation of Romans 11:25 that translates the Greek word "merous" according to the rules of that language.
"Merous" should be translated "from part".
Hardening from part Israel happens until the filling part (of Israel scattered among gentiles) be brought in. Thus all Israel will be saved.

You can't agree with Paul the Apostle that the literal nation of Israel has been "broken off", set aside; and then at the end of the same chapter say the nation of Israel is not in view when "All Israel shall be saved." This is undergrad exegesis. And just because one's traditional medieval doctrines inherited from High Churches hated Israel, tortured Jews, and deported them from their homes, there is no Biblical reason to support. Read the entire chapter 11 of Romans substituting "The Church" for every reference to Israel or a pronoun whose antecedent is Israel and you will see why this sort of claptrap traditional doctrine is foolish.

    Bible Recap
The Jews - Who is Israel?
For they are not all Israel which are of Israel
    Romans 9:6
This is a very important verse; Paul makes a distinction that identifies Israel into two different categories, two Israels are alluded to here. They who are of Israel signify ethnic Israel, the national descendants, yet they are not all Israel. Another Israel exists which national Israel is not part of. National Israel alone does not meet the definition of Israel, to Paul.

… they which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed
    Romans 9:8
Paul expands the principle by saying it is not the ‘children of the flesh’ but the ‘children of the promise’ who are counted as ‘the seed’. The ‘children of the flesh’ are ethnic Israel, but they are not counted as ‘children of God’.
Only the ‘children of the promise’ are now counted for the seed. Who then are the ‘children of the promise’?
… they which are of the faith, the same are the children of Abraham.
    Galatians 3:7
Paul states clearly: it is those ‘of the faith’ ... these are the ones counted as ‘children of Abraham’. They are qualified by faith in Jesus Christ under the new covenant. Paul laid that out in the first eight chapters of Romans. Only those who are of faith (in Christ) are to be regarded as children of the promise. This is why ‘they are not all Israel who are of Israel’. Those who believe in Christ are Israel under the new covenant.
For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly, neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh. But he is a Jew, and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit …
    Romans 2:29
In the same way that Paul challenged nationality by showing us that not all of Israel is Israel, Paul even challenges what it is to be a Jew. He dismisses circumcision as the marker of being a Jew. In doing so he negates ethnic or cultural bias as the basis of being a Jew.
Paul is saying that the identity of Jew is not based on outward indicators, cultural or otherwise, it is derived from a spiritual criterion.
To be a Jew in the New Testament is to have an inward sign, a spiritual sign, a circumcision of the heart and spirit. Paul is saying that to be a Jew is now qualified by an inward spiritual condition, whoever has this - is a Jew. Under the new covenant, this can only be received by faith in Christ - the circumcision of the heart and spirit.
Anyone can be a Jew as long as they bare this inward circumcision of the heart and spirit. You are a ‘spiritual Jew’ in other words because you have faith in Christ, and by extension are now a child of Abraham.
This is the new Israel - a new spiritual Israel under a new covenant signified by faith. Paul states that all who bare the inward mark are the true Jews. This is why there are two Israels, and why not all Israel is of Israel.
National Israel is not regarded as Israel nor are national Jews considered Jews despite their outward appearance and circumcision.
The Israel Paul speaks of is the Israel of the New Covenant as Romans 11 clearly shows. The New Covenant is qualified by faith in Jesus Christ alone and is not an automatic privilege of ethnicity. You are not a Jew in Pauls eyes, if you do not have this faith.

@pastordavidberman2091 Have you not read in the Scriptures that God is no respector of persons?
And if you're a pastor, surely you know that Paul was speaking to Greeks/ Gentiles in the church of Philippi when he said..Philippians 3:3
For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.
And to the church in Rome, made of gentiles when Paul said this..Romans 2:28-29 KJVS
For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh: [29] But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.
Those in Jesus, the Son of God circumcised with the circumcision not made by human hands, are the true sons and daughters of God, the true Israel of God. You see, it's spiritual, not physical.
      Galatians 6:15-16
For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature. [16] And as many as walk according to this rule, peace be on them, and mercy, and upon the Israel of God.
      Colossians 2:10-12
And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: [11] In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ: [12] Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.
      Colossians 3:10-11
And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him: [11] Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.

(Sorry for the VERY long "comment". But I believe it NEEDS to be espoused)
Kind Sir Ryan Rufus...ALL TRUE Israelite and the last Tribe of "Judahites" (Jews); WILL be Saved! However, the word "true" is a BIG situation. And Paul also (in his Roman book), said one of the most poignant verses, in the bible concerning this salvation, in...
Romans 2:28 For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh: Romans 2:29 But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.
Galatians 3:29 And if ye be Jesus', then are ye Abraham's "seed", and heirs according to the promise (of God's Kingdom).
Notice the word "seed" and Abraham. Thus, most Jews are NOT going to be Saved. BECAUSE most of them; have denied Jesus (who is God); for the last 2,023 yrs. Also Sadly, MOST Christians, all over the world, believe that any Abraham "Descendant" is a true Israelite, and to the Jews! NOT so...
Because, Paul said (In other words)...to be ONLY the ones; that have the "SEED" of Abraham. And that makes EVERY person, who ever has lived; can have that Seed. And that means, that one MUST believe in; the SAME God Abraham worshiped. But...
Sadly, MOST of his descendants were FAR; from what Abraham worshiped. Believe it or not! So, to "summarize"...I believe: that upwards of 90% of Abraham's descendants (from 4,000 yrs, to this day); WILL be cast into a "Burning Lake of Fire! (in Hell). On "Judgment Day"! Time will tell of course, anyway...
...in any case Ryan and Brethren, Please Pray OFTEN and Praise Jesus OFTEN; for He is the ONLY true "God Almighty"; there will ever have been. And may Jesus bless you and yours always. AMEN!

Hello from Ireland. You don’t have authority from God to interpret Scripture. Only the Magisterium of the Catholic Church has authority to interpret Scripture. The same Magisterium that canonized the Bible and declared the dogmas of the faith. An example of a dogma is the Holy Trinity of God (the word trinity is not in the Bible).
Protestantism started in the 16th century and since then has splintered into thousands of denominations each having their own interpretation of Scripture. Sola scriptura is a heresy invented by Martin Luther. The Church has always been Scripture, Magisterium and Apostolic Tradition.
The Catholic Church teaches that there will be a mass conversion of the Jews before the end.
Humble yourself and listen to the Catholic Church. Learn about the history of my country and the horrific persecution of the Holy Mass during the infamous Penal Laws. Jesus Christ is truly present in the Holy Eucharist administered by the Catholic Church. The Eucharist was instituted by Christ at the Last Supper. Many followers of Christ, including Judas, stopped walking with him when he preached his real presence in the Eucharist.

So Paul is referring to the future and in Rom 11:26, Paul writes "The Deliverer will come out of Zion." So this is after Jesus gets here because Jesus doesn't arrive from Zion. He arrives from the clouds after Armageddon.
This guy needs verses in both testaments saying only a portion of the Remnant get saved, and there isn't any.
They all say "All Israel" will be saved.
But it's not like a billion Jews will go to Israel. There's not that many Jews left after Armageddon to be brought back to Israel in Isaiah 56, 60 and 65.
