if Real or Olympiacos played 82 games in an NBA season, with NBA rules and bigger court, they MIGHT win 10 games. Going 10-72 isn't something to be proud about. Larry is far better than drazen he scored more than him in that match 😂

Drazen forever!
Larry Bird soon after that sat out the 1988-89 season due to double heel surgery. The heels were bothering him in the 1988 playoffs and through the summer 1988.
Larry, comparing to Drazen, you're just a bird...
Don't na delusional and distespectful, Drazen was definitely one of the 10 best players in the world at his time, a legend, but Larry in the mid80s created a separation as the best, he was by far the greatest player, individually he was far superior to Petrovic, Petrovic was on the level os Wilkins, an all time great scorer and talent, Bird on his prime was one of the 5 best players ever, different level
@@Luckymag-if4dw That is not the case. At that time, Dražen was playing in Europe, therefore wasn't even in NBA and therefore couldn't even be considered against NBA players. Larry was great player, but couldn't even be put in the same sentence with Dražen whose basketball skills, leadership and legacy are supreme.
@@Luckymag-if4dw Well said.
No one has played the game better than Bird did over the 4 years 84 85 86 87.
@@endidda7775you seriously have no idea how good bird was he literally outscored every player and was a threat to literally ever professional even legends like Mj and Chamberlain talked big about him he was a nightmare to all teams drazen is incredible but bird was one of a kind
@@endidda7775 😂 Bird with two bad heels - very soon to miss the season with double heel surgery - was the best player on the floor. And was arguably the best NBA player of the 1980s. Putting Petrovic in the same conversation with Bird? Most of NBA players couldn't be put in the same conversation. Even after he came back from surgery and had bad back Bird was still better than Petrovic at his best.
Final scored?
111-96 Boston
Larry Bird before the game: "Who is Petrović?"
Dražen Petrović after the game:"Who is Larry Bird?"
Bird played well in that game, outplayed Petrovic in spite of two bad heels which would soon force him to miss the whole season 88-89 due to surgery. Petrovic is a footnote in NBA history, with all due respect. Bird was arguably the best player of the 80s.
Larry bird the best
Who is Petrovic? 🤣🤣🤣
Great Larry!
i don't give a f.k about mj, for me drazen was the greatest player ever. you can say what you want, but drazen was poetry. basket is not nba, basket is ex jugoslavia. from an 50 years old italian that watch drazen on tv since his early days
He played better in Europe. He is good, but not the best.

Muy bien el partido. Volver a la adolescencia. Lástima tener que soportar de vez en cuando las bobadas de Antonio Sánchez.

Johnson couldn't guard him!!! No way, the guy was on skates four times in first 5 minutes...
What is this and why have I never heard of this game before!! Brazen versus Bird?! Boston versus wait for it Real Madrid!!??
He was much faster and agile when he was in Real Madrid.
Drazen at another speed compared to the veterans Celtics (a great team).

Hahaha u bocanju 😂😂
For those disparaging Bird, he outplayed Petrovic statistically:
29 points, 12 rebounds, 6 assists to 22 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists.
And, when Petrovic played in the NBA, he was an all-star, but he wasn't better than Jordan.
and Bird was about to have double heel surgery in a month or so, and miss the whole season, as the heels were bothering him already in the 1988 playoffs 5 months prior. He still was the best player on the floor.
Today i saw a smaller twin of Mr Petrovic ex yu
I think the basket-case in Europe was 3-05 n in USA 3_15--also the three point line was bigger at USA,thats why we see two lines

NBA teams don't challenge anymore top european teams anymore because they know that the can lose
Real and Olympiakos would win most NBA teams for sure
if Real or Olympiacos played 82 games in an NBA season, with NBA rules and bigger court, they MIGHT win 10 games. Going 10-72 isn't something to be proud about. Plus most of the best players on these Euro teams tend to be Americans. And just look at all the FIBA Under tournaments. The US has won all of them consecutively recently. All of them. From U14 to U20.
@@Evocati2008epends on the rules..is it puzzy no defence soft nba rules or real bball fiba rules
@@Evocati2008 With the roster that they finished the season it would had been contenders for playoff entrance. Who understands basketball, can understand this. This "82 games" is just for show for Americans that don't know European basketball. For example, Olympiakos played 77 games in total. If we get out the playoff games of both domestic and Euroleague, it 's about 60 games. Yes, US won the young tournaments, but of the top 5 NBA players, 1 is European, 2 Africans and both Butler and LeBron are above 30
@@Evocati2008 And if most of the NBA teams played with FIBA rules they would have serious problems... Best Madrid players or Barça players are not from the US...best players in NBA are europeans ahahaha

A typical view of conceided american All star mind from late '80s/early '90s (Larry Bird): Who is Petrović?
What an arrogance and disrespect.
Anyone here seriously comparing this guy to Larry Bird has been smoking paint chips.
The European refs may have decided to call the game to give the advantage to Madrid.
Didn’t matter.
Laughable.
Boston wins those games 10 out of 10 times.
Was nice to see R. Lewis though.
Nobody is comparing Bird to Drazen... But don't get me wrong Drazen was a master and had a short NBA career so nobody can say
But given 10 years in the NBA and we would be talking about a huge legend... Add those European years in his beginning and he belongs with the NBA legends....He was skill and one of the best shooters the NBA will ever see..Like a Mashine!!!
you obviously dont know much about fiba basketball..let me inform you that Drajen is considered way superior to Parker period..Around the same exact time in fiba there were 3 more playersthat would have been elite in NBA..Oscar,Galis and Sabonic..Petrovic is not comparable to Bird since he is a sg/pg but Oscar is and by all standards and according to Bird himself and Kobe he could have been as lethal as Bird..Galis could outscore everyone even in the NBA exept Jordan as a solo scoring machine and Sabonic was definetely better than Robinson beyond a shadow of a doubt ,just watch them play against each other at 1988 olympics same exact age..question marks on Hakeem and Shaq..all of them are in the naismith HOF.
@@andreaspapadakis2602 I know European basketball is like everything else European. Overly restricted. Judging by the officiating , I would believe closer to soccer.
