Let's make no mistake about. Without Kukoc there would not have been the sixth title. No way that the Bulls that year would have gotten past Indiana if it wasn't for Kukoc's heroics. The pacers were ready for Jordan, Pippen, Rodman. But when Kukoc took over they were done.
Posterized Mutombo, Ewing, Robinson, Mourning, getting hit in face during dunks and taking that like it's nothing, hitting threes over Kemp, Shaq and Malone, hitting buzzer beaters and taking some of his teammates with his passes into the highlights which would never be on highlights if there wasn't for Toni. He was nightmare for guarding, he was faster, more skillful and had great vision than any big in those times and for smaller players he was simply too big and too strong.
When you consider Jordan's selfish play until Phil arrived... Pippen refusing to go in the playoff game & delaying off season surgery.... all of Toni's ice water in the veins game on the line shots, his resume before Chicago, that he was the best unselfish passer ever...Toni was the most valuable bull ever.... without him & Dennis no 2nd 3peat....Toni makes me incredibly proud to be Croatian......
Petrovic, Jokic, Doncic and a young Arvidas Sabonis may have a saying as well. He happens to be the most decorate because he picked the hottest team in the 90s. But in terms of individual value, there is room for debate.
I didn't know Kukoc dunked on David Robinson lol, that is some impressive stuff. If Kukoc had the mentality of a number one option, he would stuff the stat sheet and be in conversation for one of top NBA players of all time. But since he didn't have that kind of aggressive mentality and didn't have a team built around him, no one really knows what he could do. Playing from the bench behind Jordan and Pippen also didn't help his reputation, as when Jordan retired I think Kukoc was over 30 and with a reputation of a roleplayer that gets limited minutes and touches and that is the role he played to end of his career. Still his career in Europe is one of the best ever, I don't know if any player had a better European career than Toni, while his NBA career seems average in comparison.
Yes, You are right about his position and stats in Europe but also on international level ( 11/12 3's against USA, silver medal at Olympics losing in final game against original Dream Team. He sure would have different status in NBA if he did get there 2-3 years earlyer, if he was maybe on a different team ( but then he sure wouldn't have 3 rings also ) and he was never stats chaser type. That type was Dražen Petrović . . . pure shooter, one of the best ever. Only if he didn't lost his life . . For us croatians, those are 2 best players ever . . . even do i like Toni just a bit more.
He was never going to be even the #2 option he was #3 a lot of times but that’s common sense on a team with MJ and Pip. On any other team, playing his true position Toni could of easily been a #1 option. Even averaging 14PPG on a team with pip and Mj is an underrated feat.
wow i didn't know he was that good......he made game winning shots, very good passes, and dunked on all of the tough guys!!!!!! like robinson ewing, ect on big guys wow....
He could have been not only an All Star but a franchise player .....as an italian, I used to watch him before he went to the Nba, and I'm bit disappointed for he didn't show up all his talent and strenght Probably he suffered Jordan's charisma and rules, because he wasn't at all supposed to be only a role player
Greatest...after Michael and Scottie most important Bull's player, when Scottie was injured especially helped MJ not feeling alone...Proud to be a CROATIAN
Quizás el Mejor jugador Europeo con junto con GASOL a petrovic no lo cuento por desgracia para nosotros tuvo una carrera muy corta en la NBA kukoc 3 Anillos Pau 2
One of the greatest ever unselfish, a leader a winner

KUKOC is LEGEND!
My favorite Bulls Toni Kukoc

And ended the finals with a buzzer beating dunk. Now how many endings could be better?
Wow, that guy could do it all.
one of the best players ever play the game of basketball...
❤❤❤❤❤Toni kukoc...
Poetry... Pure poetry.

First shot of the video.. MJ throwing up his hands before the shot even went in.. legendary
I saw him playing in Bormio ( Italy ) when he was 17/18 years old. Was already incredible
The best European player, the most decorated as well
One of the best left hander before ginobili and after cris mullin

Лучший европейский игрок и самый титулованный! 💪🏻🥇🏀
People saying Kukoc isn’t in the top 5 all time Europe are crazy.
What a player.
Tony would be in the top 5 NBA european all star team.
He could have been not only an All Star but a franchise player .....as an italian, I used to watch him before he went to the Nba, and I'm bit disappointed for he didn't show up all his talent and strenght
Probably he suffered Jordan's charisma and rules, because he wasn't at all supposed to be only a role player
I think a Pippen, Kukoc lead Bulls could have won a ring without MJ.
Toni os the Euro 🐐
Greatest...after Michael and Scottie most important Bull's player, when Scottie was injured especially helped MJ not feeling alone...Proud to be a CROATIAN
The Best
Jugoslovenska škola košarke, to je ta lucidnost i nepredvidivost..👏🙂👌
😅😂😂😂😂
Three pointer over Kemp is not an easy thing to do. Kemp was a beast, an amazing power forward player. Tony shows here how it's done😀👍.
No Toni no 3peat
Jokara i Toni na nabolji beli košarkaši svih vremena .
Kukoc earned a respect from Jordan that is why they are Golf buddies.
This guy was an x factor for the best team ever
Smooth operator... Coolest cat from the 90ies besides Vanilla Ice 😆 Get Kukoc his own extra episode on TLD
The last dance was unfair to Toni, even disrespectful. he was playing all as final 5 Bulls in any sequence of the movie.
HOF Class Of 2021
He was a real clutch player eith a winner mentality
So many jordan-level in the 90s bulls.
#13 & #14 should have been ranked higher.
Pip the GoaT
Talking about clutch...
Ginobilli version 0
All that work and lot of those bulls players have nothing, are broke.
The front office is to blame for that one the gm was a complete ahole
