Yeah I gave up on Disney sabers a long time ago, especially now that their prices are up there with all the independent saber smith companies. But the box presentation is really really nice! The sabers themselves...meh. Which is to be expected from Disney.
I will stick to the proffies, CFX and Asteria sabers that are out there now with great tech and great design! Which are constantly being updated and improved...something Disney tends to neglect!

I hear you about the quality of the sabers. But the price point is stil alot less than any other saber out there unless you are getting an RGB saber I think. Neopixels with a more accurate hilt size would easily be around $400 per hilt new. That being said I agree with you that DIsney at this point should improve on the size at least. Or the technology if not the size.
@@HyperdriveStarWars True but if I'm paying 200 or more from Disney for their lightsabers I'd rather spend the extra monies to get a saber I truly love and that performs spectacularly. I own a few Disney saber and they really are not well made and the FX and SFX are pitiful. I really do regret buying them because they were not cheap by any means. Now they sit and collect dust. Now I know better save up and pay for quality. I was much happier! 😀
I own most of the Disney legacy lightsabers and also own some of the most expensive neopixel sabers made from Vaders Vault and Korbanth. I dont really care that the Disney lightsabers have inferior electronic interiors, because I dont display them with blades installed. Most people display just the hilt anyway and for that Disney sabers are just fine. For my favorite lightsabers, and the ones I show off the friends and family are my Darth Vader dual kyber crystal (VDR Gen 2) and the Luke Skywalker ROTJ (Hero 2) lightsaber and the Korbanth Obi-Wan Kenobi (OWK4) weathered lightsaber. Those are the only sabers worth showing off with a blade installed..
Classic Disney. Just another money grab. This is why I moved away from galaxy edge and am slowing upgrading to neopixel. Thanks for the incite!
Got my 1st Neopixel a few months ago and i can't see myself ever going back to Disney Sabers

Here’s a question I can’t find an answer to. If I’m looking to store these for a long time unused and unopened should I be concerned about battery corrosion inside the box?
Yes. Remove the batteries for longer-term storage.

Hm. Not worth it to me. SinceI got a Disney Lightsaber and an independant OC one, that Disney thing sits in a corner and I regret buying it. Here, you are basically paying for a subpar product in a fancy box. If you are good at crafting, you can recreate that box. And if you get good Asajj lightsabers, you get an actually very attractive piece of memorabilia. IMO, it is a shame that Disney is not updating those expensive collector items (don't tell me these are for kids to play with, they are far too cumbersome), so the only thing keeping this seemingly relevant is the official Disney tag on them. But IMO, Disney should be your first choice because they are that good in looks and technology, not because they have the license.
I wish they would improve on the tech as well. A set of accurate Neopixel hilts would run quite a bit though. I think even empty those hilts are around $300 - $400 and then install is even more than that. I agree these are not for kids at all. Way too heavy and way too expensive to give to a child. Can't argue with your comment. You have a good point.
Yep. Tried on Disney store,was in the queue at 7:45am right when it was available. When the queue opened up had only 800 people in front of me. Five minutes to get in. Sold out. What a joke.
Five minutes later Disney sends an email that they’re available on the Disney store. 🙄
Seems like the only way to get them is to be at the parks day of.
Yea they are very hard to get. Especially online. Hopefully you can find one reasonably priced on the second market.

The thing that's puzzling about this box is the color of the box shouldn't it be black and red since she's a part of the dark side the force.

Yea the Disney sabers do not compare to the Neopixel
Beautiful set but Disney keeps raising their prices without improving them. You can now buy better neopixels for less than the price of this Asajj box set. It’s sad how little they care about the experience anymore. Everything has become a money grab with Disney!

@@HyperdriveStarWars for sure! They have the potential to really put 3rd party neopixel companies out of business or at least be the leading brand of character hilts. Sadly, it’s all about the money and they’re choosing to just “put lipstick on the pig”…as the saying goes. 😞
Excellent review but the Disney sabers are too big, they lose realism
You’re not gonna find a better lightsaber at that price so I see why they’re big. If they add better components and raise the prices then people will still be complaining.
