6/7 hours of riding... how many times did you fuel up? btw waffle houses and buffets is the scat, I grew up on that during my 20s and early 30s. Great content, keep up the good work. Subscribed :)
Sooooooo, 6 to 7 hours on the AT.........on a scale of 1 to 10, what was the comfort level overall? Seat comfort? Wind Protection comfort? I am in the market for one this spring.......and hope to get enough feedback from people until then. Thanks.
Hey, how does your ATAS behave with all that luggage high up on the rear?? Mine gets rather wobbly when I ride with the original top box going around 60km/h. if I let go of the handlebars it starts to oscillate very bad, and that is with an empty top box, it gets much worse if I fill just a little luggage in it.... Best regards.
So let me get this straight... You went from a CRF300, to a NC750X and then the Africa Twin in under 7 months with no prior biking experience?? I've been bouncing the idea around to just go straight to my dream bike "Africa Twin" and learn from there but many have cautioned against this. I'm 6'2" and roughly 245. I know it's a big bike to start with regardless though. I'm trying to hold my patience and see what the Transalp looks like at the end of this year but I've already put down in a couple locations for a Tenere-700 just in case lol... I'd LOVE to just grab an AT but a middleweight seems the best of both worlds. Off-road and on road driving.
If you're just starting out don't go straight to the Africa. she's a chunky momma with HP that can get you unstuck quickly, it's heavy to pick up and would be heartbreaking (and costly) to damage. Try building up to it or you could wind up hating the whole riding experience. Begin with something you can drop fifty times and won't care too much. Like a second hand DRZ 400 or DR650 maybe (you can still load them up and travel). Learn what low traction situations feel like and get comfortable with it. Experiment with different terrain. Most of all have some fun. Upgrade when the actions you need to take to keep the bike upright start happening unconsciously.
I would never go or recommend someone to start off on an africa twin, its such a big and heavy bike. I'm still learning it. But yes, also a dr650. I would say start with maybe a Royal enfield himalayan nice bike, cheap price, get a few months under your belt at least.
Epic trip brother.I had a blast
Music with the engine sound is better. Keep on riding, Man!

Please load your bike in side cases first and as a last resort use a top case.
