Hi thanks for the video, is the metal mesh ok for their feet in winter ? how cold does it get where you are ? I'm planing to build a loft for spanish pouters and keep them in their individual box/cage most of the time when they are not flying, would you recommend a floor with a metal mesh and a tray ? I'm located in montreal, canada where the winter is long and it can get to -4F/-20C
@@djZur2 i will stay away from metal if they are going to stay on it for extended period of time in that cold climate. We go down to 20c here the most .
Did the babies survived eventually? We have eggs and now temperature is going to drop to minus 1 (I’m in the UK). We don’t have heaters in the cage and I’m worried sick they won’t make it… any tips? I was thinking of getting the bubble insulator and maybe the plexiglass for the front as you did? Not sure…
@@StratosLoft thanks! My pigeons are sitting on it fine, they never leave the eggs. When you say pads, do you mean heating pads? My bowls have all some normal padding of nesting material and we put in some straws and they used it to make it bigger. Will this be enough to keep them warm also when parents will stop sitting on them constantly? These pigeons have only been with us for little more than a month and I am not sure how good they are at parenting. others we had barely left the squabs alone, but just wondering..
@@ermenexillo4215 that all I use just regular nest bowl pads not heating pads. Usually the pigeons will take turns sitting on the eggs night time the hen around 10am they switch. Yes other birds usually leave the squabs alone but sometimes maybe a fight in the nest so keep eye on them . Good luck
The temperatures here in Minnesota drop to -43. Do pigeons survive in these extreme conditions? I love pigeons but the winter is keeping me away. I don’t want to torture these beautiful birds.
Asad Aljayashi .... you need to see around your area how people do it I have see people have pigeons in Alaska but I think you need to figure it out the way
🎉🙏🌹

A good pair will not let the eggs go cold just be sure you have a pads on the bowl.
