Rajat Saini you are completely insane. MBDTF is one of the best albums of all time and I'm not even a Kanye West Stan. Kanye creativity > Kendrick creativity facts
I think the problem is the one on the right got caught up in the legacy of Kanye. Kanye is a legend, no question, but this is about the albums they are comparing, not Cole and Kanye's legacy. 808's changed the sonics of hip hop, but FHD is just an overall better album, in my opinion. Just because something is impactful, doesn't automatically make it better than something else.
808s changed hiphop because the album was ahead of its time and 10/10 it would be almost STUPID for cole not to make a better sonically sounding album. because music is SUPPOSED to surpass the past. thats why we keep evolving. 808s is the better album however. As a rap fan most would be disappointed with it, and easy to say Cole won. ... we say tupac is the best because of the impact it left years down the line. jay z probably made a better sounding album to you with 444 than any tupac album. does that mean the album was better? NO. because alot of factors go into this shit.
808's is just a great album to me with or without the influence it had on hip-hop... i just don't see how you can compare these two albums cuz there is literally nothing to compare ... on one album the artist is singing on the other the artist is rappin.. one has chill/melancholy beats the other them boom bap joints... singing about loss and grief / bars,metaphors.... to me u can't really compare them but since they did imma go with 808's cuz when i first listened to it .. it was sumthin totally diff. for my ears nd opened my eyes to many other music genres.
What I love about these videos is that you see the difference in their taste of the same genre. Terrell is more of a lyrical listener where Terrence is a more music and production listener

I love 808's, it's heavily influential, but it's personally not even in my top 5 ye albums. But this album still doesn't take away his lyrical ability in many of his other albums like MBDTF, Graduation, College Dropout, etc
@@JoeMama-ly1kc cap music is subjective but any true rap or hip hop fan that is not biased and is a true fan and student of the genre will say 2014 over 808s bc of the fact that Cole is rapping and what he is doing is hiphop. 25:43 No wonder I agree with Terrence the whole time. I'm a film major too, 808s is one of the most cinematic albums I've ever heard. It brings you into a Winter Depressionland. It's beautiful.
I remember in high school the last verse of 03 adolescence was the most talked about thing for the month in my school. And it seemed like it literally changed the mentality of some people and I feel like it still is underrated
2014 is like a good basketball team with good players(03, intro,G.O.M.D...), some all star players(Jan 28, Fire Squad, Wet Dreamz...) and a great coach(J Cole). Just when you want something great, you get an all around super star(Apparently) and an scoring super star (No Role Modelz), which makes the team champion.
I like Forest Hills Drive more but 808s is the more influential album. It inspired so many other great artists and created a huge lane that we now respect and is prevalent in hip. Because if that I'll gave to give the edge to 808s
808s was way ahead of it's time and eventually turned out super impactful but lowkey it's not consistently well executed, so 2014FHD might overall be the better album
TheRelentlessKnight you're comparing a production heavy album vs. a lyrically heavy album. 808s production was influential and never done before. 2014 FHD had a predecessor that was more lyrically dense, GKMC.
But 808’s wasn’t original, heavily influenced but Kid Cudi, pick either Man on the Moon’s, Andre 3000 or several other artists, now while J Coles was also influenced, it had better story telling and harder drops/a great variety of it, I respect your opinion, both great albums in the spectrum. But college dropout and champion would beat Coles for sure. I think Cole wins this one
808 heartbreaks was a depressing album but it had some bangers. If we talking about music and sound of the album 808 will win. But if we talking a body of work all the way through lyrics sound and a great story FHD takes it.
J Cole can rap there’s no doubt about that. But the reason people hold 808 higher than FHD is because 808 is more than just rapping. As a hip hop artist myself i can easily steal J Cole’s flow and rap about relatable topics and put it over a looped sample, that’s easy, but one thing i wish i could do that i just can’t is come up with the sounds and patterns that are in Kanye’s mind. J. Cole rapped, Kanye made music that instantly set a mood. The Chords, the drum patterns, the vocal work, his words and story telling was just a bonus. It’s easy to use your words to set a mood, just say some sad shit to make people sad. But it’s really difficult to create SOUNDS that can just make you sit and think and Kanye makes that shit look easy.
Get Rich or Die Tryin for the win I like Kanye A lot but Get Rich or Die Tryin is literally one of the best albums I ever heard but College Drop out was one of my favorite albums but Late Registration was my shit
808s and heartbreak is the most influential album of the last decade no contest. It birthed The Weeknd, Drake, lik uzi vert , future, frank ocean, Lana Del Rey, Travis Scott, etc. its not even close, but still entertaining video.
You mean Kid Cudi and Andre 3000, right??? Who Kanye used their style, only with different drum patterns and vocals. Cause Andre made that shit different, and Cudi made that shit hot/influential
Joel Dale drum patterns he says. Lmao do you know what an 808 drum machine is? The point is the drums the disturb base busting sound that the album introduced. Come on man

Good User, M.a.a.d Internet both are good but IYRTITL is slightly better
Iyrtitl wins bruh stop this jungle and 6pm, energy yo come on
IYRTITL >>>
DWMTM had a lot of hits. I'm a drake stan and I'd say it's a pretty even match up.
Envy-us Rusty you still bump DWMTM? Cause I still bump IYRTITL. And im not a Drake Stan
Best series on RUclips
Looking back in time 2014 Forrest Hill Dr. has aged gracefully.
Hell noooooo😂😂😂
Classic for sure
808 heartbreaks was a depressing album but it had some bangers. If we talking about music and sound of the album 808 will win.
But if we talking a body of work all the way through lyrics sound and a great story FHD takes it.
They have just become my favorite twins lmao
andre lagrone is that shade to the lawtwinz
is that shade to the HodgeTwins🤭
@@holyskadoodle hodge twin shit now

Lyrics - Cole, Production - Ye...Why are we comparing apples to oranges?
Metro Boomin really thoooooo
Metro Boomin apples taste better than oranges
808s is better than fhd
Because it’s entertaining
forest hills drive is still a banger
Maak! Real shit
EXACTLY!!!
So uzi > cole because uzi can create sounds?
Maak! Uzi better than pac sometimes rapping wins over the music
@@nadinkrahh nah, kanye produces the tracks, the sounds, uzi don't
Terrance reacting to Say You Will is literally all of us Ye fans. ✊🏽🤣
"College dropout" vs "Get rich or die tryin"!!
obviously dropout
Idris Robinson ikr, even Terrence and Terrel would agree on that.
CD wins that easily
Get Rich or Die Tryin for the win I like Kanye A lot but Get Rich or Die Tryin is literally one of the best albums I ever heard but College Drop out was one of my favorite albums but Late Registration was my shit
50 is overrated lest be honest
Watch from 41:55 they both nodd their heads the same way without practice
That shit was hilariously cool as fuck! I missed it the first time, had to go back to rewatch. It’s like they’re synchronized for those few seconds.
that aint a twin thing thats just them having rhythm
Its not even a question.
808 & Heartbreaks E A S Y.
Forest Hill Drive don’t come close to 808’s. The production, the quality, and the impact. 808’s all day.

As a huge Kanye stan, I loved feeling the bias for 808, yet FHD is one of my all time favorite albums. Great video, i subbed!

808s and heartbreak is the most influential album of the last decade no contest. It birthed The Weeknd, Drake, lik uzi vert , future, frank ocean, Lana Del Rey, Travis Scott, etc. its not even close, but still entertaining video.
Mark K FACTS
You mean Kid Cudi and Andre 3000, right??? Who Kanye used their style, only with different drum patterns and vocals. Cause Andre made that shit different, and Cudi made that shit hot/influential
Joel Dale drum patterns he says. Lmao do you know what an 808 drum machine is? The point is the drums the disturb base busting sound that the album introduced. Come on man
Tha Carter III? Wayne pretty much setup the rap game for the next decade on that album
KING SAVAGE drake and travis ass? Okay
I love this series so much bc these guys so obviously come into these with strong opinions that aren't going to change anyway and after reciting a few lyrics and saying that the track is fire it quickly dissolves into them insulting eachothers looks
