The longer I listen to this the further back in time I go to seeing them in concert or remembering the pulsing of the power meters Leds on the amp lighting the darkened room ablaze with Rhymic light just hitting the red so often. Levitation excellent album, World of Tiers excellent track.

I saw Nik & some others under the name of "Space Bandits" or something like that in Boston @ The Mediterrean Theater with Helios Creed filling in on guitars. They did this as well as other cool tunes & for a moment, if you closed your eyes, you'd swear Huw was there playing instead of Helios. I wish I'd had a video cam of that show. No one else managed to get it on vid & it would've been a cool live version of this classic hit. Someone mentioned Fleetwood Mac, I can't really say what part sounded like 1 of their tunes? To me, I think it might've been J. Geils who had a song that sounded a bit like this, just a 1/2 step or so octave wise off & maybe, a slight touch faster. Can't remember the name of the J.Geils tune, but it has the lyrics "don't ask me what I think of you, I might not give the answer that you want me to".
Yer I hear the very small part you're on about, but I'd have to say it was more of a coincidence rather than some minor act of plagiarism, besides, Huw is no longer with us to defend himself, so I think as Hawkwind fans we should just let this one slide, eh!? ;-)
Worst ever drumming on this album. They should not have removed Simon Kings original drumming on it. Or even better, remix and remaster it with SK's drumming.

When Huw used to do solo gigs or gigs with the Lloyd-Langton Group he'd often play the intro to 'Oh Well' so not too far fetched ...
