This performance was way fiercer than the one with Daisy. It's like Anna is seriously bringing the fight to Karen, and she's picking it quite well. The one with Daisy looks like children fighting instead of popstar dethroning.
Firstly, because I've always wondered, how did Katherine not trip over her outfit in both versions is beyond me. Secondly, what I've always loved about Ana and Karen's version is that you actually feel the hate the characters they're playing have for one another. The portray that so well, not to mention that Ana commands attention throughout Karen's singing - and this is where Daisy fails. I don't know where this scene was supposed to fit in the show, i.e. I don't know if this is when Ana and Karen are in a fight or not but either way Daisy and Karen's character in the play clearly don't like each other but in their performance you don't really get that. Karen doesn't like Daisy because she took Ana's part, but in the performance it's tame in comparison here where you feel it more. You also don't get that Daisy's character is supposed to be this demanding powerful singer. In short: Ana rules, Daisy drools.
Omg I f@cking LOVED this...I always liked this song but something always seemed a bit off, for me, with the other chick...this version, with the girl who plays Ana, it just sounds much more emotional, more angsty, and that's kinda what this song needs anyway lol so glad this popped up!!
I love so much more the vocals in this version!!!, the costumes are a little odd, but I don't know express so many things, like a GAGA version of it, while the other is like more modern and tech... KrystaRodriguez Rules!
I'm glad they cut this. Wish they released the recording, but the staging and costuming is odd and too jarring, especially since we don't know too much about Hit List. That head piece is killing me.
But, she was supposed to be a Lady Gaga like character. And Karen's character looks much better dancing in this outfit than the one that has played on the show....it was just really awkward overall. I like this one better!
Wow, it's like the '88 production of Carrie the Musical: wailing music, frenetic choreography, bizarre costumes and flashing lights. Whole lotta WTF... yet weirdly I like it more than the Mara Davi version. If only it were in sync.
I like the other costumes better, but otherwise, they should’ve shown Ana’s performance, her voice is a lot more grittier than the other one and it made it better
Daisy sounds more high-pitched while Ana's voice is kinda lower? (Not sure how to describe it but she sounds more mature to me) Daisy is great, but I prefer Ana as the Diva
I was going to say ana is the better actress whilst her dancing was stiffer and less energetic than daisy's. and then I realised "oh, yeah - nearly 2 foot of headress, not exactly conducive to throwing yourself around quickly". Even so, she still dances better than Karen.
I believe this is still downtown production - thats why the environment and costumes are like that. So its supposed to be before Kyles death right? and of course Ana is much better than "the angry red head" (hated her so much!)
I hate to say it, because I love me some Krysta Rodriguez (you were awesome in First Date, girl!!!) but I think that Mara Davi fit the role better as she is a little older and sounded more like Diva - an obvious play off of Madonna.
I love this and really feel Ana in this as a superior singer. I am riveted on her image. Ana holds my attention with her extreme focus.

you're right
True but to be fair daisy does sing this one better.

Love this version waaaaayyyyyy more. 💕 i miss Smash so much! 💔
That's amanzing! This was Ana's from the beginning! They're both great! I miss SMASH!
They really do Karen so dirty with that golden shiny diaper.

the Diva's head piece is soo cool.
Is it just me or does Ana's makeup look very Rocky Horror Picture Show?

Steven Diaz ikr the costumes are bugging me
i love the vocals on this version way better then with her and daisy krysta is slaying!!!!! but i love the costumes in the other version
IM shocked! Other version! Ohhhh i miss SMASH!
Ana's voice (whatever the actress' name is) is so much richer sounder than the woman who played Daisy's. This is much better!
I want smash back, please!!!!!!!
So much better than the other version!
Thank you so much for uploading these!

Well they're supposed to be in the MTV video musci awards if I remmber correctly, and thr VMAs have become very over the top shows
The Diva's costume is a reference to Lady Gaga and Nina's costume is a reference to Lana Del Rey
apart from the crazy costumes, it is much better than the other version

Am I the only one to prefer the version with Daisy ?
toinou164 no
I believe there are deleted scenes on the S2 DVD
I like this better than the one with Mara Davi's character!!!
I'm not sorry but I prefer Daisy
her name is KRYSTA RODRIGUEZ.
I like the other costumes better, but otherwise, they should’ve shown Ana’s performance, her voice is a lot more grittier than the other one and it made it better
This one is better!
I wish they had both on iTunes. I have the other, but I would buy this one in a heartbeat
Ana did that wayyy better than daisy!!. Ana has more diva in her voice and acting. Love it!!
Nice
Daisy sounds more high-pitched while Ana's voice is kinda lower? (Not sure how to describe it but she sounds more mature to me) Daisy is great, but I prefer Ana as the Diva
some of the dancers are so hot!!
AWESOME!!!!
Wow k but this is much more thunder dome the diva is so good here
wow! thanks for uploading this! where did you get this?
yeah, this is from before they went to broadway. its why the production value isnt as grand as the broadway version
I think Krysta hits the higher belt notes better but Mara's voice suited the character better.
This is also in a much much lower key so there is really no comparison
@@theaeskey2502 Both versions are in the same key.

1:53 holy shit kyle is alive...

anyone else feel like ana's voice is too soft for the fierce attitude she's portraying?
🙌😳
wow!
Fun fact: This was inspired by the Katy vs Gaga feud
Wow.
which episode was this in, I may have missed it...
it wasnt in the show, it's in the deleted scenes section on one of the DVDs
WHY THESE COSTUMES?
I believe this is still downtown production - thats why the environment and costumes are like that. So its supposed to be before Kyles death right? and of course Ana is much better than "the angry red head" (hated her so much!)
Taylor Swift vs Lady Gaga
I actually like the one they showed on TV compared to this (plus the staging). I like Krysta, but she sounded weird singing this song.
I hate to say it, because I love me some Krysta Rodriguez (you were awesome in First Date, girl!!!) but I think that Mara Davi fit the role better as she is a little older and sounded more like Diva - an obvious play off of Madonna.
This looks like sonthibg lady gaga would do
Hi guys
I think Krysta is a great singer especially when she sang reach for me but she doesn't sound good at all in this song.
