What hurts the most (see what I did there :D) about this song is that Karkat is regretting not telling Eridan he loves him even though he knew it could have caused them to drift into a doomed timeline. "Even knowing what it would bring..." Saving Eridan might have cause a doomed timeline and Karkat is glad he didn't say anything. Otherwise he would have killed indirectly all his friends and for that he is willing to give up his love.

I'm just gonna write this comment to get rid of all of the debate in the comment section. This is for Eridan. because,
1. The line, "Steal his sight." Is because Eridan made Sollux blind.
2. The line, "Hard to know where our future could've led if she's let you go." means it's hard to know where Eridan and Karkats future would have been if Kanaya hadn't killed him.
3. The line, "You deserve all the hurt. that she served, though it burns, I am glad that she has laid you under." Is basically saying that Eridan deserved what Kanaya did to him.
4. The line, "Maybe I could've saved you, if I'd not stayed away." means that Karkat could've saved Eridan and made him not what he is today, if he hadn't stayed away from Eridan.
Those are the reasons that I KNOW this song is for Eridan, so now everyone can stop debating about it in the comment section.

I actually believe this is for Eridan, You know, he took away sollux sigth, destroyed the matriorb (killed her hope), "so you won't ever get her regret" 'cause Kanaya will not fell regret for killing Eridan... and "Maybe i've could save you if i haven't stay away" it's 'cause KK got tired of Eridan in a moment of the comic, and he put distance between each other...
I feel like this is aimed at both Eridan and Gamzee.

Thank god Eridan is finally getting the love and recognition he deserves. He's such a good character. Maybe a douche at times, but that's only because he never had anyone to reprimand him, I mean yeah Fef was his "moirail" but she didn't want to be, which leads me to think she didn't do all she could I help him understand how to interact with others. I miss Eridan. Rest in peaces bud.

I think this was when Karkat was on the metor thus thinking about Eridian and what he had done to FF and Sol, and he's regreting not being there for his friends. like, a friend love.(it would have been about Gamzee when he went on his rampage)

It's so nice to see a song that shows Eridan and Karkat's relationship (which, although they never filled a quadrant, was shown to be very close before Eridan murdered Feferi, half of Sollux, and almost Kanaya). A lot of fans seemed to have forgotten it existed.
This hurts me in the feels, but I fucking love Broadway Karkat more than I should.

"...maybe I could have save you had I not stayed away"- Karkat sent Equius after Gamzee instead of going himself, even though he should have.
"...steal his sight, steal her hope, I'm glad she has laid you under"- Eridan dueled Sollux and blinded him, he blasted Feferi through the stomach, and Kanaya sawed Eridan in half.
PROOF IT IS BOTH.
So I got curious and started looking at the comments. I see arguments of shipping and character worthiness and motive debates. I see both lovers and haters and people in between. There is however one thing that I do not see and it was driving me crazy so I had to mention it.
Does no one see the time paradox surrounding the event of Eridan's argument-that-led-to-death?
So we all know that after Eridan kills Feferi and Kanaya Karkat tries to 'save' Sollux and then learns that Gamzee went crazy and in his panic starts a memo. IN that memo he talks to, among other people, Past Eridan (presumably from right before the incident). Karkat essentially breaks a deal they had that he would act as a moirail if needed and leaves Eridan all confused of the motives.
The Past Eridan can be inferred to go on to commit the actions that lead to Karkat 'breaking up with' Past Eridan. Karkat was essentially Eridan's last source of any kindness and he proceeds to rip that out from under him based on actions Eridan does not know about, probably leading to Eridan committing those very actions.
It provides some really fascinating topics to muse on. Such as, for instance, what if Karkat told Past Eridan to take him up on their deal RIGHT AWAY.
I just thought I would share this tidbit with the RUclips community so others could enjoy/hate this small paradox within the many others from the wonderful world of Homestuck.
