In real life he’d probably get fired instead of promoted. Most businesses don’t want their employees to try to apprehend shoplifters and robbers because they don’t want liability if the employee gets killed or hurt trying to stop them unfortunately. That’s pretty much what they told me when I worked retail. One loss prevention guy literally body slammed a dude trying to grab a bunch of shit and quickly run out the door without paying. It was truly WWE worthy and they fired him for doing his job basically….
Oingo Boingo was pretty big back then, and had a cult following. Their music was played on KROQ 106.9 FM. At All-American burger he played everything by the book, but he got fired and dumped to boot. He was just barely out of high school and already gotten fucked over and stopped caring. 😂

Both Judge Reinhold and James Russo are both in Beverly Hills Cop, and the director of Beverly Hills Cop, Martin Brest is also in Fast Times at Ridgemont High. Judge Reinhold and Phoebe Cates are also both in Gremlins as well.
Amanda Wyss (Lisa) , Vince Schiavelli (Mr. Vargas), and Taylor Negron (Pizza Guy) were also all in Better Off Dead as Beth, Mr. Kerber, and the Mailman repsectively.
Just 2 years later, Brad and the burglar would run it back in Beverly Hills Cop. James Russo played Axel Foley's best friend who stole the bearer bonds and got killed over it, prompting Eddie Murphy to drive to California. Judge Reinhold of course played Rosewood, who became Foley's tag team partner along with Taggart.
Poor Mikey Tandino. He just couldn't seem to stay out of trouble in L.A. Two years later, he got caught stealing Deutsche Mark bearer bonds from Victor Maitland, and was killed for it.
After the excitement of busting this robber, Brad Hamilton changes his name to Billy Rosewood and joins the Beverly Hills Police Department. Under the expert tutelage of Sargent Taggert, he becomes detective in 2 years.

I’ve got the Colt 45 shirt, the undershirt, the Vans, a wig, and already had the pants. I will be this version of Spicoli for 2 Halloween parties this weekend. Better late than never.
They show Mr. Vargas taking the gizzard out of a chicken. Vincent Schiavelli's hobby was cooking and about 20 years after this movie was released, he put out a combination autobiography/cookbook.
I wouldn't consider it blowing one's money by spending it on hiring the 1982 Van Halen lineup to play your birthday party. You can always make more money.

The robber reminds me of the angry robber in the first season of Gimme A Break!, which was a year before this film came out. Both robbers were nasty and impatient with their victims and both suffered as a result.
In this day and age, Brad would have been fired for not giving in to the criminals demands, charged with battery and assault with a deadly weapon for throwing hot coffee on the criminal, and sued by the criminal for causing emotional and physical distress.
How times have changed. These days Hamilton's outcome would've been being fired for what he did. And in California, possible prison sentence after reviewing footage of him holding a weapon. On top of that, the suspect would've filed a civil lawsuit for pain and suffering to win wage garnishments on Hamilton for the next 10 years, plus his vehicle would've been seized for compensation.
Shortly after this heroic act, Hamilton joined the Beverly Hills Police Department and became a detective in hopes of stopping criminals like this.
Nice! : )
Dang a Beverly Hills cop reference
The robber was the crooked sheriff in “Open Range” in a previous life.
@@ryanhodges7101he was also Axel Foleys friend who was murdered - this could totally be a Beverly Hills Cop prequel 😂

"up this ramp?" That is the best part, realistic. He makes simple directions complicated for no reason which is real life.
Because he's a stoner that's why

he really looked stoned 😂

The greatest part of this movie is the Sean Penn never broke character the entire time. Even off camera he was Jeff Spicoli!😂
