We also might not have much tolerance for alcohol, after all, if you are surviving dangerous situations you need to function at 100%. Alcohol is also expensive. This could explain why we are so reluctant to drink with him.

Oddly enough there is a star wars ASMR by Fred ASMR ( I think) that is basically the Imperial Navy Admiral version of this exact scenario. Got to get this wonderful elf gent, Admiral Fred and the Romulan Imperial Navy into a ASMR together against one plucky rebel and see how long we and they last agsint us and each other HEHEHE.
