Well I don't think this video shows how he is as a coach because a) This was being filmed and b) I've seen coaches change when matches are around. Chill in practice and complete douchebags during and before the game
This helped me a lot. When I first tried out I didn’t make the team because I couldn’t spike but then I watched this and begged them to let me try again and then I made the team and now I’m the captain. Thank you so much
Sometimes my legs shake because I don't in if I'm in the right spot or not and I'm scared that I'm gonna do something wrong while serving or getting like getting it over the net
i started playing volleyball half a year ago and I really didn't get how to jump and then spike until now. nobody could explain it in a way that's understandable for me (I'm a little dumb in this sort of things). now, with the countig of the girls 'right left right left jump' I got it. really a great help for me. thanks a lot.
Winner of a video, I been tryin to find out about "seated volleyball drills" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you heard people talk about - Renndrew Volleyball Victimless - (just google it ) ? Ive heard some incredible things about it and my co-worker got great success with it.
TBH I don't really like spiking, sometimes I dread spiking time when it's time to practice it. My favorite time is service time and spike-and-receive drills. Idk I just don't enjoy spiking. My teammates think I'm weird cause they usually hate receiving drills and when the coaches watch our services closely. I'm so weird XD

Gabe Dalhoff very much. The only downside I can see is someone not telling you if your form is correct/incorrect and tips to help with form and stuff like that based on what you’re doing
Just make sure you're watching some credibal sources! People who actually know what they're talking about :)! I reccomened watching tons of gameplay from university/olympics. Watch their form and every little thing they do to make the perfect pass or spike :)!
I stopped playing volleyball because my family member passed away but when i watched haikyuu I started to play volleyball again I was a little giant and i jump really high
i went to a volleyball camp this year as a very very inexperienced beginner and when trying to learn to spike counselors told me to “high five the ball” and i never got the hang of it. after watching this video i saw exactly what i had wrong- i didn’t lead with my elbow. this video has taught me so much. thank you so much
You are the bomb, Tod Mattox. Played all through middle school, high school, and college- just started coaching middle schoolers and I haven't, for the LIFE of me, been able to remember how I learned the basics! This will be awesome for teaching some of my first timers!! Thank you!

Both are correct. The main thing is ending with your left step as your last step if you are a right handed hitter. So for a 2 step approach, it would be right, left For a 3 step approach, it'll be left, right, left And it'll be the opposite if you are a left handed hitter. Right, left, right
Omg these are little kids and they are fr amazing. That one girl dived to get the ball they can hit the ball decently and can all approach for the hit wtf I wanna be coached like that.....
my highschool said they'd welcomed players with any experience level so I went, practically got ignored (only one girl begrudgingly helping me) then the next day the coach told me to leave because I was dragging down the team and they don't have a b team... so much for any experience level welcomed. They didn't even try to teach
me, a libero watching this: damn i've been playing for 5 years and still mess up my steps (partly bc im left but i tend to copy others and take the steps for right-handed hitters and mess it up once i have to hit it-)
I disagree that elbow should go first in swing. This hurts shoulder, makes attacker lose height and power of spike and gives poor ball control on high level of volleyball. From my experience elbow has to stay from the side during spike, approximately on the level of shoulder. I am an ex professional player and several times in my career I had to correct my technique to stop hitting with elbow in front Everything else I agree and it is interesting and useful for me, because I'm going to be volleyball coach and right now I teach new players, most of them have zero knowledge. Thank you for this video
That's just how you should move while spiking, throwing, etc. Otherwise you restrict yourself from actually, properly following through. At least that's what my coach told me and how I perceived it.
Dmitriy Vdovin Oh I'm sorry, I agree with the coach from this video. Your (I'll just say) theory may be true though, it's just how I thought it's best. Maybe I'm just confusing something.
The redhaired girl with the white shirt reminds me so much of myself! (Also have red hair). I wish I had this kind of coach, she always tells us not to jump. I am very short and can't get over the net without jumping
i had my 7th grade girls try the 2 step approach drill, with the hope of just doing something different would help their approaches, most of them are unable to do the drill. I tell them it's more of a jump than a step, but they end up just charging the net and never turning their hips to the wall
I know, right??? I was gonna get signed up to play Volleyball in a club but the pandemic started and everything messed up. Todavia no he podido jugar aun despues de casi un año 😩

That’s a little fishy
Even though it may be fake, this inspired me a heck ton
Is anyone else like really good in practice and then when your in a game you get really nervous and mess up
Editzzz Tv yes! The reason I get super nervous is because I’m so focused on if I’m in the correct spot and not actually how good I will perform lol
It’sJust Shiloh Happens to me as well, that mostly has to do with experience. Give it a while and eventually it will all be natural

Shouldn't the footwork be left, right, left not right, left?
Kristen Ngo if you are left handed than it is right left right
theyre doing the 2 step approach. 1 big step from you right and one close left step.
Both are correct. The main thing is ending with your left step as your last step if you are a right handed hitter.
So for a 2 step approach, it would be right, left
For a 3 step approach, it'll be left, right, left
And it'll be the opposite if you are a left handed hitter. Right, left, right
depends on 4 steps or 3 steps
Thats just a faster preparation
