It is not at all. In vanilla HoI4 (at least back on 1.7 version) Germany crumbles in 45 with allies invasion in 44. USSR gets occupied relatively historical, minor changes from session to session. the Expert mod essentially showed what would have happened had Germany not rushed so hard into Russia, and had properly turtled up against the russians and allies, honestly had they not been fooled with the landing of normandy and hadn't pushed so stupidly against the Russians then they probably could have won the war, or at least held off long enough for a treaty to be made...if nukes hadn't become a thing that is.
Total War has a decison for Germany to make 'rump Italy' a puppet under the so named Republic Of Salo if Italy looses all in Africa & Sicily. Honestly, this can still be improved way more, however resources aren't endless. It is on my radar though. eg. Adding an intelligence operation for Germany to save Mussolini would be a nice extra, a challenge for Germany if they want to have a somewhat compliant rump Italy / Make it a 'civil war', even though the Italians didn't really fight one another, at least not the allied occupied South with German occupied North, partisans were active in the North and killed Mussolini in the end. Because of the current implementation, the Italy tag is not 'liberated' as usual, leading to possibly more funky outcomes like this. Historically after the Allied Invasion of Sicily, the King & Badoglio together with the Grand Council of Fascists deposed Mussolini and changed sides/'surrendered' to the Allies. Read more here: www.britannica.com/place/Italy/The-republic-of-Salo-the-Italian-Social-Republic-and-the-German-occupation Or watch: ruclips.net/video/oZePFDn3GAI/видео.html Still what happened here was actually not too far off from history. Italy came close enough to having the communists elected in the first elections post war, after first abolishing the monarchy (which the SU also pushed for in Romania & Bulgaria to further their control) The US heavily sponsored the Christian Democrat contenders to help them win and keep Italy in the Western Bloc.. Furthermore, the SU/Stalin had strong ties to the Italian communist party at this point. For further info see the earlier link and this video: ruclips.net/video/U0WrcxHO7t4/видео.html PS: Total War doesn't railroad/have an event to make Italy (potentially) join to Commintern, pure coincidence here.
Funny, in my playthrough, all of Europe fell to Czechoslovakia, North Ameica and half of Asia belongs to Japan and Soviet Union is sitting there, midning its own business. Now Czechoslovakia is in process of conquering Africa while Japan takes hold of South America. Once that happened... true World War will start. XD
First half goes to Total War. Also seems like i’ve missed some stuff in my geography classes. Soviet full invasion of Finland, then Finland joins the allies? And i’ve never heard of the naval invasion of Rome 😂 then advancing up into Vichy France and no Normandy. Good first half, but deeply degrades in 1941 and onwards. Good mod but needs alot of work.

Furthermore eg. Setting up Syria like this makes it also way easier to have the Vichy set-up event where French colonies can go either to Free or Vichy France way easier. Still Total Wars representation of both regions as puppets is not too far off (at all) as can be read above. PS: Britain also has a focus & events regarding it's controll of Egypt in Total War, check it out :).
It's crazy how vastly different these games played out. It seems like historical events on either side were like 50/50 to the accurate historical events. I mean we start out seeing Germany on both sides basically do the same exact thing but then all the sudden it seems like the expert AI had lost and messed up. They had it but by taking over Finland they ruined that potential second front that Russia had to deal with on the total war side. But at the same time in the end the total war AI ended up losing basically the same exact way the axis did in World War II. Very strange. In the end though I actually ended up watching the total war side of the game because after Germany was defeated a lot of crap went down. It looks like the Lithuanias were trying to fight off communist takeover but Italy somehow became a red satellite state. I don't know what the hell happened but a lot of crazy shit went down
The totalwar mod end was so awesome, the d-day was in the timming to split the Europe between then and in the soviets, this was so beautiful, but the peace treaty of hoi4 is a fucki** border gore
What I just watched leads me to believe that Total War AI is fucking phenomenal on a single front war, but when a new one is opened unexpectedly they crumple under their own weight and can't manage the army.
Irl Stalin invading Finland *image of a baby crying* total war Stalin *image of Stalin with eyes glowing red and flames in the backround with maniacal laughter in the backround*
Looking at both, I'd say both AI did terrible with the Germans apart from the Expert AI who didn't give Africa to the Allies, which was the fall of the total war AI as Germany. Though one did better than the other for strategies, both still would still be heavily outclassed by an ok player as Germany.

This mod has nothing to do with the total war series from creative assembly, right?!
Correct, it's just the name of the mod
On HOI expert the Faroe Islands gets invaded by Italy at one Point and the Spanish helping liberate Norway. Interesting!
Total War гораздо лучше чем Expert AI. Более историчен, динамичен и интересен. GameWatcher самый лучший канал по HOI4 😀👍 (Translate: Total War is much better than Expert AI. It is more historical, dynamic and interesting. GameWatcher is the best channel on HOI4 😀 👍 )
Hello Soviets! Appreciate kind words ;)
@@warmaps78 😉
HoI4: Germany becomes a fucking brick wall like always
HoI4TW: Wow actually realistic????
the Expert mod essentially showed what would have happened had Germany not rushed so hard into Russia, and had properly turtled up against the russians and allies, honestly had they not been fooled with the landing of normandy and hadn't pushed so stupidly against the Russians then they probably could have won the war, or at least held off long enough for a treaty to be made...if nukes hadn't become a thing that is.
Conclusion: The allies should’ve play Total War
lmao on total war mod italy is liberated by british and end up after the peace treaty in soviet hand .......

Still what happened here was actually not too far off from history.
For further info see the earlier link and this video: ruclips.net/video/U0WrcxHO7t4/видео.html
PS: Total War doesn't railroad/have an event to make Italy (potentially) join to Commintern, pure coincidence here.
XD
Video: Total War AI
Me: fucking autoresolve! wait a minute...
I have watched alot of these and so far never seen one that was historical with finland
Good mod but needs alot of work.
so ......witch one is the expert ? :/
Seems like the total war ai is more agressive, and makes riskier moves. Took the sothern path into russia while making little progress in the north
Okay who’s the player playing as ?
Ngl they both look super historical for an hoi4 game
I feel like im losing my mind because every game I play Germany and the axis win
@Pelinal Whitestrake Wtf
@Pelinal Whitestrake pretty sure the communists won bro
So player is left and AI is right?
both are AIs
Me for no reason, rooting for the axis throughout the entire video: 😑😑😑
Turkey:I DON'T CAREEE!!!!!
My question is, why the hell are syira and egypt free countrys in total war?

Basically Total War (& other mods) often make overseas territories to varying degrees serparate puppets, mostly for best AI performance.
One of the not allied invasion problems is the italians fight to the last man , when IRL the Germans had to invade them to keep them in the war.
I don't know what the hell happened but a lot of crazy shit went down
Easy. Russia had enough points in peace deal to puppet italy, so they did. Peace conference is pretty shitty tbh.
@@sleepingcity85 I never played the game so I don't know the mechanics. All I knew is I saw a communist Italy LOL sounds broken as fuck
So the Total war mod basically recreated WW2 for me.
It pains me to see that France loses in both cases
C'est marrant' dans les deux cas, les british son même pas intervenue pendant la campagne de France, finalement c'est assez réel.
C'est pas faux 😅
Why the fuck post war borders are always so scuffed
Total War Finland. Impressive.
Good video
Irl Stalin invading Finland *image of a baby crying* total war Stalin *image of Stalin with eyes glowing red and flames in the backround with maniacal laughter in the backround*
Nope, it's just propaganda that affects you.
Amazing how the Total War USSR managed to violently steamroll Germany despite being in a more desperate situation than IRL.
And Italy looses the entire war for germany on Total War...
What does total war do
overhaul mod for hoi4
hey um, what about the civil war between Spain and Catalonia? 1936-1939. irrelevant i see? maybe the IA would win the war without the human factor.
Very nice!!
Looking at both, I'd say both AI did terrible with the Germans apart from the Expert AI who didn't give Africa to the Allies, which was the fall of the total war AI as Germany.
Though one did better than the other for strategies, both still would still be heavily outclassed by an ok player as Germany.
The other is current timeline, and other one is in the cold war age.
