Paradox taking notes on how much overcomplication is too much from the HoI4 modding community:
I prefer hoi3 and wish hoi4 would end up being as complicated as this.
My only condition is that they release new features one patch at a time so I can learn them one by one

As awesome as super realist mods always look, it’s always crazy that hoi4 modders are even worse at game design then paradox is.

@@commandergreetv753it’s actually very simple when you learn it just destroyers and light cruisers as hp and some torp spam and aa fire then 1/4 bigger ships for dpm to blow up the enemy’s.
Crazy to think that technically Japan is home to the manufacturer of such a reliable vehicle that Toyota technicals are a well used form of combat during the 21st century and a common theme in popular media
Yeah thats cool but in 2005 I broke into the museum of phalluses in iceland and stole a 7 in. Horse penis. They never caught me. I still have and use it today, although I ate the right testicle for a treat a couple years ago.

“If I don’t know what I’m doing - the enemy doesn’t know either” seems to be an actual historical IJN doctrine. For example, when they have planned a raid in Indian Ocean, the allies knew Japanese plans before they even departed, but instead of following their own plans, IJN decided to send the assigned aircraft carriers to pursue a non-existent US fleet, where they hit the ground and had to postpone the operation due to the repairs, which actually allowed them to surprise the allies

playing japan in bice is like sycling exept the bike has no brakes steering only works half the time and the front weel can fall of anytime as its held in place with ducktape.

This mod looks very cool. There is no way my computer can run it without 5 speed playing like 2 speed in 1936.

Glad your doing the test version , loce what they did with all the resourece management. Please do another Germany with all of this stuff. They have quite a bit tweaked stuff, more research slots for resource managment.

They probably use this mod to train politicians and generals. But in south korea they may use a bit more immersive version where you micro manage everything to the last screw. :D I remember when I played in hoi3. Such great times

The fact that presumingly large amount of your population and perhaps even military were starving for half of the game. Yet it seemed to be of no consequence, is somewhat amusing.
I hate border conflicts in this game. Wish they made it a separate theater you slot 6 units in that covers all border conflicts.

I know it was probably a joke but Siberia has loads of fossil fuels and mineral deposits, including iron and gold and other stuff
It was more than a valid target for a resource starved island but the arctic wasteland part along with logistics and the size of the Red Army kinda sealed the deal lol

Last I played the key strat was like 2 armor "divisions" of 1 light 1 medium tank w/ truck troops and lots of light infantry. You sprint into China and just keep pushing hoping you can outrun your logistics nightmares that the inevitable Red Army Guerillas will bring.

Blackice is both amazing and horrible. It's like being a kid with 10 dollars in your pocket inside the largest toy store in the world, where the cheapest toy is 11 dollars.
The naval and tank designers are amazing in that you can more or less replicate historical designs with reasonable stats, but the economy, even for majors, is abymsal
But world Ablaze having a more simplified naval designer and an extremely limited tank designer allows for closer-to-accurate historical production numbers (both for tanks and ships)

I really want to get into this mod, but how does the AI handle all of this, if it already struggles with vanilla hoi4? Like what's the fun if you are playing alone and the AI can't keep up with absolutely anything?

Historically, the reason for the late Japanese mobilization at 4:26 is quite simple:
After the firefight at the Marco Polo Bridge, the Japanese government under Prime Minister Konoe Fumimaro initially reacted very hesitantly to the news of battle, with the intention of NOT(!) allowing the situation to further escalate, as Japan (who would've thought) wasn't prepared for a full-blown conflict with China.
In contrast, there was the Kwangtung Army stationed in Manchuria, which had already shown strong initiative during the Japanese occupation of Manchuria in 1931. In order to escalate the conflict in China they once again deceiving the Japanese government about their true intentions by falsely claiming that Japanese troops in China were in grave danger.
While the Kwangtung troups moved further and further into China the government found itself unable to stop their own troups or expose itself before world and Japanese public of having lost control of its own army, the Japanese government finally gave in and began mobilizing.
So the Nationalist army officers finally prevailed by once again confronting the government in Tokyo with a fait accompli.

I don’t know how no one knows how bay works it’s pretty easy submarines if your a minor and some balanced fleet for a major like USA soviets Britain and maybe Canada Australia or etc you cbs build small fleet for anti sub anti air build destroyers and cruisers with air support navy’s pretty fun and not well played part of the game upgrade isn’t your subs and spamming them is the easiest way to rent enemy’s if you don’t know how to play navy
You should try the old world blues mod its a fallout fan mod but its really cool because it changes the game a lot.
