Lewis knew what had gone on. Lewis said a while back that Russell was being given an advantage over him. Lewis the best at preserving his tyres. He was brought in and George left out there doing a one stop. Anything Lewis had to say would not be on the radio. Mercedes were at fault here. They tried to disadvantage Lewis after he totally deserved that win. George did not. The call for Lewis to go into the pits was against his instincts he actually said his tyres were ok. @@paulhammal7231agreed. that was the largest waste of time in the past week reading it. it was Georges choice to stay out he took initiative and he deserved that win. unfortunate about the underweight though
Lewis Hamilton knowing he had the ability to win, but remain a Mercedes team player, reveals all there is needed to known about Lewis Hamilton. But, everything Lewis has said about Mercedes apparently is reality, and yet the focus should be on the cheating aspect of Mercedes, with every F1 tech and fan knowing a driver using one stop tire change reveals the decision was not great strategy, but cheating.

He showed pace and the guts to make a risky call.
@@LunnarisLP He did really well but unfortunately he had a car outside the rules and this may have contributed to his pace towards the end of his stint.
They slept strategy with out telling the other, made Lewis pit even when he told them tyres were good. Even on the mediums Lewis had pace when they called him in. What engineers fail to do sometimes is to listen to their drivers and stop solely depend on data. Data is driving the car, the driver is
Even worse Mercedes knew Russell was underweight but rather than telling Russell to let Lewis cross the line as the winner they wait for Lewis to be called the winner over the phone an hour later with no team celebration, no top step on the podium.
Never mind Hamilton not being happy, check out Wolff after what appeared to be a stunning one two: miserable, apprehensive? By then he knew what was coming: George's long stint took more rubber off the tyres - and rubber is heavy - and tyres are times 4. When George said "leave these tyres with me" the pit couldn't really radio back "It will make your car underweight at the end" - even if they had realised straight away. An even more impossible radio message if they realised later.
Russell ended up slightly underweight cause his tyres were extremely worn and he ended up with nothing. He rolled the dice to get that Win and lost it all.
@@Maruman_man Masi followed the rules, the FIA rewrote them afterwards proving he had a point to do what Toto wanted at Spa. (not to finish under safety cars)
Mercedes have always made a big thing about never putting their drivers on different strategies, especially if it means favouring one over the other. They can offset tyres, for example if it’s soft, soft medium, the other driver could go for soft, medium, soft, but never an entirely different strat. That’s why, I believe, Lewis was angry. Not because he didn’t win, but because Merc changed the rules.
I had a lot of respect for Mercedes during their domination and beyond, but ever since LH's new contract, they have started being so salty in their handling with matters and biased towards GR, very disheartening. @@lor7780 wdym "give him a win" lol. He overtook Russell on track because he was faster which naturally gave him priority in the pit lane like it is the case with any team. either way Mercedes didnt sell him out in this race either. He made some mistakes (like going wide/locking up) into turn one, which meant he wasnt close enough for the Kemmel Straight. I mean at the end of the day a DSQ for Russell anyway, but certainly Mercedes did set up Lewis for a win here. Russell just defended really well on very old tires and Lewis was unable to attack him properly. Arguably Max wasnt able to pass Leclerc either, it was simply harder to overtake than expected.

They gave him a strategy where he would catch Russell on much fresher tires. Russell defended well, but Hamilton made a few minor mistakes after reaching DRS which cost him the P1 on track, so cant really blame Merc team for that. All they did make sure he was protected against people from behind who by the way all went to pit if you forget about that. You act as if he ended up behind Leclerc, Piastri and Verstappen who all went for a 1 stop because Merc tried out a really weird strategy with a 2 stop. But thats not what happened, basically everyone other than Russell stopped and the only reason Russell didnt do it was because he was expecting to drop way back with a pitstop and he was able to gamble. He probably expected to end up P3 behind Hamilton and Piastri with this strategy and was surprised himself that he Lewis wasnt able to overtake him.

Well, even Toto had blank face.. so he already know there about the weight problem.. remember how many engineer reminded their pilot to get enough debris on the returning lap..
Toto already knew that Russel's car had irregularities, so the look of disappointment is not possible. An attitude like this, these irregularities gave Russel an advantage of 2 to 3 descents per lap. Hamilton performed a miracle in managing to reach the finish line, not to mention that his engineer never spoke on the radio, he could give everything, although Hamilton asked for this information several times...
Russell's car did not have any "irregularities". It was underweight BECAUSE he did twice the distance on those tyres, meaning they wore down far more and weighed less. Take the wheels off and weigh the cars and both Mercs would weigh exactly the same.
There's something that's been bugging me since Silverstone that Toto said: "What a sign-off for our joint-trajectory here at the British Grand Prix. We couldn’t wish for anything better.” Ok yes he said at BGP but it feels and sounds like the split and sign off has already occurred and that's all she wrote. Lewis didn't respond. Additionally, George, Toto and Lewis all gave the same curt response after Belgium GP - 'It is what it is'. All of 'em. So, what is it? ...
Before the race the possibility was just not considered. Everyone thought tyre wear would be far worse than it ended up. Max, Oscar, Lando, Carlos, Charles, none of them one stopped. It was only during the race that drivers realised wear was far less. Lewis could have insisted on one stop. He could have just not stopped. The team could hardly force him to pit.
The usual child, what Lewis expects after he announced the he will leave Mercedes?its normal the team go with the driver the stay on even if I think Lewis is regretting that decision since Mercedes are on the rise and Ferrari is losing all the time
Stop making up drama. Lewis had 5 Laps at the end to overtake russell on 16 lap fresher tires. He made a few mistakes and was likely just disappointed and angry with himself. Pitting him was the right choice, look at piastri closing in from behind, if the tires would have fallen off just a little more they would have lost their 1+2 and had a 2+3 instead anyway. All the top teams went with a two stopper other than Russell, the next one stoppers were the AMs. People need to stop pretending as if it was a predictable thing that the one stopper would work that well. No team had any good data how the hards would perform after doing 25 laps on them..
bruh, he was asking for a one stop strategy much earlier but was denied, how would you feel if you saw your teammate beat you using the a strategy he wanted to use?
I would wish that F1 had the same ethos like MotoGP and SBK. Even with their failts, they (principals, directors) are racers. In F1, they are pirates, rich and powerful, yes, but pirates. Some of them are worse than others, though. I dont like some of the decisions of LH in his private life, and I dont matter (it is his life), but I think he is one of the cleanest drivers out there. He is more Prost-ish than Senna-ish. He, generally, is more elegant when speaking in frustration. He is not a backstabber (like the "Pironesque" Norris). I have to say that, when he was cummulating titkes and wins with a superior car, I was wishing that other cars and drivers could beat him. Because there is not anything more negative for F1, as a sport, that is a very dominant car. Anyway, I am already supporting him in Ferrari. He deserves to try to be successful with another team (imagine a title with a third team!). All that without any disrespect to Leclerc, I would be happy with whatever of them win races. BUT... I dont want Ferrari to be a dominant car... just one of the best!
I don't get the comments. Lewis was given freedom to try to overtake George at the end and he couldn't. While George got disqualified because of the weight, that clearly wasn't his fault because he did a masterclass in managing the tyres. George took that risk for a one-stopper, Lewis didn't. Stop it, George deserved this win.
George won a race because Max and Lando crashed otherwise he would have never won and now he won on a under weight car means he didn’t win he never showed he could win he’s being lucky driver cry George cry with him please let me see your tears
It must have brought back bad memories for Lewis, but it was no one’s fault. George did a Hail Mary one stop race because he had nothing to lose and against all expectations it paid off.
Before George's DSQ Shamilton fanbois :"Mercedes robbed him by not listening to him and allowing George one - stop" After George's DSQ Shamilton fanbois : "lulu 9000 IQ knew he would be underweight if he wore down his tyres so he took two stops"

Lewis Hamilton knowing he had the ability to win, but remain a Mercedes team player, reveals all there is needed to known about Lewis Hamilton.
But, everything Lewis has said about Mercedes apparently is reality, and yet the focus should be on the cheating aspect of Mercedes, with every F1 tech and fan knowing a driver using one stop tire change reveals the decision was not great strategy, but cheating.
that's killer instinct brewing up again, and that's what makes a champion. competitive car + competitive mindset
Ahhh no, its a typical bratty attitude that plagues him. Hopefully he goes to Ferrari and fails like every other WC that went to there and fades into history.
I love they this race showed exactly who Russell is and I’m also glad karma hit him right in the kisser.
Lol. Poor angry man.
Why did it show who he is? Russell made a risky strategy call, then defended well and secured first place. I'm not a big fan of the guy either since he hit Bottas on his head on that very track (2021?) but idk this race he did pretty good. Unfortunate DSQ for him. He showed pace and the guts to make a risky call.
He's been a prick in the past but how did this race show who he really is? None of this was his fault

It hurt to see Lewis drove his heart out in this races to 10 sec lead to come hm second

either way Mercedes didnt sell him out in this race either. Lewis caught up to Russell with fresh tires, which were necessary to defend against Piastri coming from behind. Cant really blame Mercedes for Hamilton being unable to overtake Russell.

Don’t be so dramatic they’ll be back to working well together until Lewis departs. People are fickle imo this is F1 not a soap opera lol
I agree.
@@LunnarisLP
1) DRS changes made it less powerful
2) LH over drove the tyres to catch Russell who was 7 seconds out
3) Russell only weighted one-stopper DQ’d. All cars weighed post race
4) GR typically faster on straights do to preferred setup difference between the drivers.
5) GR out blasted LH on straights; LH much faster in corners but overtake wasn’t possible there. Gap kept going from .3 to .6 secs.
6) Merc tried to cheat by not properly draining the car during the first weighing then drained 2.5 liters and found underweight.
It's the consciousness of guilt that should strike everyone.

@@karlbassett8485 They did almost exactly that, at Mercedes request they fitted the car with unused tires and it still failed the weight lol

The best driver all time is Hamilton!!!!
Later didn’t Lewis revealed that before the race, they had a strategy meeting where he suggested a possibility of a 1-stop?
Before the race the possibility was just not considered. Everyone thought tyre wear would be far worse than it ended up. Max, Oscar, Lando, Carlos, Charles, none of them one stopped. It was only during the race that drivers realised wear was far less. Lewis could have insisted on one stop. He could have just not stopped. The team could hardly force him to pit.

the f*ck are you on about
Stop making up drama.
Well then don’t put up the “equal treatment” facade at least
I'm thinking they turned down lewis car cause george was pulling away on 30 lap hards, and lewis was pissed when Guenther was doing his Q&A.
Hey, stop messing with the facts, you m®on, Lewis wanted and asked to stay out and they denied it to him
