Seeing the designers and engineers speak the tech lingo and design context gives me more confidence in the brand. We need more of these type of videos from all companies. Excellent video!
I am a proud owner of the 1000s sportsman and it is hands down the best I have ever riden or owned. The smooth plush feel over any terrain is bar none the best ever. Thank you Polaris for being the leaders and creating this masterpiece!!
@@chrisdodson2917 not any performance mods I haven't . Only changed headlights and handle bar light a strobe and added a bluetooth speaker setup. It has everything I needed from the factory and goes places you wouldn't dream it would make it through. Very happy with it.
I bought one too and use it on the trails in Maine. Been riding my who life, this is by far the best handling capable machine I've ever ridden. I'm super happy with this purchase
The one dude that talked about 55 inch wide to Standard wide ATVs... is on point that’s why I stop riding sport ATVs I got tired getting hung up or stuck in a rut and stuff... because ever trail now days are ate out by sxs... making more travel and widen it out was the best thing for utility 4-wheeler and sport 4-wheeler’s...... love it Polaris keep up the work💪💪💪💪💪💪💯💯.. wish I could have the new scrambler
Picked my 2020 Scrambler 1000 S last Tuesday then headed out to West Virginia on Thursday. The machine is awesome, felt invisible on the trail. I also have a 2018 scrambler 1000, 2019 renegade 1000 xxc and it does not seem fear. My boys kept commenting how easy it handled the bumps and turns. Loving the vehicle. Getting rid of the 2018 scrambler but keeping the renegade.
Frame!!! Only 30% stronger than the standard model. I gave up on polaris because of the broken frames continuously, continuously, constantly. 30% heavier = the same frame problems, guaranteed! People actually ride these things offroad in harsh environments. Bought a renegade 1000xxc and then another and I cant break it. Over 6000 miles on the first one. None of my 3 sportsmans lasted 3000 miles before the horrendous problems n costs made me get rid of them. Frame upgrade of 130% stronger needed at the very least!
Too much money for an atv. U can buy an RS1 for the same money and get more HP and just plain more vehicle. Lower the price by at least a couple grand and it would be more attractive.
I think it’s a great move going 55 inch. It allows more robust parts to be used which god knows Polaris needs!! Sportsman 1000s stay tore up all the time and they needed a bigger diff and other parts to handle the engine power. It won’t be long ALL 1000cc quads will be 55 inch to increase durability. I’m waiting for the new 55 inch Kawasaki Brute Force 1000 😎
This concept has great potential but This is no where near the ultimate atv First weight is getting out of control With these atvs Weight plus hp equals dangerous combo Watch the rider in video The machine is all over the place in the rough Look up dean sundahl and his frame design he made for desert racing He raced atcs for honda before 4wheelers ever existed My sundahl banshee has same 92 hp But half the weight 18 inches of travel You can stand a 5 gallon bucket under frame and it clears it Just axle is low My point is at speed it takes longer to stop because of extra suspension travel and inertia of travel We’re building custom front brakes to make it stop better It weighs probably 400 lbs With that travel it changes the way you ride in certain situations In straight line Faster you go smoother it gets No way in hell I would ride this sportsman to the same speed in rough whoops etc because of the unsprung mass. It’s an accident waiting to happen. Just because it’s wider doesn’t mean it will automatically be better One brake lever is NOT better than separate front and rear brake levers in performance atvs You loose that finite control In braking Belt drive kills my interest in this atv We own a 1000 rzr so I’m not a Polaris hater but not happy with belt on it either If you want to understand where I’m coming from look at a video of Toby price or Ben grabham riding Ktm 450 in finke race called Bound for speed Ktm desert team High Hp with low weight Watch that bike move around under the rider High hp low weight The factory’s have abandoned pure performance atvs other than Yamaha And it’s not pushing the envelope either No competition We own two 700 raptors also so I know that atvs shortcomings also This is just a rzr you can ride Yeah I applaud Polaris for trying to do something The rzr changed the game and they keep upgrading it through the years Polaris owns Indian motorcycles They are aggressively giving Harley Davidson competition in their market forcing Harley to step up their performance in their motorcycles Polaris is an aggressive company trying to improve They are doing something and that’s great Maybe the scrambler will open the door for future development of the ultimate Atv That machine hasn’t been built yet And with the sxs market having such diverse competition and improvements every year its hard for Atv riders to see that same commitment from the factories 45 years old been around dirt bikes, street bikes, atcs, and atvs all my life Love to ride but don’t know if that next level will ever come to the atv industry Afraid sxs have taken any hope of that I hope I’m wrong
That was the most incoherent rambling comment I've ever read but having said that. I think I get what you're saying. Polaris should change the laws of physics as we know it. Make steel lighter than aluminum and stronger than carbide. That way it could weigh half as much like my sport QUAD! Quads are awesome but built for only ONE thing. Performance. This a utility ATV capable of not only keeping up with a sport quad. But blowing it out of the water in straight line speeds. Keep in mind this is a BIG BORE, 4 WHEEL DRIVE, performance UTILY 4 wheeler. NOT a sport quad which is nothing more than a dirt bike with 2 extra tires. I agree I think it's time for the industry as a whole to move away from CVT belt transmission designs. But Polaris does make a good one. And on utility based machines they make more sense. No shift shock to jar a load on a rack. Been through that many times on Honda wheelers. And you still have independent control of rear brakes on a Polaris machine. It's just through a pedal instead of a handle. Shame on you for making me defend this monstrosity! Polaris should have just slapped a turbocharged 1000cc in the scrambler and called it a day.
Brandon Crimmins well when they started talking about racing a 900 lb plus atv and that they set out to build the ultimate atv then yeah I have to disagree There are other ways to build a lightweight 4x4 sport atv Christini has been building light weight two wheel dirt bikes for years Look them up Hub drive I refuse to settle for what the manufacturers are selling if there are ways to make a leaner machine I guess we would still be driving the same cars they drove in the 50’s without innovation A 1000 v twin that only makes 90 hp A Ktm 500 exc puts out 55 hp roughly Raptor 700 what about 35-40 hp Inefficient design Or government control off showroom floor
@@housemovershane8810 you keep comparing these to dirtbikes and quads... Which means you're as stupid as your comments. Comparing these to a dirt bike especially... is like comparing a fully loaded Kenworth to a smart car. And this may surprise you but there are COMPLETELY SEPERATE classes for these utility based sport wheelers to compete in. Just the same as quads and dirtbikes don't compete in the same class professionally. And yes... You're right. While you do have completely independent control of the rear brake on these machines with the pedal. The handle always activates all brakes. Again... On a machine evolved from a utility machine. An AWESOME idea. I've also done some amateur racing and don't know why you would ever need just the front brake. That's a great way to eat some dirt. Rear brake by itself...? Yes! But fronts no. My friends and I ride while hunting with our shotgun in one hand and driving with the other. Using only the rear brake. This way regardless of how fast we have to stop. The machine doesn't pull or jerk one way or the other And always tracks straight. Even under full lock of the rear brakes. And yes... This is on PRIVATE property. This concept has great potential but
This is no where near the ultimate atv
First weight is getting out of control
With these atvs
Weight plus hp equals dangerous combo
Watch the rider in video
The machine is all over the place in the rough
Look up dean sundahl and his frame design he made for desert racing
He raced atcs for honda before 4wheelers ever existed
My sundahl banshee has same 92 hp
But half the weight
18 inches of travel
You can stand a 5 gallon bucket under frame and it clears it
Just axle is low
My point is at speed it takes longer to stop because of extra suspension travel and inertia of travel
We’re building custom front brakes to make it stop better
It weighs probably 400 lbs
With that travel it changes the way you ride in certain situations
In straight line
Faster you go smoother it gets
No way in hell I would ride this sportsman to the same speed in rough whoops etc because of the unsprung mass. It’s an accident waiting to happen.

You loose that finite control In braking
Belt drive kills my interest in this atv
We own a 1000 rzr so I’m not a Polaris hater but not happy with belt on it either
If you want to understand where I’m coming from look at a video of Toby price or Ben grabham riding Ktm 450 in finke race called
Bound for speed Ktm desert team
High Hp with low weight
Watch that bike move around under the rider
High hp low weight
The factory’s have abandoned pure performance atvs other than Yamaha
And it’s not pushing the envelope either
No competition
We own two 700 raptors also so I know that atvs shortcomings also
This is just a rzr you can ride
Yeah I applaud Polaris for trying to do something
The rzr changed the game and they keep upgrading it through the years
Polaris owns Indian motorcycles
They are aggressively giving Harley Davidson competition in their market forcing Harley to step up their performance in their motorcycles
Polaris is an aggressive company trying to improve
They are doing something and that’s great
Maybe the scrambler will open the door for future development of the ultimate Atv
That machine hasn’t been built yet
And with the sxs market having such diverse competition and improvements every year its hard for Atv riders to see that same commitment from the factories
45 years old been around dirt bikes, street bikes, atcs, and atvs all my life
Love to ride but don’t know if that next level will ever come to the atv industry
