    Meridian State Park, a rather small park, is located about 50 miles northwest of Waco, and about an hour and a half from Fort Worth. The park has 40 total campsites. Eight are pull through sites with full hook ups. Six sites have water and electricity, but no RVs longer than 19' are allowed in those.
    Eight sites are primitive with no potable water in the area. Fifteen screened shelters are in the park, and three cabins are also there.
    We will go ahead and mention that Meridian State Park has a group site which will accommodate 49 people. It has a kitchen with electricity, coffee pot, microwave, a bathroom, AC/heat, a commercial refrigerator, and 2 gas stoves. Outside there are a patio with a barbecue grill, two picnic tables, eight folding tables, and 49 chairs.
    One of the big draws of Meridian State Park is its lake. The lake is contained within the park, and the reason that matters is fishing size and bag limits in the park may differ from those in other lakes. The park does have a tip sheet with those limits. Ask for one before you fish. Although Texas has been in a terrible drought, we have had some much needed and welcome rains this spring; however, when we were at the park in January, both the boat ramp and the fishing pier were closed due to low lake levels. We suggest you call and ask about the ramp before you tow a boat to Meridian.

    lo from the quiet sunny ozarks Milenda and Sharon! another video of value. i enjoy my tuctek kayak more now that i added a stadium seat about 4in. from the kayak floor. makes it easier to cast and still very stable. lots of great memories of fishing and being outside in Gods green earth. i just put on 5000miles on my ebike mostly around the lakes and parks. i will be needing my first rear tire soon as it is worn down . my front still has a little tread left but will replace both at same time. i have the 20x4 knobby tires. brakes still great. always great to know your park and limitations ahead of time and thanks for your time in sharing. Grace be with you both. tight lines!

      Five thousand miles, wow! We have the same 20 x 4 tires, and we love them. We have only about 3200 miles on our bikes. Lots of those miles have been put on in state and national parks, but a lot were and are put on it our small town.
      Sharon absolutely loves our Tucktec. It folds small enough that she takes it almost everywhere we go. I think her stadium seat is probably a bit closer to the bottom of the kayak, but she's still able to cast and reel in fish. Oh, by the way, thank you for the tip about the drill as a little motor. Sharon bought one yesterday, and she took the kayak oot today to try it out.

    I love the hill country of Texas. I've gotten to visit a few state parks in those areas and they are beautiful. I'm also partial to Arkansas State Parks also. :) Thank you for the tour of this one!

      We've never been to a state park in Arkansas. We've been to a COE park that was absolutely gorgeous.

    Thank you for the video. We have reservations for Labor Day weekend at one of the larger primitive campsites that can accommodate 24 people. This will be our first time visiting this State Park and I was seriously considering making the 2 hr drive down one weekend just to have a look around before Labor Day. This video helped a lot. Although, I wish y’all had video of our actual campsite. Thanks again!

      We hope you have a great time at Meridian State Park. It's one of our favorites. It should be plenty warm over Labor Day weekend, but it should be fun.

    hello from the quiet colorful ozarks Milena and Sharon! have you been Fossil Rim Wildlife Center in Glen Rose Texas and if you have, what did you enjoy about it? im curious, received some places to enjoy animals. tight lines!

      It was a winter day, very cold for that area. Sharon and I went to Fossil Rim, but we decided not to go in. We could see some animals, but most seemed to be inside their enclosures to stay warm. Sorry we can't be of more help.

    Do y’all ride your bikes on the trails off the road? I always did but my bike man said never ride a E-bike on dirt or sandy roads I’ve never had a problem at all we did decide not to ride on the beach again thought I would ask your thoughts

    • @TwoTiredTeachers
      @TwoTiredTeachers  Год назад +1

      We have ridden on trails. We don't ride in sandy areas because ours tend to lose traction. We have fat tires, which seem to make trails easier.
