Bonded cats should never be separated. Very fortunate that Yoshi was able to accept a new bond.
That's how i ended up with 3 siblings the first time, and then a pair of brothers (there was a third, but he was gone when i got them). Totally agree, bonded pairs+ should not be seperated.
this ..shelters shouldnt do this ever
I agree!
@@bustsomecaps... exactly how cruel to separate buddies.
@@bustsomecaps In a perfect world shelters wouldn't have to, but if the world was perfect animals wouldn't be in shelters in the first place. Shelters give so much about their animals but unfortunately there is only so much they can do, and beggars can't be choosers. Otherwise they would get stuck with every animal and it costs too much money.
What a sweet baby. I really wish people wouldn't separate bonded animals and that shelters wouldn't allow it. Find a different cat. It's so hard on them when this happens. Thankfully, sweet Yoshi found a kind mommy to love on him.
Most shelters don’t allow it. You either take them both or you don’t adopt either. I’m confused why this shelter allowed that
I was going to say the same thing about shelters or rescues.
Any of the ones I know in my region/municipality never separate bonded pairs.
💕💕💕
@@ArabianConjureonly thing I can think is if the animals have been at the shelter for a long time and it's that time so they will just let them be separated if it means an higher chance to be adopted. But these looked like 2 young cats so I don't know what the case was here😢
One has to assume that there was a good reason, but mistakes also do occur. Very glad that Yoshi has found such a good home.
Exactly ! So sad 🙏🏾♥️
That shelter did the cruelest thing in separating these bonded cats.
Cats are very social animals and need company.
I'm so disappointed that the shelter would allow bonded kitties to be adopted separately. Totally understand that the family could only take one cat, but breaking up a bonded pair... These kitties just have each other. So very happy that this worked out in the end.
So hard to see bonded pairs split up. Thank you so much for adopting Yoshi--you are both very special.
Yoshi is the sweetest soul. He's so gentle and cuddling. Thank you for adopting him an giving him the best life. I hope Brooklyn ended up in a loving family just like Yoshi's.
I hope so as well.
@@prodigyofechoesI predict Brooklyn got sent back to the shelter once they realize how depressed he was without his bonded pair.
@@REAL-UNKNOWN-SHINOBI 😭 was he able to be reunited with his brother who I think was also adopted?
I pray he was, poor Brooklyn.
It is sad they were broken up bur I'm sure Brooklyn ended up with a loving family..I couldn't see someone going to a shelter to adopt n spend lots of money getting a fur baby if they didn't care or want them 💕
I know we’re in a crisis right now, but if there are bonded pairs, shelters should be adamant that the pairs go together. The shelter really needs to put their foot down. They’re adorable cats. They would’ve been adopted right away if they had been given half a chance. Breaking up a bonded pair is so cruel.
Sad that he had to be separated from his brother. He's like a big, striped baby. So sweet the way he hangs over your shoulder. Beautiful face.
Pro Tip: I know every situation is different, but if you're ever in a position to adopt 2 cats, adopting a bonded pair and keeping them together is one of the greatest gifts you can give. I adopted a pair of bonded brothers from the same shelter, and they are best buddies and they love and look after each other. I'd never DREAM of separating them. Same goes if you stumble upon a set of actual sibling cats.
Even if not a pair bonded like that if you get a kitten you gotta get a second. They need someone to play with and even if you have kids who will be playing with them they'll get lonely at night when everyone is sleeping if they don't have a littermate.
Awe! It breaks my heart when I hear about sibling pets adopted separately. Glad you found this sweet boy.
He really loves affection. I'm glad he has the two of you. Since you travel, he has your husband for the cuddling! So sweet.
I hope Yoshi gets another housemate. Although I’m sure he misses his brother, another kitty would be great for his well being.
I totally agree! We had a single kitten for a few months and took a chance on getting an another kitten for him. I have never seen two cats love each other more than they do. Two cats are better than one 😊
It could be but it could also be bad. Usually another cat works well but sometimes it can cause behavioral and territorial behavior in both cats. Especially with females. That being said he probably would be just fine Especially with how well he was already bonded to another cat. The issues I brought up typically occur in cats taken too early or solo orphans that are raised to adulthood without another cat and again it's mostly with female pairs versus all male or male and female pairs.
Thank you, Rachel.
You gave a champion a home.
You saved the world.
Awwww! He packs his toy for her when she travels! It's his way of saying, "Don't forget me, Mom! Here's something to remember me by until you get home!' ❤
Bonded pairs should never be split up. That breaks my heart, but how wonderful that you took him in. ❤
That's awful. The shelter absolutely should not have allowed them to be separated.
Thank you for adopting this beautiful boy....you are both special souls.💙
For Yoshi being so young, he has an old soul & he's extremely polite, patient & mature, which are the things that make him sooo special & not difficult to fall in love with...❤❤❤
hello dear ❤😊
Tx for adopting yoshi. He loves you and has a good life. I wonder if you could get in touch with the people who adopted his brother. If they did not care about separating the brothers maybe they are not so animal loving and they might be fine with reuniting the two. That would be a great gift seeing them together again.
Thanks for taking him home. You are a kind person for giving him a good home.
I used to volunteer at a shelter and they were very careful about separating bonded pairs...if they really felt they wouldn't do well on their own, they wouldn't do it. However, in a few cases, they did adopt them out alone if they had been there a long time - adopting out two cats together is harder than just one - and someone wanted to adopt just one cat because they felt that it wasn't fair to keep at least one cat from the experience of having a family. I can see both viewpoints. But glad that Moshe ended up with such a beautiful, loving family...
I had to board my two that I had some years ago and one started howling and wouldn't quit. When they called me and told me about it I told them to put them together. End of problem. I never intended for them to separate them for the 10 days I was gone. I cut the vacation short by three days.
People who adopt one animal of a bonded pair are selfish and cruel. Just because an animal "can" survive and even thrive after being separated doesn't make it ok.
A family of angels. Got me tearing when you talked about Yoshi's separation. Much love to you all❤
You’re definitely a good kitty mama. He’s your forever companion. God bless you for taking this little boy.❤❤❤
He’s absolutely gorgeous!!! So sad they separated them! Wish they wouldn’t do that. Glad Yoshi’s in good and loving hands!!! Thank you
❤❤❤
Most kitties in a litter are close. But most do not get to stay together. I did take both brothers home from the shelter. Then I found a 5 week old kitten near the trash dumpsters. Now the two brothers added a little brother and the three of them have a special bond.
This cat was definitely missing his sibling never should be separated whenever you see a bonded pair better to adopt them in pairs, thankful for the lady who gave him a loving home. ❤️🙏🏼
Yoshi is so nice and sweet...you just wanna hug him.
You’re amazing for taking this gorgeous boy I wish you many happy days with your little one
What a shame that the two were separated. I once adopted a feral cat and went back to adopt her kitten as I did not know of the relationship. It helped with both for the duration of their lives.
Despite the fact that you saved him you are very lucky to have such a cat. A lap cat is a rarity and a blessing.
I got cat like this when I was 8 years old. He was my personal cat who went to the bathroom with me and so on. One more extra plus: he didn't go to the cat litter box but to the human toilet.
He had been living with me until my 25 💜
❤❤❤SWEET YOSHI ❤❤❤ I’m sorry you got separated from your brother. I’m glad you found such a good mama. We love you and wish you your best life 😍
This story brought tears to my eyes near the end. Not that it was sad but because it was so touching and sweet. I started to tear up when I saw the photos of the husband and Yoshi sleeping together. They’re blessed to have Yoshi, who seems so in tune with them. Yoshi is blessed to have been elected by the perfect parents. He seems so very content now ❤
Who does that, adopt only one of two bonded siblings? Almost 30 years ago, my husband wanted to adopt a boy and found out he had a brother, he didn't chose them as he didn't want to separate them. Instead he took their Mum, who was 5 and lived another 10 with us. Don't separate them when they are used to each other, it's so cruel.
I'm surprised the shelter let that happen.
I adored seeing him in your suitcase! I've lived that with a few of mine over the years
Ohhhh, sweet Yoshi - I love that he packs one of his toys in Rachel's luggage when she goes away. He's thinking "I'm not taking any chances, this will keep her from forgetting me and remind her that I am back home, patiently waiting...💞
What a sweet boy. Im so happy he found love with you guys. Breaking up a bonded pair is so cruel. Im glad his story has such a happy ending ❤❤
What a sweet gentleman kitty!
We really need more people like you. Thanks for this good news.
After I lost my second feline son to cancer I looked for an adult/senior cat and inquired about one. That shelter said he was bonded and I would never separate any bonded animal. They feel love, loss and heartache too. I did find a sweet boy that really needed love and patience to come out of his shell, and doing well now.
Good for you to take him home that he knows love and belonging.
I agree keep family together
1:42 Awwww
Whether its dogs or cats or whatever bonded pair, I really believe they should stay together. This past week I adopted a kitten. I visited the shelter two times before I adopted. When I would visit there were a pair of kittens that were obviously bonded. The way they played and reacted to each other, I could tell they were a pair. I was interested in one of them. When I returned two days later, my plan was to adopt one of them, but hoping they had been adopted together. Sure enough, I asked about them, and was told they were adopted as a pair. Got another kitten & everybody won, including the two kittens that will remain together.
I agree. This was the best result.
Wtf? You say you believe animals should stay together but then tell an anecdote of how you were only gonna adopt 1 animal from a bonded pair? Maybe the Xanax I took is impairing my reading ability cus you wouldn't have commented something so idiotic, so if that's the case I apologize
@@billblaski9523 Nope you read it right.
@@billblaski9523 Hey dingbat, yeah you read it right. And the odds of me changing my mind to not adopting one of the two was very strong. If I was so adamant about adopting just one, I would have done so the first day I was there. But I did not, hoping the two were a package deal. In the grand scheme of things, the two got adopted & I got another cat. That's three kittens/cats whose lives were saved. So, hopefully you do not OD on the Xanax you are taking. Ahh, maybe it would be better if you did.
Animals bond with each other. I have had many animals. Dogs and even cats and they all bonded together. They feel grief or depression, just like humans do. When separated by an owner they bond with or another animal that they were close with. They feel separation and death. They most definitely feel it. I have personally had experience watching this first hand. I can use few examples. My animals were really close. When one passed, after that, they all passed one after another. There was some time in-between them, however, they all went one after another. I even observed their behaviour before they left and one can tell they were broken hearted. Then another case is my mother had a dog before she passed when he was a pup. She passed and disappeared from his life obviously. Then I took care of her and then he was ripped away from me. Not only did the dog lose my mother. She disappeared and didn't come back, but I was ripped out of her life and she didn't know if I would come back, too? Imagine the separation anxiety, depression, abandonment, and all the emotions one would feel if one were human? Of course, every situation is different. However, my dogs and cats were so bonded. They have emotions, mental, and spiritual health, just like humans do. My step father ripped her out of my life and doesn't tend to her emotional, mental and spiritual health and he wonders why she acts the way she does around him? When I see her, I heal her and calm her, yet he can't understand her emotional, mental, and spiritual health. I on the other hand can because I take care of my emotional, mental, and spiritual health, so I can understand hers. He on the other hand can't because he can't even understand himself. I am only going on my experiences only and not implying anyone else in this matter. Also, every situation is different, as I always state.
I love this cat, you’re so lucky to have him - he’s gentle, playful and affectionate. ❤
What a sweet boy🥰. Thank you for adopting him so fast after he got separated from his brother, and for loving on him so much. 💕
Yoshi is a wonderful well mannered Cat. You are lucky to have each other.
What a Sweet Boy❤ Thanks for giving Yoshi a loving home❤❤❤❤❤❤
SO glad you adopted Yoshi...what a sweet kitty...you are all very lucky.
So cute 🐱 I had a mackerel tabby just like Yoshi, they're such friendly kitties 🤗💕
Never heard that term before
@@M_SC Black striped back, arms and tail tabby cats are called mackerel tabbies in Australia 🌏
I have an 18 year old handsome mackeral tabby, man cat. They're awesome😻
@@katrina3560 Aww cute 🐱 that's a fine old age for your fur baby 😻
@@JenTibbi7023 we joke that he is mocking the notion of 9 lives. I thought I was going to lose him a couple years ago due to some health issues. Now I cater to him and he eats like a 👑, he knows his worth🤭 He is the grumpy man of the house, helping us to raise and keep 3 little humans and 3 other fur babies in line😂
Wonderful Yoshi.
They should never brake up bonded pairs. We saw a litter where there were two grey tabby brother and sister kittens (about 3 months) who would always cuddle together. We adopted them, and over the last 6 years have taken them with us across cities, countries and continents and they are the best cats - so affectionate, lively, crazy, and happy.
I cried here. So sweet!
Yes always so sad to separate siblings especially two.
But Thank God Yoshi got a loving caring family.

Thank you so much 🙏💛💙💛💙💛💙💛💙💛💙💛
Yay for Yoshi.
He's a real sweetheart who loves his humans very much. Being adopted by you is something he won't ever forget. You're his dream come true! Thanks so very much for taking him into your home and your heart.😽
Bonded cats should always be adopted together. Caring for 2 doesn't require much more effort than caring for 1.
God bless you!!!
This channel has been the best at making content. We wish them success.
What an incredibly sweet cat and parents!!! May you have a joy-filled, healthy, and laughter-filled long life together! ❤
I would have gone to the other family and asked if I could have the brother to keep them together. 😢❤
Bless your sweet and kind heart.
I am so glad that you took this beautiful kitty into your life. I can see that you are giving him as much love as you both can. May our Lord Bless and keep all of you always. Sincerely Linda McCartney a lady who feels for the kitty who was left behind. But,he has two parents to Love him now.Thank you so much,Linda McCartney
in spite of being separated from his brother, Yoshi found a wonderful mum and dad and a great home....thank you
So sweet! Thank you for saving him!
Yoshi is special and your affection makes him so unique!
Thank you for giving him a great life. Stay blessed beautiful people. 😊😊😊
I'm sorry they were separated but I'm glad you gave him a good home. Our first cats we had planned on getting two. My wife found a couple torties she liked and when I went to look at them their brother looked so lost as to why his sisters were getting attention and he wasn't. So I said, "but what about him", and we left with all three. Never regretted that. They were wonderful cats and he was such a friendly boy. This was in the mid 90's so they're all been gone now for many years but not a day goes by that I don't think of them.
I understand!❤
Poor baby separated ! But Thank God you and hubby rescued him he is adorable ❤
What a beautiful, sweet Cat 😻 Thank you so much for giving Yoshi the best life. He truly does adore you 💖💞💝💟💜💜🎁
He's a lovely cat,you have a sweet bond❤
Nice work. I have four myself and I take care of momma and poppa with six kittens at work. We adopted two and rescued two. I’m waiting to rescue one or two of the new ones. I can’t get to close yet.
What a very lovely family. Thank you for sharing your love for Yoshi. ❤
Such a sweet and loving kitty who was so fortunate to have been adopted by such an equally sweet and loving couple. A match made in kitty heaven! Hope you have a great life together with precious Yoshi!
What a sweet cat it's a shame that he was separated from his best friend but sometimes that's how things work out I guess but glad he has a real good home now❤
You hit the jackpot with this sweet boy! 🥰😍🩵💙🩵💙
So, I don't have cats, but I think the smile on my lips went around my head and my heart. This is THE perfect match for this cat and this family!
Thank you for giving Yoshi such a loving home 💛
Wow, they are both beautiful, gorgeous, amazing adorable, wonderful lovely cats!!🥰🥰😻😻🐈🐈😻😻🥰🥰
Thank you for sharing this. Yoshi reminds me of my street rescue cat Bjorn who also likes to be cuddled and carried around. He is very attached to my senior cat TC as well as (surprise, surprise) the German Shepherd Odie. Wonderful things can happen!
Animal pairs that are already bonded shouldn't ever be separated.
Such a beautifuĺ, sweet boy. ❤
You hit a GRAND SLAM!!!!! He's a big, nice looking guy!! Thanks to YOU for taking him in!!🐈🐈🖤🤗🥰
You are all adorable and make the sweetest family. xx
hello dear ❤😊
BIG thumbs down to the 'shelter' breaking up a bonded pair! As far as I know such a mean thing never happens in my country. But if so, I'd be ashamed for such.
BIG thumbs up for this lovely woman, seeing his plight and offering him a replacement. And this man, for trying to be content with the left-over crumbs.
I'm happy for sweet yoshi❤❤
OK, that made me tear up. I would have taken him, too. Thank you for giving him a beautiful life.
Yoshi is the sweetest and most polite cat I have ever seen. ❤
Thank you for coming to his rescue. God bless you.
Beautiful story! I hope you both have Yoshi for a long time. You have a wonderful heart and he knows it and is grateful that you came back and took him home!
Perfect purr-fect match. A kind feline adopted by two kind people. Game, set match!
Bless you
Thank you so much for filling that void in his life. I was so sad when the story unveiled that he was left alone without his sibling. He's so much like a baby, wanting to be carried and held...so adorable!
Why do people do that??? “Couldn’t take any more cats”? Then don’t take them unless you can pair them!!! They’re adorable, they absolutely would’ve been adopted together soon if they had been given the chance. This drives me insane, why are humans
thank you for being such a wonderful cat mom for Yoshi xoxoxo
What a sweetheart.🐱
What an awesome story, sad tears and happy tears both and I'm a rock, I live with animals that's my family each one has found me on their own and each one is special just like your baby! What an awesome human you are you and your husband !!!!!
Yoshi is just pure love & everything that's good in the world
Separating the brothers should be considered a crime against humanity 💔
