      Hi there Knitting For Life! That's a great idea - and it is amazing what you can make from a rectangle of knitted or crocheted fabric! These little fish can be tied on to a string too, for cats to play with! Thank you for telling us all about your plans! Kindest, Merion xx

      LoveCrafts, I just rewatched the video and got inspiration for putting together a kit of supplies to send to each of my two grandchildren, ages 4 & 5. They're very creative and love hands-on projects. In each child's kit, I'll include a knit square (or maybe more) in the yarn colors I know they like, plenty of yarn for seaming, an ample amount of stuffing, a large plastic darning needle, and fun buttons for the eyes.
      Of course, they'll need help, but it will demonstrate rudimentary hand-sewing skills, and something to be proud of when they're done. Mommy will probably need to sew on the eyes for them, which she won't mind. I'll find some cute way of packaging their kits, possibly sewing up a drawstring bag in fun fabric for each.

      Hey there :) We are so happy to hear that you like our video. Absolutely, you can definitely use a crochet hook to tie it all together, as long as it is secured and the stuffing won't fall out! We would love to see your version, if you ever feel like sharing it with us! Have a wonderful day and happy making! Sarah at LoveCrafts

    Hold on how did you end up with two tails?
    And when you threaded those in, how did you make it curve?

    • @lovecraftscom
      @lovecraftscom  4 года назад

      Hi there Sydnamon, the two ends in the tail come because I stitch across on one side, and back on the other. To make the tail curve, just stitch a running stitch with a little bit more yarn back across the tail horizontally, and pull to gather, and then sew the ends in! You can play around with these little fish for hours, changing the shapes! Great fun! Happy knitting, love Merion xx

    • @lovecraftscom
      @lovecraftscom  3 года назад

      Hi there Sh, you need to cast on and knit rows until you can fold your square diagonally in half, and then cast off. You might find our How to Knit for beginners video helpful for this! Kindest wishes, Merion and the LoveCrafts team xx

  • @Quantum_GirlE
    @Quantum_GirlE 5 лет назад +36

    Doesn't really count as under 10 minutes if you have to stitch the square first.

    • @lovecraftscom
      @lovecraftscom  5 лет назад +8

      well I guess that all depends on how big the fish is and how quick you knit ;)

    Can you also use a crocheted square ?
    Or does it have to be a knitted square

    • @lovecraftscom
      @lovecraftscom  5 лет назад +1

      Hey Sumaya- this should also work with a crocheted square. Just make sure the stitches are tight enough so that the filling won't show :) We would love to see your version once its finished! Happy making, Sarah at LoveCrafts

    • @sewerratwithabaguette1443

      Warrior Princess if you use good thread then yes I’d also recommend doubling your thread. Hope this helps :)

    • @lovecraftscom
      @lovecraftscom  4 года назад

      Hi Warrior Princess - absolutely good point - yes, if you stitch it really securely as Jess F suggests, but if you are worried at all, then just sew an eye with some different coloured yarn! Love, Merion xx
