Healer's Dilemma: COMPLETE CHARITY Old Forest ThunderClan Warrior Cats Medicine Cats MAP

- (As you can see, it's uploaded on 1st November, the All Saint's Day. I think the theme of this MAP fits neatly with a holiday centered around those who passed away and remembering them)
First of all, as you can see, this is a charity MAP so all the money made off it will go to Centaurus (centaurus.org.pl/), a Polish charity for horses and other animals.
Second, this MAP was co-hosted with Maxe2Fun
Third, oof! This project was a very rough one to deal with, during the making of it my laptop broke twice, the contact with artists wasn't easy and a lot of them dropped out. BUT when I look at the final result, I feel nothing but satisfaction. I'm still very proud of the very concept for this MAP and the way all the artists made it real? Amazing job. Thank you!

Never stopped to realize that Spottedleaf saved the future medicine cat. This was very cool! And relaxing, considering the talk about death.

Wait i never noticed that Spottedleaf saved Cinderkit, who would grow up to also be a medicine cat
@TheService._. Cloud yes. She was with the kits in the medicine den I believe. A shadowclan warrior (I forgot who) came in and took the kits, she tried to save them. She lost her life trying to protect them.
It was ClawFace
During the attack, the cats there were brackenkit, thornkit, cinderkit, brightkit, spottedleaf and clawface.
Spottedleaf was killed by clawface while trying to protect the 4 kits.
i also like the parallel between spottedleaf and cinderpelt because cinderpelt lost her life saving kits
I love medicine cats
And queens
And elders
And kits
And basically anybody who isn't a warrior, deputy, or leader because those positions are too glorified

I love this map so much, everyone did so well! This will be my favorite Medicine cat map because it goes really in depth about the truth of the clan's 'healers'. It shows the emotional pain they go through and not that every life can be saved, and this map shows it!

Cinderpelt looks at Leafpaw as she’s busy learning about herbs. Zoom on Leafpaw, she seems very focused. Include text “Healer’s Dilemma” “complete ThunderClan medicine cats MAP”
0:13-0:20 Who shares my Gift, whose eyes though young are mine the very same
Cinderpelt and Leafpaw are taking care of pregnant Ferncloud. They reach for the same herb at the same time and smile at each other.
0:20-0:27 Who shares my every thought whose skillful hands I taught so well
Cinderpelt licks Leafpaw’s forehead. At “thought” you can show stars in both cats’ eyes. Cinderpelt lifts Leafpaw’s paw with hers.
0:27-0:34 Now hear the hardest lesson I shall ever have to tell
Leafpaw is sitting close to Cinderpelt, as Cinderpelt starts drawing a simplified picture of Cloud Spots on the ground with her claw.
0:34-0:41 Young healer I have taught you all I know of wounds and pain
Cloud Spots with the group of the ancient cats are traveling to find the new territory. Then, show him taking care of ill cats in Thunder’s camp.
0:41-0:48 Of illnesses and of the herbs of blessing and of bane
Pearnose (use the NON-STARCLAN design) is trying to help Leafstorm who suffers from greencough, but fails and watches the deputy die.
0:48- 0:54 Of all the usage of your gift all that I could impart
Kestrelwing comforts Birdflight as she watches SkyClan leave. Then, he leads her and her two kits (Spottedkit and Gorsekit) to the ThunderClan camp.
0:54-1:02 And how you learned young healer put rejoicing to my heart
Prickleface is sitting by the Moonstone. He looks troubled as he’s contacting the StarClan cats and asking for their help.
1:02-1:08 But there is yet one lessoning I cannot give to you
Ravenwing is by Mapleshade’s side as she gives birth to her kits. Mapleshade is visibly in enormous pain and Ravenwing tries to comfort her.
1:08- 1:15 For you must find your own way there judge what is sound and true
Ravenwing sees Mapleshade with her kits by the river. He confronts Mapleshade about it. He makes the decision to tell Oakstar about the kits’ father.
1:15-1:20 This lesson is the cruelest ever healer had to teach
Cloudberry is a RiverClan medicine cat. She’s taking care of pregnant Reedshine when Echosnout followed by a ThunderClan warrior, Doefeather, brings news of Ravenwing’s death. Doefeather looks at Cloudberry, expressing that ThunderClan needs her help.
1:22-1:30 It is which you must do and there are those you cannot reach
Cloudberry leaves RiverClan and is welcomed by ThunderClan. She’s a medicine cat under Doestar. Later, she carefully watches Goosekit acting odd and a thought crosses her mind. She approaches him and talks to him about becoming a medicine cat apprentice. He doesn’t seem too enthusiastic about it.
1:30-1:35 However creature gift there will be times when you will fail
Pearnose* is helping Goosepaw memorize herbs. She is strict and criticizes Goosepaw when he confuses the herbs.
1:35-1:42 There will be those you cannot help, your skill cannot prevail
Goosefeather is receiving visions of the future and is overwhelmed by them. He’s having a hard time and is upset about his gift and being a medicine cat. Cloudberry comforts him.
1:42-1:47 When you fight Death and loose to him of what might yet be worse
Doestar is dying and Cloudberry is staying beside her. When Doestar dies, Cloudberry is cleaning her body and tells Goosefeather to go with Pineheart to the Mothermouth. Goosefeather has a vision of future and sees Cloudberry’s lifeless body lying next to Doestar’s.
1:47-1:55 You went to find the wreak he left regards you with a curse
Pinestar’s receiving his leader’s lives. Goosefeather sees Pinestar becoming a kittypet in the future and his yet unborn son (Tigerstar) appears as a monster in Goosefeather’s vision.
1:55-2:01 The worst of all and harder still the times when its a friend
Goosefeather wrongly interprets the sign from StarClan which causes Moonflower’s death.
2:01-2:07 Who looks to you to bring him peace and make his torment end
ThunderClan doesn’t respect Goosefeather anymore and Featherwhisker is taking over his responsibilities. He comforts his mentor as he’s in a bad state and clearly loses his connection with reality.
2:07-2:14 What will you do young healer when there's nothing you can do
Pinestar leaves the clan and since Goosefeather is not fit to accompany Sunfall on his journey to the Moonstone, Featherwhisker goes with his brother and as they’re leaving the camp, he looks anxiously at Goosefeather left alone in the medicine cat den.
2:14-2:22 I can give only council for the rest is up to you
Goosefeather is dying in the elder’s den during the leaf-bare, Featherwhisker is staying beside him. Bluefur talks to Goosefeather and he reminds her that she must become a leader. He peacefully dies in Featherwhisker’s and Bluefur’s paws.
2:22-2:28 This only will I council you that if you build a shell
Featherwhisker is sitting alone near his mentor's grave. The dirt is freshly turned as he was buried recently, and his two feathers are planted on the tomb. Featherwhisker looks melancholic. « you build a shell » he raises his head and goes back towards the camp.
2:28-2:34 Of armor close about you then you close yourself in Hell
His brother, Sunstar, is waiting in front of the medicine cat's den. They greet each other smiling, and Featherwhisker enters the den.
2:34-2:40 And of your heart should harden then you gift will fade and die
Featherwhisker is going to the moonstone with Bluefur for her to get her nine lives. Try to add the previous medicine cats in the background when they are in starclan.
2:40-2:48 And all that you have lived and learned will then become a lie
Later, he is in the medicine den healing Thrushpelt alone. Spottedleaf enters the den and helps Featherwhisker. Spottedleaf isn't an apprentice, she is a full medicine cat .
2:48-2:54 As you must I have faces the fear the pain in dying eyes
Featherwhisker's death (greencough). He is smiling at Spottedleaf and is ready to get into Starclan, knowing it is his time and he will reunite with Sunstar and Goosefeather.
2:54-3:00 Sometimes I have told the truth and sometimes gentle lies
Bluestar and Spottedleaf are later talking together about the prophecy (fire alone). If the prophecy was used as one of Goosefeather’s visions, you can take reference from that part, see with the other animator.
3:00-3:07 As you will I have faces the times my skill brings no redress
Spottedleaf is with Frostfur in the medicine den. Frostfur is expecting kits, the she-cats are smiling and excited.
3:07-3:16 And wonder if my gift was truly meant to curse or bless
Spottedleaf's body is in the center of the camp and the clan is mourning. Frostfur reunites with her kits (kidnapped by Clawface). « to curse or bless » Cinderkit looks at Spottedleaf's body surprised, then looks at Yellowfang coming out of the medicine cats den, wondering if this will be the new medecine cat.
3:16-3:22 A child your healing hands are guided by your healing heart
Cinderpaw is trying hard to remember herbs, Yellowfang is watching over her and guiding her.
3:22-3:29 And that is all the wisdom all my learning can impart
Cinderpaw is bitter as she looks at her injured leg, but Yellowfang puts her paw on her back and comfort her, smiling.
3:29-3:35 You take this pain upon you as you challenge life unknown
Back to Cinderpelt and Leafpaw. Cinderpelt is singing. « you take this pain upon you » she shows Leafpaw her injured leg, no longer bitter but smiling instead. « as you challenge life unknown » she is talking about the old medicine cat’s stories, pointing at a simplified picture of Yellowfang on the ground, proud. Leafpaw is listening, amazed.
3:35-3:43 And there can be no answer here but one, and that's your own.
Cinderpelt is still singing, now with a more serious face, looking into Leafpaw's eyes. « and that's your own » She puts her paw on the apprentice's chest and smile again. Leafpaw's eyes lights up and she smiles back.
3:43-3:52
During the instrumental, Cinderpelt looks outside the den as Leafpaw goes back to classing herbs. The camera pans out, like going out of the den.

no but this made me SOB. there are genuine tears in my eyes and i'm all choked up. as soon as cinderpelt drew the picture of cloud spots and it went back in time i was a goner. this is so unbelievably beautiful - finally medicine cats are getting the love they deserve.
this is SUCH a good map, i love the way the vibe w the colour palette came out!! i'm so glad i got to be a part of it :D i hope it manages to raise a good bit of money for Centaurus!!

I know next to nothing about Warrior Cats (I mean, I know the series by name, and that it's about cats doing stuff. Fighting with each other, judging by the name of the series?) but I always get curious about what people do with the Mercedes Lackey songs I like when I look them up to listen to them and see new videos I haven't seen before, so I checked this out anyway. Admittedly I have none of the context of the fandom you've brought into this, but very nice animation work anyway, great job from you guys!
(If I do find it a little amusing what kinds of fandoms people pair all these Heralds of Valdemar related songs with, well, that's my own problem and no one else's)

Gosh, I didn't see this when it was first finished, but I'm so happy to have found it now. This song is beautiful, and each animator really brought this MAP to life. Even though I haven't read the first books in a while, I could recognize each character. I love everything about it, there aren't very many medicine cat MAPs out there but this is an absolutely wonderful one. Definitely one I'll have to rewatch at least another dozen times!!!

I like to imagine this happened when Cinderpelt got the vision of her own death, but that this vision actually happened before Leafpool met Crowfeather and she was trying to guide Leafpaw to make the right choice.
