My hubby is a bit more ADHDer. 😊 Before he leaves the house, I gladly do his 'leaving the house checklist' with him- glasses, cell, wallet, keys and list. Its my little way to help him because he does so much more for his disabled wife. ADHD is his super power, too!

I bet in reality, your daughter is 'MORE ADHD' than your hubby. As a 54 year old woman who was diagnosed at 49, I'm way more ADHD than my son who was diagnosed at 2 (and is now 22). Girls/women just hide it better to fit in. I learned so much about my ADHD as a woman and being so late in life diagnosed on Pinterest of all places! The alarm and notebook features have really helped me. Now I just need to remember to bring my phone!
Yesterday, I watched a funny RUclips video of a guy making fun of his wife's messy car, and there's a commenter saying the same thing about his wife and daughter. Men treat their cars well, right? My current job needs the deep dive a lot. I've just ordered your book, I'm 70 and only in last 4 or 5 years have I discovered it's been ADHD that's made my life, let's say, interesting. Just your description is what I've lived with. I was married to a guy for 46 years and I guess he absorbed some of it for me but I lost him to Dementia in 2020. I lived in a time when it wasn't even discussed. Anyway thank you so much! Luv you guys ❤
My brother and I are both diagnosed with ADD (back in the 80s before the “H” ). My 8 year old son just got diagnosed and my 5 year old is right behind him. I told my husband- god hello him - a household full of ADD people 😂 Love this video and the positivity it brings to people with ADHD. My young son is struggling with self-esteem because of his diagnosis and I love how you are creating positivity around this diagnosis. It truly doesn’t have to be a deficit.
My friends never could understand, why I almost never take a basket in the shop, preferring to carry a pile of good in my arms. I didn't have the answer to this question either. Now I do. Thanks, Penn!
I've come to realize that's its because I go in for "one thing" and then get distracted and impulse shopping takes over...sigh... I have to either be very focused or broke to only come out with what I went in for!! 😂😂
A Ream man does not need a cart for small items!! MAN UP! But, if I'm getting 3 months worth of TP or Paper towel, or 60 eggs or Soda or.. wait a minute.. I need two carts!!!

These have become coping mechanisms in my everyday life 😊 I do write lists just like you do. Wallet & keys live on top of my shoes! Or in a pile next to my shoes, with my backpack. If I have trip over them on the way out, I'm less likely to forget them! I like the magnet idea, though...
i have been living in organized chaos for a long time. i blame (first noticed it with) the legos. i had no isolated tray of legos. i had a bucket. but when i scanned through the spread out pile of plastic, i knew where it all was. same with the stuff all over my floor growing up. where is my x-men figurine? in the corner by yesterday’s socks and a cup. i could remember that. i’ve been a handyman for quite a while. i also do everything you can think of. weld, woodwork, tune/fix pianos, fix harmoniums, carpentry, plumbing, baking, recording. my projects are a lego bucket of things. sometimes the projects overlap. (like having k-nex, legos, and erector set parts in one space) my truck, garage, house, and room is a nightmare. in comparison, your van trunk was beautiful to me. i am 40 and just found out i have this. it all makes so much sense. i am an introvert that goes very very internal when bored, so i don’t present as fidgety as many…but let me talk for 10 min and you’ll pick up on some stuff. come to my garage and you’ll see an external diorama of my brain.
We loved this video. Taking those challenges in humorous stride is great. Went shopping with the “awesome” half and he went out carrying the few items. He went into the car but left an item on the roof. As I am standing there looking at him in the car I start laughing. He rolls the window down and I just said you are having an into the wild moment. He gets out of the car and looks at the roof, grabs the item laughing shaking his head.
Pen, I just finished your book ADHD Is Awesome, and I loved it. I read it from front to back, all of it lol. For anyone wondering, yes, its an absolute must, especially for fellow ADHDers. I found it in the local library. I just got diagnosed less than 2 months ago, and I just moved out of state. I love reading so I went to check the local library and BAM there it was. It looked interesting, and what a "coincidence" huh?!
This is so accurate. I usually make a list leave it in the kitchen counter at home. Lately i snap a picture if it on my phone, and then forget to look at it.
My meds (Concerta) only started working for me once I started Lithium (micro dosing). For some reason the combination made the mads work and I suffer way less side effects as well ... thought u might like to know ...
I got stuck with the generic concerta this month! I thought well, it’s something. (Shortages!!) I should have refused it at the pharmacy. So for another month,,,,, I’m left with CSTCWND, constant state of task confusion with no direction! (Alas, not a right turn in sight either.) UGH sorry Penn, I had to vent.
Love your channel, and this is one of my faves. I once ran all my errands with garden shears on the hood of my car near the windshield, and didnt notice until hours later when I saw sunlight beaming off the silver part of them. Definitely think I have ADHD, I cant walk 15 ft without a bunch of random thoughts. So this video was awesome, so relatable!
How did they get so much info to make a documentary on me. I feel attacked...or affirmed. Literally I deal with every last one of these things: - The going back inside 15 times and still forgetting something I had in the first place. - Going into a store and forgetting why I'm there. - The car. Every detail. - The distracting TVs. I hate most offices for this reason. Something is always playing on TV and I can't concentrate on anything.
And 2 months later, this video was the start of a realization that I have ADHD tendencies. Allows me to identify it, and start to cope with it/embrace it, rather than just hating who I see in the mirror every day. Thanks, Penn. Seriously, I hate this phrase, but you really are an inspiration.
OMG, so well done (as always). LITERALLY just ran my boyfriend’s cell phone through the wash the other day after he HANDED me his pants and I failed to do a proper pocket check. Luckily no panic to Verizon for a new cell phone (this time) - it was waterproof enough and came out at 33%!! Almost every one of these scenarios has happened - or something like it - and he’s even on medication!! Kim - we love them dearly, but the struggle is real. I feel so validated because people never believe me, lol ❤
The debate to grab a cart or push through when unexpected items are added is a frequent dilemma, especially when the carts are so far away, pretty sure that's why Ikea put cart stations throughout their store, they understand this dilemma and have prepared for it.
I love your ADHD videos. Thank you. I haven't seen them all but I was wondering if you have done one about the "fun" combination of having a person with anxiety trying to work with a person with adhd.
OMG, Penn, I can totally relate because I am borderline ADHD myself and always had to make physical lists for shopping, even if it was just for a few items and then, if I had other errands like you were trying to show, it was a whole big deal… It took me forever to take my wife suggestion and use the Notes app on my iPhone 😂 and has been already said above, that woman in the back at the end of the video totally did not know what the hell was going on and her face was priceless!! 😂
Oh my god, I'm so guilty of, "I'd rather keep moving, even if it takes longer." Oh, also, I saw someone with pickleball stickers on their car when I was out with my dad on Friday after I had surgery and apparently I was really funny about it because they had a DiNK LiFE sticker with pickleballs as the dots on the i's and a "real women stay out of the kitchen" sticker that I thought was uproariously funny.
Oh Maing! I would probably trend this way if I didn't develop skills to control it! I think I'm ADHD but on the OCD side of it! So I obsessively make lists! I have specific places for the wallet keys this sort of thing! Since I am so visual I run a film 🎥 of myself in my head of going to the store and the items I need ping with me as I visually go down each Aisle Then because of OCD I double check my list at the exact same spot in the store! I think what has really helped me is that I worked as Ground crew for the Airlines which is actually good for OCD because I had certain tasks that I had to do in a certain order every day every time! The only issue here is that sometimes I get so caught up in process that I push aside stuff that I like to do like sing and work on Vocal Training! Great video 📷! Oh and are you sure you didn't leave that stalk of Broccoli 🥦 in the Electronics Aisle at Costco? Just teasing!
Parking.. a ADHD will drive around for 14 minutes at Costco, looking for that Perfect Spot... and then waiting in the lane for a possible person to come out to the car to leave. I, semi-ADHD.. I just part far away and walk in...
Thank you! This may be why it takes me an hour to leave the house! I have to juggle kids, and a million things we all need, but i can't find a bunch of stuff. My car is now the diaper bag and my purse. It looks like it. It helps when you have a scatter brain personality. There are literally 3 diaper bags in the car, and a whole sleeve of diapers in the car, but not in any bags. And I was so bad in my younger years that i used to keep my wallet and my keys in my work shoes by the front door, so I didn't forget them on the way to work. During covid, my oldest daughter sat me down in front of a video about ADHD, and it absolutely explained my life. Im a gen xer. Most of us thought this was made up. Personally I might have cut myself a bit more slack if Ihad just understood what my problem was. I don't need a diagnosis. I don't need help. Im fine, but it is just a relief to know I'm not a complete mess because I am disorganized and so easily distracted.
That is WHY when I'm at COSTCO.. my wife text me the LIST.. a MAGIC LIST that describes all I need to get.. plus about $300 other other stuff that was on sale. I call Costco "the $200 club" only 3 times in 34 years I've bought less than $200 at a time.. hey, those Beef Jerky/keto mix/snack bars are a bargain at $18 a box!!! My all time record.. spent $78.. can you believe that!!! and no CART!!! (a Real man does not need a cart).
The at least he wasn't bored with the traffic light gets me so much XD I used to take a really long way home, specifically cause of less traffic lights and cars. As does the carrying way too much! Like, I know I could get a cart, but who got time for that?
I love that his handwriting looks so much like mine. Ironically I love to read and write/blog. This was a huge problem for me as a Gen Xer, but once computers were more available it leveled the playing field and I was able to graduate from community college with an associated degree in Elementary Education, and a certification in Early childhood. Spell check is my best friend!
Loved the trip through Costco. A better strategy is to go have the hotdog first. Go in the exit for hotdog. We all know you're gonna eat a hot dog. Go through the checkout lanes to the eggs. Miss the electronics. Have hot dogs before the eggs are out of the fridge. Pay for eggs and leave. BTW, Wegmans has a better price for eggs and milk?
Penn, my dream is to be shopping at the Wake Forest Costco (I live in Pinehurst, so it doesn't happen often!), and find you & Kim creating something! You guys look like you are having so much fun! Like the old Candid Camera.....loved the look on the faces of the people at the store!
"Shooping carts are for Lyoosahs." 🤣😂🤣 Nope, I've learned my lesson on that one. The only place I dont get a cart is Dollar Tree, because you have to have a quarter to get one.
Me working on laundry, seeing there is a new video so I stop sit on the couch and watch the whole thing before remembering that I was washing my clothes and now I don't have time to start the load .... Dang attention difficulties!!
The woman at the end is still trying to figure out what was going on 😆

i’ve been a handyman for quite a while. i also do everything you can think of. weld, woodwork, tune/fix pianos, fix harmoniums, carpentry, plumbing, baking, recording. my projects are a lego bucket of things. sometimes the projects overlap.
Beautiful take on Sir David Attenborough! Thank you for the nature feature! 😂😅
Please make another episode of ADHD in the Wild! This was so funny.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE ❤, y'alls approach on life, why not have fun and just run w it, whatever life throws at you!! ❤❤ 😂
😂LOVE how the eggs are on the bottom 😅
To be fair costco wants you to get completely distracted
Pen, I just finished your book ADHD Is Awesome, and I loved it. I read it from front to back, all of it lol. For anyone wondering, yes, its an absolute must, especially for fellow ADHDers. I found it in the local library. I just got diagnosed less than 2 months ago, and I just moved out of state. I love reading so I went to check the local library and BAM there it was. It looked interesting, and what a "coincidence" huh?!
This is so accurate. I usually make a list leave it in the kitchen counter at home. Lately i snap a picture if it on my phone, and then forget to look at it.
So nice to know I am not alone in the struggle. Fellow ADHDrs unite!! :)
This pops up as I'm struggling to get my ADHD medication, timely and awesome!
and you just reminded me to take mine!
My ADHD meds have been out of stock for 2 weeks!! I hate Walgreens and big pharma. My husband suggested finding some teenagers . . .
My meds (Concerta) only started working for me once I started Lithium (micro dosing). For some reason the combination made the mads work and I suffer way less side effects as well ... thought u might like to know ...
and steal their meds ??? 🤣 @@jennifermorris6848
The phone in the pantry was so real.
Or closet
or refrigerator. True story 😅
A wonderland of discovery 😂 that’s what I’m going to say about my messy car from now on.
The looks that Penn was getting while in Costco from people was classic
That was hysterical from start to finish in the outtakes. You are so talented.
He just made right turn on red when the sign said "no turn on red!"
This made me laugh. I was diagnosed with ADHD a few months ago at age 34. It was not surprising.
How did they get so much info to make a documentary on me. I feel attacked...or affirmed.
Literally I deal with every last one of these things:
- The going back inside 15 times and still forgetting something I had in the first place.
I live by lists. I don't check them off anymore. I need to see that line that goes all the way across the item. It is very satisfying.
Oh I love a list - that I only ever get half done 😂
You too?! 😮
Half? Well done 😅
@@JJ-dr7im 😂
The debate to grab a cart or push through when unexpected items are added is a frequent dilemma, especially when the carts are so far away, pretty sure that's why Ikea put cart stations throughout their store, they understand this dilemma and have prepared for it.
This was AMAZING!! More videos like this please!!😍 the documentary format was great!!!
I also have ADHD, but I am high functioning. Every video like this makes me feel glad that I am higher functioning than most people with my condition.
I love your ADHD videos. Thank you. I haven't seen them all but I was wondering if you have done one about the "fun" combination of having a person with anxiety trying to work with a person with adhd.
Love it. The narration is a great add. More of these!!
The lady's look at the very end cracked me up! 🤣🤣😆🤣
Dopamine hit of checking off the list. I so get that!!!
Oh my god, I'm so guilty of, "I'd rather keep moving, even if it takes longer."
Oh, also, I saw someone with pickleball stickers on their car when I was out with my dad on Friday after I had surgery and apparently I was really funny about it because they had a DiNK LiFE sticker with pickleballs as the dots on the i's and a "real women stay out of the kitchen" sticker that I thought was uproariously funny.
So me! I make lists and lose them before I can do anything😂
I kept laughing at that lady who kept looking at him in Costco. And why didn't you keep the dropping of the eggs in? That would have been hilarious!
This is so relatable. Especially taking a right so you don’t have to sit and wait at a red light 🤦🏻♀️
Probably one of my favorite videos ya’ll have done
This is far too relatable.
The Hazza! Killed me!
Boredom is the ADHDer's apex predator
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
That is WHY when I'm at COSTCO.. my wife text me the LIST.. a MAGIC LIST that describes all I need to get.. plus about $300 other other stuff that was on sale. I call Costco "the $200 club" only 3 times in 34 years I've bought less than $200 at a time.. hey, those Beef Jerky/keto mix/snack bars are a bargain at $18 a box!!! My all time record.. spent $78.. can you believe that!!! and no CART!!! (a Real man does not need a cart).
Phone in the pantry really got me. That's me.
"The wonderland of discovery."😂 Daily joy finds.😊 Too relatable.
1:10 is true cause I have ADHD and I get bored easily
Back in the day, RadioShack would have lured him in with its siren call
I would have sworn this was a documentary of my life as well. 😜 😂😂😂
Seriously, just described my life😂
You guys always brighten my day. Thank you
I was recently diagnosed with ADHD. This video is 100% me. My wife told me about it. Thank you for sharing your experiences with us.
My attention distraction isn't anywhere near as bad as this, but some days... woof
The NOT picking up a BASKET or TROLLEY and carrying things at the shops is SO TRUE! 😂😂😂
Penn, my dream is to be shopping at the Wake Forest Costco (I live in Pinehurst, so it doesn't happen often!), and find you & Kim creating something!
You guys look like you are having so much fun! Like the old Candid Camera.....loved the look on the faces of the people at the store!
Are you all stalking me or something? This is every single day of my life!
Thank you!! I needed this!!
The electronic aisle would be books for me. 😂
"Shooping carts are for Lyoosahs." 🤣😂🤣
Nope, I've learned my lesson on that one. The only place I dont get a cart is Dollar Tree, because you have to have a quarter to get one.
2:00 I don't think I've ever felt so called out in my life.
Me working on laundry, seeing there is a new video so I stop sit on the couch and watch the whole thing before remembering that I was washing my clothes and now I don't have time to start the load .... Dang attention difficulties!!
Gonna guess he lost that socket wrench again by the time he got home.
This is so me! I’m laughing because of how true this all is, and how accurate the wording is.
Oh yea, that's daily life for me too. Thank god for Apple Air tagging all my stuff.
Absolutely love this❤ Sitting here in chronic pain and really appreciated the laughs.....oooo a squirrel 😂
I’ve driven off w my coffee in top of the car so many times!!
Costco looked so busy. Must have been a lot of fun shooting this! 😅
My 9yo daughter loves your videos and follows every video you have!🙂❤️
This video just touched my soul. Thanks
😂 thanks, thumbs up, have a great day.
I love this! I have 2 kids with ADHD and this provided a great giggle!
