- Dune Prophecy Episode 5 “In Blood, Truth” Full Spoiler Review! THIS episode got me fully back on board. Not only am I finally endeared to the modern cast as much as I was the flashback members, but the drama and action both escalated beautifully! Love where the chess board sits now and can't wait until next week. But with one episode left, can it possibly wrap all of this up in a fulfilling way?

I love Denis Villeneuve’s world Dune, his two installments to date are amongst my favorite Sci-Fi of ALL TIME. Admittedly I don’t know Frank Herbert’s worlds of Dune, much less Brian Herbert’s (which this series I apparently based on.) So I’m going into this blissfully as a casual fan. Someone who adores the story in the medium of FILM who has ever intention of reading at least the original books - so you have some context where this review is coming from.
And I have to say, so far - so good. Overall. The world building and production design are next level. The casting and the acting are TOP NOTCH. But it’s not without its flaws, so far it has some pacing issues for me, and moments feel a bit clunky/clumsy at times. But all of that could EASILY fade as the story unfolds. I’m definitely in. What do you think of DUNE PROPHECY so far?

Dune: Prophecy is an American science fiction television series developed by Diane Ademu-John and Alison Schapker for HBO. Set in Frank Herbert's Dune universe, the series focuses on the origins of the Bene Gesserit, a powerful social, religious, and political force whose members possess superhuman powers and abilities by undergoing years of intense physical and mental conditioning. Dune: Prophecy is positioned as a prequel series to the 2021 Denis Villeneuve film Dune, which adapts the first half the 1965 novel of the same name by Frank Herbert, and takes place some 10,000 years before the events of the film. The series, which draws on, but is set after, the Great Schools of Dune novel trilogy (2012-2016) by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson, is produced by Legendary Television, with Schapker serving as showrunner, writer, and executive producer.
Finally Tabu makes her appearance and careful attack from her is playing out perfectly. I knew it Tula is the one that gave up her child Desmond Hart and she hasn't told her older sister Valya about it.
We knew the freemen was a sister since ep3 or 2; when she told Valya that Atretis was one of the insurgents
Great episode and the reveal at the end was the cherry on top! Excited to see how it ends next week!
I am wondering if Mikaela goes back to Arrakis and becomes the Freeman Reverand Mother
Dorotea will rise up next episode...popcorn ready
I hope
Yep, once Lila channels Doretea, all hell will break loose, lol!
I like the fremen sister heading back to dune, I see origins of the mission protectiva they has 10k years to get to Paul’s era
Coy, I'm with you. I haven't read the books, but consider this is exactly like the books in that it's a prequel written after what we know from much farther down the timeline, so they must reveal things about the universe without directly contradicting what we know happens later. Consider this: the old Mother is effectively back again through Lila, so maybe the sisterhood "split" so far has been a misdirect, and the real split will be between Valya and Tula, leaving Lila to pick up the pieces and the empire back in some kind of status quo. Also, Kevin J. Anderson, who wrote the prequels for/with Brian Herbert, used to be a Star Wars novelist, too.
Liked the episode, but don’t see how this show will end in a satisfying way seeing this is a limited series.
Tula did her son so dirty she could have placed him with her family at least
That is what I am thinking. But I bet it was because she was young, he was a boy and they were still acolytes. She wouldn't be allowed to keep him and Valya made her give him away, so they could stay in school together. I could see her being that selfish and using the voice on Tula, so she would forget about the child.
The trailer promo for episode 6 that just came out genuinely looks epic 🎉
Very much on the same page regarding the episode, including the performance of Chloe Lea as Lila. Hope next week’s episode builds on the pedestal of this week’s growth. The show needs a season 2 to feel complete.
Agreed, the final will have to be special, what a show, wow
And most important thing, it must be longer, like, Idk, 1:15, 1:20 - I don't think they will resolve anything in let's say 50+ minutes
I absolutely love the Bene Gesserit. Sister Mikaela was revealed in a prior episode when Valya met with her, when she arrived on Salusa Secundus. Loved this review. I’m sad that many people are not rating this show. Hope we get a second season.
Love from Belgium 🇧🇪 ❤
Unless the finale is epic, there will have to be a second season.
AMAZING episode !
Can’t wait for the finale 🔥
I don’t watch Dune Prophecy but here to drop a like to support Coy with that pesky RUclips algorithm 👍
:) thanks so much!
Finale gonna be on Arrakis?
I know you haven't read the books, but blue in blues are not a Freman thing it just spice saturation in the body, spice is in everything on Arrakis. Remember their is no magic or the force in the Dune universe its all science, ( fictional science) but never mystic . So keep that in mind.
Great note! Thank you!
@@CoyJandreau oh one more note , in the dune universe it's not seeing the future, think about the matrix or the Terminator franchise, it's being able to see all possible out comes of human decision that's called "prescience" The agony is unlocking genetic memories but the sisterhood can only see the maternal genetic memories, what makes Paul different and more powerful in the movies and books is he unlocked his paternal and maternal genetic memories.
why sisters having simultanous visions lol
@Cortesevasive they explained that in the episode, all those sisters were infected with a retro virus, in the dune universe genetic memory is a real thing and be encoded into any organic life . The virus has memory encoded in it to cause fear, and the virus uses the brain chemicals that make fear as a trigger.
@@joegarza4869 well yeah if you frame it that way it sounds ok.
Kinda didnt liked that the young acolyte remembered memories from her mother when she was kílled, I mean shouldnt she remember only the things before her birth lol.
Is this episode everyone is feeling betrayed, there will be no more trust
Do you think the retrovirus is now in the AI?
coy have you seen the superman poster!?
Did you pick up on who Desmond’s mother was?
biggie shakur 😹😹😹😹
Do we know the length of the final episode?
Nice twist
Like the video dammit!
