I'm an INFJ, my internal dialogue is perfect but my external communication is something I have to consciously work on everyday. Spot on video for me... Thank you 🙏

I’m an infj too! I feel like I’m shy but I’ve practiced at a young age to push through the anxiety and just make it a point to talk to people. My background in counseling really helped as well with communication. You can do it!

I'm an ex-trainer and INFJ. I stumbled across this channel because I'm looking for an online library of exercises with a focus on anatomy (think, the old bodybuilding books or yoga references) for personal program design. This is valuable info.
To the INFJs out there know you will probably be the most beloved trainers. Why? We are natural nerds who understand patterns. That will help with program design. We are empathetic and can anticipate our clients needs or suss out the real obstacles amounting to better faster results.
That said, SE is our inferior function.
I had to learn just because I am good at most things doesn't mean I have to make a career of it.
This profession WILL cause you to rely too heavily on SE. Keep that in mind and enjoy the journey.

There are multiple aspects to being likable. Of course trust is first. And then one of the other variables is life experience. Are you interesting? Do you have anything to talk about? Do you have informed opinions, successes, failures, and stories?

Awesome conversation. I'd say likeability is very correlated to being relaxed around people and in your position.

Being interested in what someone is saying. I agree. Just yesterday I saw a trainer with a possible client, and just looking elsewhere. I was thinking not good.

Even with like ability some people just might not be a good fit with us, that is okay, there are more of us, and more of them. Better to guide them elsewhere than to try and force a fit.

    Better question…..
If you were a single mom of a newborn, what would you do to become the most successful PT you could possibly be? What would you focus the most on and how would you excel at it?
    Thank you!

No that's not a better question... It does t matter. Your clients don't care. So do what everyone else is, just be better at it

Don't pay attention to these inexperienced bros that commented on your post. They wouldn't understand the badassery 😊
I'm a single mom of 3, one having special needs. It's why I switched careers and became a CPT. I can control my schedule, work for a family focused gym, and take care of myself while I work. YMCA and gyms like that have a ton of family resources to get involved in and build community with.
I would say that being a single parent is one of the hardest paths. It takes more courage, strength, dedication, and hard work than many could fathom. You are the protector, provider, nurturer, safety, and sole decision maker in the household... and so much more. Its a lot to manage. But thats where the badassery comes in.
We become the strongest if we take the cards we have, and create the life we and our children deserve, regardless of the circumstances. I would say, use as many resources as you can to get on your feet. Take care of yourself first, build community, and use all that you've been through and continue to go through as fuel for your fire. I've never seen a woman so DAMN full of WARRIOR energy than one who is a single Mom with her priorities in line, and her game face on.
Share your story with others. They will be inspired by you. You have a voice, and a purpose. God chose you for this path because he knew you could handle it, and reach a hand out for the next woman.
Best of luck with everything. You got this.

Do you have to become a morning person to be a Personal Trainer? I keep hearing and reading that most people tend to work out in the early morning (between 5-8am) but I’m a night owl and I don’t get tired until at least 1 or 2am usually. I’ve never been a morning person. One of the reasons I was considering personal training is because I enjoy helping people and being healthy. I also consider myself a strong person for my age despite the condition of my back. I would hope that there is enough income potential to make as a living for self-employment in this field, but I hear that there really isn’t a lot of money in personal training. I’m not really a fan of hearing people’s problems all of the time because so much of it would drive me crazy (just like anyone else) as much of a people person as I am. Will any of this set me back from becoming a CPT?

      Hey Joey,
I’m a personal Trainer in Boston. Although I’ve become a morning person as most of my clients workout earlier, it’s not a necessity. One of the benefits of this field is you can create your own schedule. So by all means, take on all the evening clients you can get. However, when starting out, take what you can get in terms of clients, no matter who they are or what time they want, that way you can make some $. When you become full time, then you can start denying peoples early time requests. There is 100% a lot of money to be made in this field, but it mainly comes from self employment and charging your own rates. Hope this helped!

@@alexdevre7935 Thank you! Can I dodge a bullet by just starting out full time (if I like it) only take late morning to evening clients?

I mean, you still have to do business with clients work in what they have to do. At the end of the day, it’s not like they are your best friend. Would your rather best their best friend or do something that they get results they need. They just want your services. Period.

I would agree but you can argue the opposite in almost any case. Adult life is hard. If you grew up being likable thats great. But theres going to be more people that dislike you then like you.

    • @jonnuanez7183
      @jonnuanez7183 2 года назад +1

Why would you say that? Why focus on life being difficult and whether people dislike you? If more ppl dislike a person, there isn't a job in the world that they will be successful at.

So I guess those trainers who were eating potato chips and mcdonalds in front of clients were pretty likeable? You can be likeable and set a SHIT example for your clients and not have the ABILITY TO COACH (Which is the REAL important factor of being a trainer) and succeed in this industry according to these guys. Sad. :_(
