So, 4 out of the 5 damage it is dealing to itself is actually to temporary stats, and it takes 1 damage to its health permanently. It’s not bugged. There are other pet mechanics that work the same way. In fact, you can do the same thing with temporary buffing foods like the cookie or cupcake.
I'm just impressed he noticed, I was on the edge of my seat hoping he will notice but knowing it in my heart he won't because he is NL God bless he took notice it 4 rounds in
Also side note for anyone who reads this, I dont think NL noticed however the manatee needs to have less attack than the chick and never lvl the chick. You can lvl the manatee only if you buff the hatching chick more.

It being easier to overpepper a food than oversalt it seems like an insane take, it takes me like 10 years to get a single pepper flake out of a shaker while salt pours out like water without any cohesion
Something kinda of important is that the moose doesn't unfreeze when there are no tier 1s in the shop. Meaning if you don't mind wasting a gold or two, you can freeze what you want and simply end turn, as long as there are no tier 1s left

And again at 20:45, the attack of the manatee is higher then the chick so it goes first. This causes the temporary health to not be overwritten with a permanent value set by it damaging itself.
It's not bugged, the temporary 4 health just gets removed by the 5 damage. Once the temp buff is gone the health indicator returns to regular/permanent because there's no temp left. The manatee was still taking 1 damage per round when the hatching chick was going first

bro i had a power outage and went to play this video right after, noticed no sound and saw it changed my output from tv to my headphones. NO biggie. proceed to think the power outage broke my fuckin tv somehow for 28 seconds.
I troubleshooted my computer for like 15 Minutes because I couldn't figure out why your video was the only thing where sound wouldn't work. As if I didn't know for a fact that NL can and will have mishaps on the regular.
