GOODBYE KIRKGATE MARKET Jim Jarratt 2023

Goodbye Kirkgate Market.... This video has been a long journey in the making! I wrote the song in 1973, publishing it two years later in my 'View From Wibsey Slack' song anthology. It was performed on the local folk circuit for many years, before I finally got round to recording it in 2013, as part of a CD called 'Squashed Hedgehogs in the Road'. The sudden relevance (and irony) of the current plan to demolish the present Market prompted a complete remix of the song and the making of this music video. The ghost (or was it Lady Fairfax), at Bolling Hall got it right long ago....'Pity Poor Bradford!.........! Jim Jarratt October 2023.

l can see that a huge amount of work has gone into the making of this video. It is of course up to your usual very high standard too. You are such a talented and creative individual Jim, who can effortlessly turn his artistic hand to so many different things! Very well done.
