I live in Istanbul, Turkey and this is my everyday song, can't get enough of it. The more I listen, the more it grows on me.
I have a very old memory related to this song. It was my childhood, I must be 8-9 years old and I used to live in Lahore, Pakistan at that time, I remember one of my most favorite uncle Faheem , he entered our home on his motorcycle , it was raining, the courtyard was wet and he was singing this song in such a happy mood (perhaps he returned from some date). I didn't listen to this song for a very long time but that memory stayed with me and then few years back I discovered this song. Hai apna dil too aawara.

Hemanta Kumar Mukherjee or known as Hemant Kumar, his voice itself was like a symphony played on piano. If his songs are listened attentively, it would be noticed that there had been no discontinuity in his voice. As melodious as when a harmonic symphony is being played on piano along with no discontinuity but astonishingly simple coherence made almost all of his song masterpiece.

This is another gem of a song from Hemant kumar Mukhopadhyay in his inimitable baritone and the heart touching uncomplicated singing style. There is one more historic event tied up with this milestone song. The beautiful rendition of mouth organ, accompanying the song, was played by a twelve year young boy. The young boy later grew up to become the legendary music director R.D.Burman.
