Shame this doesn’t look dark at all , this was their chance to do a dark goosebumps show - coulda been like scary stories to tell in the dark , as the books are pretty dark lol , but they just went cheesy and stupid , which was what the movie was so why do it again ??
This looks darker than the movies did. Also, if it's too dark, it won't be accepted by everyone. Especially since it's supposed to be a spooky kids show. But in that same light, it won't be accepted if it's too cheesy either.
I agree with you, this was amazing. People complain because the original was better, and how each episode should be it’s own thing. The original worked because it was a show that aired on actual television, meaning you can watch any episode anytime on your tv. This wasn’t made for that. It’s original to Disney+ and hulu. The reason it all connects is because they wanted to go in a different route for these books and the show itself, without it being fully removed of course, for it’s kind of confusing for our generation if each episode introduces a new character. While yes, they could have pulled a black mirror, each episode be a hour long, long enough to introduce the new characters each episode, that is not in the budget at all i bet, which is why it’s a…actual show. (Goosebumps does not have to be super different each episode is what I’m saying) Well…where the hell am i going with this? I don’t know, i may sound stupid (and that i mean i do,) but what i am saying is not every version of goosebumps have to be about one book only (WHICH, ONE EPISODE WAS ABOUT ONE BOOK ANYWAYS, EPISODE 1 IS CAMERA, EPISODE 2 IS MASK, AND SO ON) and not mix them all into one. yes they been a bit creative with it, but at least they kept the elements from the original. While yes, i never watched the actual goosebumps. hate me all you want. I feel like this is really good. I mean i didn’t see people complain about, for example, the sonic the hedgehog movie being almost nothing like the games. not everything have to be EXACTLY the original. Also this was kind of anthology, each episode is a different horror, but connects onto a bigger story. Why did i write a whole poem. Nobody reading this. I am just tired of people complaining about this show is all. edit: turns out people like the original goosebumps because they like to be introduced to the characters each episode, and i guess later on, they kind of…stop showing the books tbh. I mean, i don’t know if the last episodes connected to any books to be honest. My mistake, i am a idiot. I STILL ENJOY THE SHOW THO. but it’s your opinion really, don’t let this rant mean you can’t hate this show. I am just tired of people saying “i thought it’ll be the original.” But let’s be honest, even if this was a remake of the original, people would call this lazy. Edit 2: just wanted to put this here, i do not think the show is “perfect”. Of course the original could be better then this for all i know, but i know there are ways to watch the original goosebumps show. If you want the original, watch that. If you don’t like this version, that’s fine. It’s a okay show, but i enjoyed the episodes, characters and “monsters” (i guess the mask?) enough.
I just finished season 1 and the ending is very unexpected and sad, I cried. For me, this show started off just alright/meh but I’m glad I gave it a chance and kept watching because it gets so much better. I think ending of episode 2/episode 3 all the way to the last episode are very good. Episode 1 and half of episode 2 were too slow for me. So anyone that also thinks it starts off slow, trust me keep watching. What a great show. And I even grew up with the original Goosebumps, it’s my childhood, and I ended up loving this!
@@likestxrscreama Riverdale take on anything would be bad, we all know how batshit insane that show got and it turned into a show people only watched to see how bad it could get.
While it's different this is going to be a serialized series instead of the anthology series we're used to, I'm looking forward to this show coming back. I've been amped since I saw the announcement for it over a year ago, and for all we know, it's going to be great! I like the references to all the books in the trailer (Cookoo Clock of Doom, Say Cheese and Die!, The Haunted Mask, and Night of the Living Dummy), plus if they're trying to modernize it, the song for the trailer might be different than the song for the show. They might bring the original one back but with a new twist. Kinda like the season Ultimate Goosebumps did. And, I heard that this show features the protagonists from the previous seasons, which could be like a passing-of-the-torch-type thing to the next generation. I don't know if it's just a rumor, but I hope it's not. So, I'm gonna give this show a chance like I did years ago. Not only for nostalgia, but also because I believe R.L. Stine can still write good horror.
@@DullydoesYes. Fun fact Stranger Things was supposed to be an anthology series, hence the name. Every season things would get stranger. But the first story(the Hawkins story we know and love now) became so popular that they made more seasons.
I hope they include some kind of nod to the Mud Monsters from 'You Can't Scare Me!' They get my vote for being among the only Goosebumps monsters/ villains that were actually scary.
@@Adamguy2003well you may be in luck, since episode 8 is titled “You Can’t Scare Me”. I’m not sure if it will actually tie into the book for not, but it’s very possible.
I really loved the 90s version, and I find this version really enjoyable too! I can't wait for more, just sucks people already hate the show without even watching it. Feels like on of the better Disney projects to come out lately.
It took a year to get to it but I finally watched the series. I will say, it is a perfectly fine show, it is well made and has a good story, and the way the “monsters” blend together is good. However, I still just want a show where each episode is based on one book. We can finally see the stories we wanted in the 90s show that weren’t made, and they can upgrade the ones we already had to make them more accurate to the books, primarily the blob that ate everyone. Sadly, if they do decide to do that it won’t be for another decade, but overall I like the show and I hope those younger ones get interested in the books and the old tv series. This is assuming anyone remembers this exists.
First five episodes and I’d say it’s pretty interesting! Let’s just remember we haven’t seen close to everything yet. I’m pretty sure when Slappy comes in the pacing of the show is going to accelerate
As someone who watched the old series and read the books. Disney put their own clever spin on it and R.L. Stein having a hand on the series definitely pushed it to where it needed to be and it turned out amazing for being on Disney+
No it didn't. This is nothing like the books. The spin you're referring to is a woke spin to cater to some "modern audience". the problem with this modern audience is that they don't care about good story telling or good characters, all they care about is checking off some boxes on whether a show or movie or video game is diverse enough. The more checkboxes, the "better" the show is, regardless of quality.
I dunno why, but I'm also getting Perfect School vibes, Earth Geeks Must Go vibes, I THINK My Evil Twin, a bit of Deep Trouble, The Headless Ghost, Welcome To Dead House.
From the creators of "Having White Rabbit play in a trailer for Alice Through the Looking Glass" and "Having bad guy by Billie Eilish play in a trailer for The Bad Guys," its having Goosebumps by Travis Scott play in a trailer for Goosebumps.
I’m glad that they’re doing everything how THEY want it if they made it an anthology everyone would probably be like “wow they’re not original at all just making the old show from my childhood just with modern culture involved , they should’ve done their own thing, leave my childhood alone!” I honestly like this show and surprisingly my family loves it after being skeptical and yes they watched the old show .
Whereas creating an original show that isn’t strong enough to survive on its own therefore peppering it with a hint of nostalgia and using an established brand just to get views is cool
Here me out, but I have the best goosebumps pitch. So we basically do What’s New Scooby doo, where we basically just do the same thing we did the first time. Want something a little different, why not make it R-rated. I’m sure a large majority of goosebumps fans are adults who grew up with the original books and show. Maybe we could finally get Night of the Living Dummy.

This show is actually awesome. Justin Long is perfect and the soundtrack slaps
Agreed
I like how it's all connected and a part of a mystery, already went through the first five and cannot wait for Slappy
Shame this doesn’t look dark at all , this was their chance to do a dark goosebumps show - coulda been like scary stories to tell in the dark , as the books are pretty dark lol , but they just went cheesy and stupid , which was what the movie was so why do it again ??
It's rated TV-14
@@cordcuttercamno its rated TVPG
While messed up stuff has happened in the books goosebumps has always been silly and for kids so this makes sense
It’s still supposed to be for kids. My 6 year old watches. She’s yet to be scared.
This looks darker than the movies did.
Also, if it's too dark, it won't be accepted by everyone. Especially since it's supposed to be a spooky kids show. But in that same light, it won't be accepted if it's too cheesy either.
People are complaining about it not being an anthology series, but I'm not. I can't wait for this.
Same! And let’s be honest here, even if they had decided to make it an anthology, people would still complain. 😂
So, did it live up to your expectations?
This goosebumps show is gonna be a seasonal anthology then episodic.
(Goosebumps does not have to be super different each episode is what I’m saying)
Well…where the hell am i going with this?
It is still a anthology. Just a main plot of sorts. It even says anthology horror on Disney. I started watching it. Not bad.
Man... this is my childhood novels
I honestly like that they’re revamping it.
Was hoping this would be an anthology series like the original TV show, but as long as we get Slappy then I'm all for it.
I watched the season and it’s actually really good. It’s not like the older version but it’s still great. Recommend
Its cool they presenting goosebumps to the new generation. We had the best shows back in the day
I just finished season 1 and the ending is very unexpected and sad, I cried.
Barely one episode in the vanishing and I gotta say this one was already so much better
Can’t really judge by barely watching an episode but ok
@AJ71373 I'm comparing episode one of both to eachother
A more mature riverdale/ 13 reasons why/ euphoria take on the series
Well said. And that’s exactly why I won’t be watching it lol
nahhh this looks way more silly/less weight than those shows. tbh a heavy/adult take would be refreshing but this just looks meh
A more mature version of 13 reasons why? 🤣🤣
@@likestxrscreama Riverdale take on anything would be bad, we all know how batshit insane that show got and it turned into a show people only watched to see how bad it could get.
Wrong that was Haunting Hour
Does anthology mean like each episode is different? like the books and blackmirror?
@@DullydoesYes. Fun fact Stranger Things was supposed to be an anthology series, hence the name. Every season things would get stranger. But the first story(the Hawkins story we know and love now) became so popular that they made more seasons.
I hope they include some kind of nod to the Mud Monsters from 'You Can't Scare Me!'
They get my vote for being among the only Goosebumps monsters/ villains that were actually scary.
@@Adamguy2003well you may be in luck, since episode 8 is titled “You Can’t Scare Me”. I’m not sure if it will actually tie into the book for not, but it’s very possible.
@@darkridergames1707 Yay!
The series I'm looking forward to most this Fall
Anyone else glad we're getting an original RL Stine story instead of a remake?
Hopefully they use the OG Theme
I GET THOSE GOOSEBUMPS EVERY TIME ‼️‼️‼️🗣️🗣️🗣️
Ong
No
Rap crap
I really loved the 90s version, and I find this version really enjoyable too! I can't wait for more, just sucks people already hate the show without even watching it. Feels like on of the better Disney projects to come out lately.
I Agree! Theres soo much more to this show than people think.
Seriously was waiting for the old Goosebumps tv show theme to play
WE GETTING RID OF THOSE GOOSEBUMPS WITH THIS ONE🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
TRAVIS ON THE TRAILER MAKE IT GO CRAZY🔥🔥🔥
Finally watched the first 5 episodes, and I love it SO MUCH!! Can't wait for the next episodes !! 🖤🖤
You know this is going to be sh7t the moment that song started playing hahahahaha
It was good
It was good I mean it’s just a song that involves the name goosebumps and a lot of people actually enjoy that song.
First five episodes and I’d say it’s pretty interesting! Let’s just remember we haven’t seen close to everything yet. I’m pretty sure when Slappy comes in the pacing of the show is going to accelerate
Used to disappear into the worlds of Goosebumps and Animorphs while in elementary so definitely looking forward to this
I hope this show isn’t disappointing…
Started dying laughing when that started
As someone who watched the old series and read the books. Disney put their own clever spin on it and R.L. Stein having a hand on the series definitely pushed it to where it needed to be and it turned out amazing for being on Disney+
No it didn't. This is nothing like the books. The spin you're referring to is a woke spin to cater to some "modern audience". the problem with this modern audience is that they don't care about good story telling or good characters, all they care about is checking off some boxes on whether a show or movie or video game is diverse enough. The more checkboxes, the "better" the show is, regardless of quality.
Say cheese and die, cuckoo clock of doom, slappy, haunted mask, any that i missed?
I dunno why, but I'm also getting Perfect School vibes, Earth Geeks Must Go vibes, I THINK My Evil Twin, a bit of Deep Trouble, The Headless Ghost, Welcome To Dead House.
Go eat worms, welcome to horrorland, vampire podle,
I hope they’ll add the original Goosebumps series on Disney+ someday
They prolly will soon
It’s on Netflix I think
@@flanagamer he probably meant all the seasons
@@Punishteen707Wait…but Netflix does have all the Goosebumps series?
From the creators of "Having White Rabbit play in a trailer for Alice Through the Looking Glass" and "Having bad guy by Billie Eilish play in a trailer for The Bad Guys," its having Goosebumps by Travis Scott play in a trailer for Goosebumps.
I GET THOSE GOOSEBUMPS EVERY TIME U COME AROUND
0:56 If you listen closely, you can hear those familiar notes from the original Goosebumps TV show intro.
Maybe this will have Monster Blood and be the first Goosebumps series to have book-accurate Monster Blood 🤣
I get these goosebumps everytime,
Everytime yeah,
when ghost comes around yeah..
Nice to see Keegans looking well.
POV: you grew up watching Justin Long as the student...now he is the teacher
We love reading these books and will enjoy this new Goosebumps series.
Usually remakes are terrible but this one looks good, looking forward to it
definitely not what i was expecting but i'm still very intrigued
I’m glad that they’re doing everything how THEY want it if they made it an anthology everyone would probably be like “wow they’re not original at all just making the old show from my childhood just with modern culture involved , they should’ve done their own thing, leave my childhood alone!” I honestly like this show and surprisingly my family loves it after being skeptical and yes they watched the old show .
Whereas creating an original show that isn’t strong enough to survive on its own therefore peppering it with a hint of nostalgia and using an established brand just to get views is cool
They're not happy with anything, fr
I was to quick to judge I’m actually really invested in this show it’s actually good and entertaining
That part where Travis is humming in the background actually fits so well with the trailer
Finally I can be excited for more goosebumps, a also really wished the 3rd movie happened since they left it on a cliffhanger like, but hey I got this so yay
Dont even know how many references i missed in thiss but seems pretty amazing
I don’t know, this looks pretty fun. As a long time fan of Goosebumps, I’m excited to see the direction this chooses to go
me too
After 5 years it's finally back
I dont care what people say about the travis scott "goosebumps" song in the trailer, for me it really made me more excited for the series and got hyped, i got big hopes for this show
FR it got me excited for it
Exactly
Their choice of music is great also in season 2
I like the series but I wish I can see the original one in the 90s
Goosebumps uses Goosebumps song…
Get it?
Why is nobody talking about the song choice💀💀💀
fr☠️
Still make a goosebumps 3 please 🙏
1:39 SLAPPY! Night of the Living Dummy is my favorite Goosebumps book. I'm glad Slappy is looking creepy. However, nothing beats ginger Slappy. He's super creepy. Hopefully the voice actor behind him does an amazing job.
WE GETTING GOOSEBUMPS EVERY TIME🗣️🔥‼️‼️
I wonder how R.L. Stine feels about this series? He was impressed with the direction the Fear Street movie trilogy took when Netflix released the movies.
This was a very good show. I liked it better than the Jack Black movie, and it was better than the original series....in my opinion.
The original Goosebumps show is bland, the movies are awesome.
@@ariellewilson730The movies were bad.
Original Series > New Series > Movies
My 3 honest opinions about this are
1 goddame Disney 💀
2 not sure how a feel about the trailer music not sure why they chose that but ig it works
And 3 why did they make the mask just a all white face😭
Honestly I wish we could’ve gotten like another movie or something preferably with Jack Black cuz the 1st goosebumps movie was actually pretty fun to watch mainly cuz I like the giant mantis 😂
They need to add the OG theme
JUSTIN LONG???? Oh hell yeah 😎😎😎
That's what I said
I was so shocked to see this actually happening I mean yes they used to stream goosebumps on live TV a long time ago but now Netflix has it but they removed like 4 seasons but now it’s back
This will never be as good as the original series, I really wish this was a anthology series 😢
I just want to say to everyone don’t get your hopes up too high, just because they are making goosebumps back into a tv series doesn’t mean it going to be good just saying alot of stuff from Disney has not been hittin sense no way home but the song choice was
Well, technically it’s Sony making it. Disney’s just distributing it, but you have a point. I’m not gonna get my hopes up, but I’m gonna watch it anyway when it comes out.
It’s just a show with references to goosebumps
