I stopped using leather, I have an all season textile jacket and pants all waterproof and have vented zipper spots as well as an in built water bladder in the back. Use a set of all-Tech bushwalking boots. Sleep in motels not camping reduces the amount of things you need to carry and you can generally wash your clothes dry out your gear as well. Service bike before you go and change your tires if you need to I run 50/50 adventure tyres. They can wear out sometimes quicker than you think.
