    Yesterday I was trying to figure out what shade I would be in the Gressa Minimalist Corrective Serum Foundation and came across your channel. You would probably be freaked out to know how many of your videos I've marathoned in the past 24 hours. I love your taste in makeup. I'm not a green beauty blogger, but I am interested in natural products and lesser-known brands. Anyway, I'll end this comment, but I'm thrilled to have stumbled on your channel. - Ashley

      Haha OMG I feel like a celeb just left me a comment. GIRL I've been watching your videos for like the last year! Like all of them, I never miss one. You're one of my go-tos! I love that you feature Josie Maran products a lot, and I love YOUR taste as well! Totally flattered you're enjoying my videos...seriously, this is just kind of surreal. For what it's worth, I bet you're shade #1 in the Gressa? I'm sure you'll love it, it's gotten nothing but raves across the board. xoxo look forward to connecting over our videos!

    You've convinced me to get an electric toothbrush again; I used one years ago but it broke and I never got round to replacing it...I recall it making my teeth feel Super clean, and loved it. Though I'm attentive to dental health, I had never heard of "self-dentistry" before...love the concept because I do not enjoy going to the dentist...will definitely research this. Thanks for the recommendations, as always :)

    • @lamouretlamusique
      @lamouretlamusique  9 лет назад

      Yes, "self-dentistry" was new to me as well, as was this whole world of "renegade health" where people eschew mainstream medical care. I mean I'm ALL for public health efforts and I'm so freaking glad we have access to excellent medical care (those of us who can afford it, anyway) I think there's so much to be said for being your own advocate and doing lots of preventive work. Definitely invest in a Sonicare

    I just checked my Jason's powersmile; it does have glycerin unfortunately. I'll have to do some more research and check out the living libations line. Great video- there aren't many on this topic for some reason.

    • @lamouretlamusique
      @lamouretlamusique  9 лет назад +1

      Yes, someone commented below that most toothpastes - conventional and "green" - do contain glycerin. Apparently Earthpaste does not, and neither does the Living Libations one. I know, I wish more people talked about holistic dental care! Thanks for watching and commenting, xo.

      Hi beautiful thanks for your comment! So you like the Living Libations shampoo and conditioner? It's been next on my list but then I read somewhere that it's potentially a bit drying? Have you found that to be the case? xoxo.

    I can't believe you've never had a cavity! That's amazing. I'm lucky in the sense that I've never had "silver" fillings, because my childhood dentist thought it was ugly to put them in girls' mouths. I go to a holistic dentist now and it's really cool because while I've yet to need any fillings, I know that they'll only put the best in my teeth! I'm terrible at using mouthwash, but when I do I use plain hydrogen peroxide.

    • @lamouretlamusique
      @lamouretlamusique  9 лет назад

      I'm glad holistic dentists are now a "thing" and if I ever need anything beyond cleanings that's definitely where I'll go, and take my future children! I wasn't aware one could use hydrogen peroxide as a mouthwash? Interesting, and cost effective! Thanks for watching and commenting love

    • @laurasnaturallife
      @laurasnaturallife 9 лет назад +1

      Agreed! I hope to never actually have to need their special services, but they also do an amazing cleaning so I keep going. They also take my insurance, so why not. My doctor actually told me to use the hydrogen peroxide! It's not the best tasting, but not bad.

    Shout out to you for mentioning the Holistic Science Co!!! I discovered them at the Little Italy's farmers' market (San Diego). I love their Tamanu Kukui body butter!! I have used Tamanu oil as an acne treatment. And I bring Kukui everything-I-can-get from Hawaii when we go on vacation. So this was an awesome find, but I'll def try their toothpaste now!! (Thanks)
    I do oil pulling and it's simply amazing! However, I always always always use a drop or two of either peppermint or onguard DoTerra essential oils. The peppermint does it all and then some for my mouth health, and the onguard I do when I'm coming down with any kind of illness (it can stop sore throats and colds for me).

    • @lamouretlamusique
      @lamouretlamusique  9 лет назад

      Amazing comment, I'm going to try adding peppermint EO to my oil pulling now (trying to get back in the habit at least a few times a week). I want EVERYTHING from Holistic Science Co., when I saw their website for the first time I was like LE ULTIMATE SWOON! I'll keep the Tamanu Kukui body butter in mind for when I place an order. Let me know if you discover any other amazing products from the line

    I was the one requesting this video, so I did a little happy dance when I saw it in my feed :) Girl, you've never had a cavity? Lucky you!!! If I started to list the things I was made to do my comment would be a mile long, plus it was painful and uncomfortable, so let's skip it.. I also unknowingly gave my daughter flourosis, because in Ireland they put flouride in water, and I didn't know that until it was too late, and i hate myself for it.. since then we all are flouride free with our toothpastes, and once we will get our own house (please God) the full water filtration system is on my to-do list.. Your routine is great, I knew about all the products you mentioned here, but I've never purchased them (Living Libations and clay thingy) because of the high price point, but maybe I should, my mom has periodontal disease, and I don't want to go there! At the mo I am using neem toothpaste and my own mix of essential oils aka.. Living Libations inspired gum drops, and oil pulling helps me to ward off teeth sensitivity, so i would recomment it, I can really feel it if I skip a few days..

    • @lamouretlamusique
      @lamouretlamusique  9 лет назад

      Yes, credit to YOU for the idea! I thought it was a great one, I think dental care is essential. I think you should definitely treat yourself to some LL or Oralive, I consider it like preventive medicine in addition to daily dental care. You may have convinced me to give oil pulling another go...I just find it so inconvenient and annoying : / Anyway, don't beat yourself up about your daughter...we all do the best we can with the information we have! Like I was vaccinated and had all mainstream medical treatments and everything growing up in the 80s and 90s and while it's probably not ideal, there's a lot we can work on now, and we're always learning! xo to you

      Ah, stop it, I am not looking for credits or shoutouts... Yes I totally see what you are saying about oil pulling, and I was drifting away from it too, but now seeing this change in the sensitivity levels I am back to it with a force :) Also I make sure to do it when DH (darling hubby) isn't around, he looks weirdly at it, haha..

    And let me go floss and brush my teeth... : ) thanks for this video. I feel like dental care is not a place a lot of people talk about when trying to use green products. I use the same tooth brush and love it, but will now have to check out some of these products. I still annoyingly have a metal bar retainer on the back of my bottom teeth, which I'm told I'll have forever (I'm almost 30 and still have a retainer lol) so the floss sounds like something that would really help with flossing behind that. And since I'm not a huge fan of oil pulling, that clay paste thing sounds like something cool to try. And I always have to laugh because you've been posting new videos right when I'm about to start studying and I'm always like, well what's another 15 min delay lol - at least I'm still "learning" while I watch : )

      It's true, I'm not sure I've ever seen a green/natural/non-toxic dental care RUclips video? That was why I was so excited when I stumbled on the LL self-dentistry info years ago, because it doesn't seem to get talked about much. I had a retainer as a kid, I had a bad overbite - so I kinda feel your pain! Oralive is great, let me know if you end up getting it and liking it. I definitely *feel* like it's fortifying my being, on like a hippie new age vibrational level. And I procrastinate CONSTANTLY with watching RUclips videos so right there with you. But yes, all in the name of learning! xo bella

      The tongue scraping?! Haha. I made the clip short! Yeah oil pulling is super weird at first, having all that oil in your mouth. I find it impossible to do for 15+ minutes but I think even a shorter amount of time might be beneficial.

    tongue scraping improves the digestion also improves recovery from colds/flu, i have seen a huge difference when i tongue scrape regularly. I was able to reduce the film on my tongue significantly with oil pulling (coconut oil).. and i have seen a difference in gum bleeding when i floss and oil pull regularly. Have you thought that maybe the Oralive might be contributing to the whitening effect moreso than the tooth whitening mouthwash? I have used some clays as well as charcoal and tumeric, all of which have been effective whiteners, along with sea salt/baking soda.. Love your videos - old and new! !

    That's so funny about your fam!
    I can't find any about breastfeeding and moms dental health but it seems really common among moms. Maybe the kids sucks all the calcium from us or we just have less time to brush out teeth :) But it really is a gift to your baby so it's worth it.
    Have you ever come across an article that gives evidence oil pulling does detoxify? Has that oil ever been analyzed? I'm a big nerd that way. I'm starting to think all that swishing really just stimulates the gums and maybe gives you a good face workout.
    On another note, totally unrelated, you might like the Honest Company body oil. Just picked it up for myself and the baby and it is cheap, organic and pretty much unscented. You could easily add a few drops of an essential oil to it. I also received a small sample from Integrity a beauty of the One Love Rose body oil that was really lovely and didn't cost a fortune. Some options for when your Bija runs out!
    Sorry for the rambling!

    • @lamouretlamusique
      @lamouretlamusique  9 лет назад

      You may have just read my mind because I just took a shower and a little part of me dies every time I put on what's left of my BijaBody stash! Slightly melodramatic but honestly I'm so upset! Thanks so much for your recs - I'll check out the Honest Co. one! I've tried samples of all the One Love Organics body oils and my favorite was the Gardenia one...actually thanks or jogging my memory, that might not be a bad replacement! I can't remember if it was just limited edition or ever made it into their permanent collection though. Regarding your other question, I haven't come across any "rigorous" research demonstrating that oil pulling is detoxifying in any way, but it seems that people who love it really swear by it. I think it might be an ayurvedic practice too? I'm not sure though. Anyhow, I'm kind of skeptical, as it sounds like you might be. I may try and do like a month of oil pulling and see how it goes to test for myself? Thanks for your message, ramble to me anytime

    I think I had one cavity my entire childhood, but I randomly started having issues with tooth decay/cavities in my early 20's. I ended up getting rid of glycerin in all my oral hygiene products a couple years ago and haven't had a single problem since! So I definitely give some credit to the whole glycerin/tooth remineralization theory. But, can I just bemoan how difficult it is to find products that are glycerin free for a minute?! I generally use Earthpaste, but I thought I'd switch it up and out of literally 20+ brands of toothpaste at the health food store last week, there was just Earthpaste and Living Libations sans glycerin. I haven't tried the LL - I might in the future, but the $16 price tag (for a tiny 0.5 oz pot!) always gets me. What can I say, toothpaste does not inspire me to splurge :)

    • @lamouretlamusique
      @lamouretlamusique  9 лет назад

      Interesting, yes I was noticing that even all the "green" toothpastes still have glycerin in them? And carageenen? That's something I try and avoid in food so kind of annoyed to realize it's in toothpastes as well. I've been curious about Earthpaste but remember hearing some kind of controversy about it last year...but can't remember what. Are you familiar with this? Maybe I'll have to tack the LL toothpaste onto my upcoming order...but yeah I'd obviously rather spend the money on new lipstick :) Thanks for watching, and for your comment, xoxo!

    • @NaturallaBeauty
      @NaturallaBeauty 9 лет назад

      l'amour et la musique I think the whole glycerin thing has become more widely talked about fairly recently, so hopefully we'll see more brands without it in the future! And without carageenen too.
      Yes! I remember the Earthpaste controversy. They started printing boxes with the California Prop. 65 warning due to the natural lead content of the clay. I know a lot of people stopped using Earthpaste at that point, but the company has been very transparent about how much lead is actually present (less than in spinach and other foods) so I'm not overly concerned.

    • @lamouretlamusique

    I think my next toothpaste will be Earthpaste after seeing your convo with Caitie. (I'm annoyed with carrageenan as well! Only Trader Joe's almond milk doesn't contain it, thank goodness.) I will continue to try oil pulling and see if I get any visible results. Do you know of anything that will help with sensitive + soft enamel teeth >> my husband, lol.

    • @lamouretlamusique
      @lamouretlamusique  9 лет назад

      Me too, I'm gonna get some Earthpaste. It's SO hard to find carageenen free non-dairy milks! I drink organic whole milk but also like to have an alternative around too - the Living Harvest Hemp Milk Original is carageenen-free I believe...I actually just filmed a little whole foods grocery haul where I mention this. Regarding sensitive teeth, I'd first and foremost recommend a Sonicare with sensitive brush heads, and it does seem like oil pulling has helped people with sensitivity so maybe he'd be willing to try that? Even just starting with 5 minutes or something. xoxo beautiful!

    Holistic dentist assistant response: "really not a lot of glycerin and glycerin is not a big concern because we ask everyone to use baking soda a few times a week to brush their teeth and that would remove any glycerin." Is it the Extra strength Oralive Dental Elixir or the regular? I just got into your videos (as per Sam aka LipstickLady518), and found this video very intriguing. I am a firm firm believer of Dr. Tungs toungue scraper thingamajing but the paste I am really interested in! But I don't see any on their site that have the same packaging as the one you mentioned.....help! You seem really awesome by the way!

      @lamouretlamusique  9 лет назад

      Welcome, really glad to have you here! So I just have the regular strength oralive because I have generally really good teeth that aren't prone to decay. I just got on the site and it looks like they changed the packaging slightly but I just have the 5oz size of the regular strength. It seemed more economical than the smaller size, for only $14 more. You know the amazingness that is Dr. Tung's! I actually just had a cleaning last week and they said I had very little plaque and no tartar - so the combo of sonicare+dr. tung's products+oralive seems to really work. xoxo.

    Great video! You are so lucky you have never had a cavity! I am a child of 80s and think genes and early nutrition has a lot to do with it. My teeth are ok now in my 30s but are not great.
    And yes fluoride is (sadly) still a thing with babies. In water for making bottles and in formula, but we did avoid it. ( can we please get this poison out of our water please?!)
    Luckily my kiddo now has cod liver oil and clay toothpaste and better nutrition so hopefully she has a better start.
    I wish someone told me that breastfeeding KILLS your teeth. I have really been on the dental care train, upped my nutrition and oil pulling and I can see some decay. :( I'm going to a more holistic dentist next week but I am still super freaked out because in the past it is drilldrilldrill.
    I have to check out LL site! Good find, thanks!

      I know right? I think it's kind of rare to not have cavities? My mom never did either, and to this day she's only ever had one tiny cavity that she got in like her 50s or something. My Dad on other hand had HORRIBLE teeth, like a mouth full of crowns and fillings. Thankfully both my sister and I got my mom's strong teeth, though my sister has had cavities. Which points to my theory that first children tend to be healthiest and most robust! Haha. I torment my little sister with this. Joking aside, I LOVE that you're giving your little one cod liver oil and clay toothpaste! Gosh I wish I had that stuff as a kid - live and learn though, don't we. I wasn't aware that breastfeeding had any impact on teeth?? This is news to me. I haven't had children yet so I'm curious to hear more as I obviously will be an avid breastfeeder I'm sure. Thanks so much for your lovely comment! xoxo.

      Children of the 80s really have paid the price. Poor education from parents, not going to the dentist regularly, the birth of sugary foods and sweets. Teeth hygiene should be taught in school as part of PE.

    Love your videos! Wondering which toothpaste are you using now? Does it last long in keeping your mouth fresh?
    Was using earthpaste and xyliwhite but my mouth doesn't seem to 'feel fresh' for my long days.

      I'm obsessed with David's Natural Toothpaste - definitely long-lasting freshness!

    Is your routine still the same? I was wondering what are the differences between the holistic science co two tooth pastes that you've noticed that would make you like one over the other. Also are you still using the mouth wash listed in the video or did you switch to HSC mouth wash.

      @lamouretlamusique  8 лет назад

      Yes, it's basically the same! Only addition would be a few mornings a week I oil pull with organic coconut oil. I prefer the CoQ10 toothpaste slightly over the charcoal but like both. Using same mouthwash :)

      I haven't, I wasn't aware he made one. I do know of him, though. Have you tried his toothpaste, and if so how is it? xo.

      The best toothpaste I have ever tried! Great ingredients, foams nicely, contains no glycerin. I highly recommend it. I'm on my fifth tube already! I'm a new subscriber, heard about your channel from makeupTIA here on YT, and been loving your videos very much! Lots of love from Croatia!

      torrey26 Oh wow, what a rave! I'll definitely keep this on my radar. I just ordered Earthpaste from Vitacost, so we'll see how that goes. But Dr. Mercola's sounds like an all-around winner. Thanks for the suggestion! xo
