Turn on the camera i.e Canon dslr
You need to go to the shooting options for the dslr ....note any camera shoots pictures and videos and these are at different knobs ....So, adjust the knob to the shooting video mode
Now , go to the menu and here amidst different options go to the shooting options ( these options are the one that govern the video recording )
Go to audio options i.e means the audio settings for shooting videos ...
Turn the audio setting on to manual ....enable attenuator else it picks up a lot of noise and set the levels of audio that suits you ...usually 100 % would attract some noise ...at around 75 - 80 % sound with the attenuator enabled is the perfect setting
That should be it!

I couldn't get it!
I used my boya mic without a problem 3 times and now I see this mic off symbol with 3 rings. I couldn't find a solution, I cannot get any sound from my mic :/ please help me!

Just add a video on how to make idea network strong 😉
To be honest , if signal strength is good , technically this can be done by just configuring access point network and playing around with VPN to use the most optimised server ( singapore /US etc etc....for me it was singaporean server ) based on trial and error to see which one works best ) ...have shown it for certain carrier ( jio) and the steps remain pretty much the same whether be it airtel , idea, vodafone etc ...one should only know the correct APN and play around with different servers using VPN ....have a great day ahead

That's because boya mic is a "trrs" mic and the audio input on canon needs a 3.5 mm "trs" mic. Change the mic to "trs" or get a "trrs to trs" adapter . Even this guy made the same goof up. He used the trrs mic
After inserting the microphone, the camera is not picking my audio? Though it is showing on the screen of camera that microphone is connected..

That's strange ....I will need to research this ....I faintly recollect this happening .....just check whether in the microphone the option is correctly selected to camera .....( try turning it on to smartphone if camera is not working .... also replace batteries inside the microphone ( dead batteries will not allow recording to happen ) ...... can you try restarting the camera once ....

Microphone is CSLM20B. I am connecting it with Canon 200D.

Does this camera support USB mic?
no ...3.5mm microphone port is there... no dslr( as far as I know ) supports usb mike
