It's finally happened. I made it through my whole life not behaving like a fangirl over some celebrity and now I'm telling anyone who will stand still that they've GOT to check out Michael on the Pacific Northwest Weather Watch. I need a car decal, ASAP.
i've lived in Salem, OR since 1993 and I'm trying to figure out what the hell happened to our climate. Especially in the last 10 years! Idk if global warming is mainly or if we are just in a warm cycle. Last big snow storm I remember was February 2014, but much less widespread valley snow storms. By that I mean big snow storms across all of the willamette valley, NOT just Portland! I don't want to hear any bull either about how 'winter is over' or 'overdue for mild and dry'. NO we are not!!!
Low elevation snow is fun, yes. It’s the regular repeating aftermath that triggers: long power outages, thawing freezers, the inevitable warm up and flooding that follows. It’s no fun after the snow melts.
What happened to winter? We here in the southern interior have lakes with no ice, and people are still harvesting carrots and lettuce in Kamloops. We have no seen the sun here in the North Thompson for more than an hour or two since October. I wakes up in the mornin' and it is minus one, and when I gets into bed in the evenin' it is plus one outside the door. Our climate has flipped from Cold Continental to Hyper Maritime based on the Koppen classification of world climates, plus it is so humid and foggy. The RH is often at 100%, with no wind (we had one evening with a slight breeze). Obviously the mid latitude trophospheric jet stream is forcing a lot of advected moist and relatively warm air far into the interior of BC. We are 200 kms from the Chuck. Normally it is between - 4 and -11 Celsius here, and were at fall like temperatures.
I've wanted to get one of those Tempest weather stations but just as I was about to hit purchase I discovered it doesn't work below -21c and here in central BC it often gets colder than that. I hope they are able to update it to make it work for cold climates some day.
@@johnhooft5091 its not nearly as a good as a normal la nina winter, we keep getting warm ups. without the warming events we'd probably have 4-5 more feet of snow on the ground at crystal
This is acting like a neutral year. Doubt it will snow. Lots of high pressure near our coast or inland. Runs keep pushIng everything back. Cold looks to stay east of the Rockies.
I now think with the weak La Niña, there’s no chance of any snow here in the lowlands, however, maybe in February? Not holding my breath for an Arctic blast. Hey, don’t forget global warming.😉
Call me blasphemous, but after the extreme cold records we’ve been breaking the last three years, that arctic air can stay firmly on the other side of the mountains this year. I lost over 10 grand in plants last January 😢
@@judytaylor1620 Because a winter without SOME snow is depressing. If we have to suffer a damp & dreary season we can at least have a day or two of snowmen & sledding. ❄️☃️⛄❄️

You're not alone. My wife has finally lost that battle as well. She wants a sweatshirt with his logo on the front and info on the back.😂

They manipulate our weather for real 😟

Good morning colder weather is coming and snow hopefully
Thank you Michael Snyder!! My Every day dose of brain waves over the airways. 🎉
We don’t need snow, keep it in the mountains. Some of us have adulting to do and snow doesn’t help us.
Root for or against it as you wish

Firsties!!! Thanks Michael!!
It’s weirdly exciting, right?
For those missing snow, I am giving all my snow away for free. Come and get all you want. There is lots.
I’m guessing start on driveway and then walkways 😂
Need more Sun ☀️
You got enough sun in the summer. bring on THE SNOW ❄️
Like to hear you say that when we get another summer with wildfires and 100 degree days. LOL!
active east wind here again at mouth of Gorge in Washougal.
Mike, hope all is safe .
Thanks Michael!
NWT & Alberta can keep that arctic air!
I am content with the snow in the mountains 😊
sigh. La Nina is never going to show up and give us the good ski season we were looking forward to
Idk ski season in PNW has been great so far. Oregon, Washington, and BC have all solid snow packs

Has winter been cancelled this year?
Perfect time to heal up from the car wreck level damage early season skiing causes 😂

I pray for snow... I hope we actually get something good this season here in Olympia. The last 2 years have been very sub par. Snowmageddon please
Well, my chickens will be pleased with the drier weather! 😆

No arctic air good news.

I'm with you, Adam!
The models took away any hopes of snow and cold through the 23rd anyway.. i figured that would happen .. 😢😢lol
Thank you
WHY are you so hopeful for Arctic Air?
@@judytaylor1620 Because a winter without SOME snow is depressing. If we have to suffer a damp & dreary season we can at least have a day or two of snowmen & sledding. ❄️☃️⛄❄️
Because it helps with killing of certain insects for starters.

Because that’s what my carbon tax is paying for (I live in Canada)
Why are you so hopeful for a mild and dry winter? Oh wait it's already happened! LOL! Your opinion adds NOTHING useful!
