We use to go twice a year, almost every year for about four days each trip. Since prices for EVERYTHING have increased SO much for everything from passes, hotels, food, and souvenirs… PLUS charging for Genie Plus! We haven’t gone even ONCE in four years!! It’s just SO expensive!! You could literally go on a cruise or fly somewhere for less than three days at Disneyland and California Adventure. It’s very sad cause we LOVE Disneyland but just can’t justify spending THOUSANDS for a few days there. They have priced out the very people who made them a success. Sad. We miss the Disney magic.

This is so true. My 24 year old son who recently graduated from college in SoCal and I went a couple weeks ago on a Sunday (my wife refuses to go anymore because Disney greed) to meet up with a couple of family members, and for just the two of us for 1-day Park Hoppers, Genie+, a couple of Lightning Lanes and modest sit-down lunch & dinner it was a $1000 day. The circular couches were not used and areas that use to hold table and chairs for families to gather are now just spaces for people to avoid unless you're willing to pay the extra money. So, last week we were looking to instead take a trip out to Southern California and stay at the Disneyland resort. Still extremely pricey, but as long as there are people in the park, Disney will continue to increase the prices. They’re trying to rapidly make up for the mega-loss from the recent pandemic, but they’re not increasing their entertainment offerings. As an adult it got less, every few years.
Last time I went it had been a 7 year gap between visits.
Now, I don’t think I’ll be able to save enough to go back over the next decade if ever again.
I’m so thankful for Fresh Baked, Ordinary Adventures, Provost Park Pass, Super Enthused and the Tim Tracker for allowing me to experience the parks secondhand here on RUclips.
And I want to add, across the Disney brand (and almost all entertainment brands right now) there is demand, but everything is just so expensive now that people have to make serious choices about where they spend their money. We’re seeing this at the parks, at the box office, with sales of products and streaming subscriptions.

we traveled annually, at least once a year..sometimes twice, to Disneyland from out of state for YEARS prior to the pandemic. But the last two trips following were AWFUL..so much so that I had a full blown panic attack in DCA. The crowds are absolutely insane, cast members are rarely happy to be there anymore, and the prices & wait times are just plain stupid. You legitimately don't have space to breathe at Disneyland...and for a high priced vacation, people expect to be treated above and beyond and relax and enjoy..at Disneyland you're paying luxury prices but you get herded like cattle, shuffled between strollers & wheelchairs, and told what you can't have all day. No reservations to be had anywhere unless months in advance and getting up extra early to stalk the computer for a CHANCE to get them..then you've got to be on glued to your phone all day on their app. For the same price for a family of 4, we have found so many other vacations to be 1000x more enjoyable. Even other theme parks that we switched to like Legoland and Universal...we thoroughly enjoy so much more nowadays. It's expensive, but VIP at Universal is so worth it, and unlike Disney's VIP prices, it's actually attainable if you want to budget for it. It's not just for the elite. Legoland has a whole water park & their hotels are fabulous and priced at a fraction of the cost of the cheapest Disneyland hotel...PLUS your tickets & full breakfast buffet are included. I wish I hadn't become a "hater". I used to be a castmember...loved all things Disney..but now it feels like so much magic has rubbed off and I truly don't think it will come back.

Last time I went I spent $1000-$1100 both parks. Nothing crazy spending just a simple day at Disney and I was like “damn I don’t think I’ll be coming soon” 😂 I just went to universal with tickets & food it was $400 ish & Knotts was cheaper with amazing tasting food & good portion. So yes Disney is way over pricing

Is Disney overpriced, or do they charge more for a premium product? You can’t tell me that you think Knott’s and Disneyland are similar quality products, in any way.

@@RyanH-qh8qt Well after my hostile takeover it will change. I will reduce ticket prices to under $100 as part of my plans to Make Disney Great Again and be the Trump it needs.

Our trip in May for 4 adults tickets and average hotel stay for 5 nights, driving from AZ, 3200.00, before food and extras!

Yep, and because people keep going back and paying the prices, there is no reason for Disney to not keep increasing prices.
I’m glad you simply mentioned the cost without complaining. People who complain but keep going confuse me. LOL

Yes!! It’s crazy!! You can literally go on a cruise or fly somewhere for less that a few days at Disneyland and DCA. And you add in the cost food, hotels, Genie Plus… up charges to get on rides, parking. $$$ It’s gotten SO expensive!!

Take this dip of crowds with a grain of salt, there was a popular event at the Anaheim Convention Center that raised the hotel prices nearby to a ridiculously high price. I was looking at the waits and as this video shows, that week was very mellow. I have noticed that crowds have returned to normal levels, but not the kid ticket levels earlier this month.

I remember when all the cues used to be inside the buildings... Disneyland needs to build more parks because they are just too freaking full. You pay all that money and then you stand in line all day and get to ride three rides

We love this place but since Covid it's hard to get tickets for military discount. Just because you have to go to the park and get them there at the gate. The bases are not carrying them all the time because no one really buys them. So it's harder to go now

Benefits of living in California. We are 5 hours away and although expensive, we can get away with a day trip or one night stay. No cost of flights.

They did open up single day at about 11:30, so sometimes just check back and you can do same day reservations. I have been noticing this alot lately. Same thing happened on Saturday and Sunday.

Yep. Got same day reservations (after dinner with friends) on Monday. It’s absolutely possible to get same day reservations.
