Heard Jimmy's story, his family and friends on radio today. He sacrificed his life trying to save the life of a distressed 21 year old lad. It's just heartbreaking. It shows how much we neglect the people in our society that really need our help, love and support. No point running a multi-billion euro surplus if the important tenets of our humanity are ignored. Very well done Paul for highlighting his story, I'm sure it will be a bit of comfort for his family. Next time you disdainfully ignore a person like Jimmy on the street, just remember this legend, this fantastic brave human being, this gentle soul, and think again. He's a huge loss to our society.
What a wonderful and deserving tribute to Jimmy, thank you friend 🙏💚
R.i.p jimmy ❤

As a Scouser, Liverpool and Dublin are dubbed "Twin Cities". We're only 20 minutes away from eachother via a flight. It breaks my heart to see people like this. A lot of people in my home town are caught up in the cycle of heroin and all the misery it brings, too 😢.
Rest eternally, Jim. No more sickness or sorrow now 🙏🏻✨
Thank u bro
@@KoldTurkey I'm a woman, but it's ok, no worries 🙏🏻

Sir Jimmy, Rest in Peace :(
Lovely man, he used to tap outside my job. Was very mannerly & grateful for every cup of tea and food he was given. My partner gave him some new shoes and his face light up with appreciation, we seen him a few days later and he was waving across the road showing off the shoes😊 Gentleman, I hope one day he gets his life together please god🤞🏻
You need to hear today’s Liveline on RTe Radio today. About Jimmy.
Jimmy drowned Easter weekend trying to save someone who jumped into the Liffey. Tragic 💔💔💔
I heard the sad news about Jimmy today, Monday 24/04/‘23 on the Joe Duffy Rte radio show. I think Jimmy may have shared some friendly conversation with my late mother every Saturday evening outside M&S, Grafton St. I met him with my mother once and he had a sleeping bag draped over his shoulders. I’d say that he was about 5’10” of slim build. My mother told me that he was very nice and she liked to meet him. The year was about 2015. If this sounds like Jimmy, I’d like to think they’ll meet again in better circumstances in an afterlife. My condolences to Jimmy’s family and friends and to those of the man whose life Jimmy so valiantly tried to save.
He sounds such a nice man no wonder those that knew him cared so much ❤ He showed insight too into his addiction! Well Jimmy you died trying to save another who you never knew! That Says Everything About your Heart and Spirit.. R.I.P.. Jimmy sincere condolences to all who loved you & miss you … I shed a tear for you today & I hadn’t seen this.. Thoughtful Brilliant Interview! I’m sure you are in the arms of the Angels sweet gentleman 🙏
I knew jimmy well from town. He was a lovely fella. Only chatting to him a few weeks ago. Very sad news. RIP
RIP Jimmy - a hero - and the other man who unfortunately drowned in tragic circumstances. I don’t know why the media didn’t cover this when it happened but liveline are covering it now
People should see this video. I wish this gentleman good health.
Jimmy drowned Easter weekend. He tried to save a young lad age 21 who was distraught and jumped in the Liffey. Jimmy without hesitation jumped in to save him and tragically they both drowned. RIP Jimmy you’re a national hero.
Very sad to hear Jimmy passed. I knew him a long time. Not a bad bone in his body. Always tapped away to him gave him a few bob
He was a lovely gentle soul, thank you bro

Another man's story fairplay Pauly
RIP Jimmy, poor man had huge struggles, decent chap.
Decent to his core, even within his struggle 🙏
AHH godlove h it's a hopeless situation with two addicts in addiction and homeless hopefully god intetviens and they put the footwork in
Maybe move out of Dublin, houses in the west of Ireland are cheaper and maybe a better chance of getting a place outside of Dublin and away from the temptations of the drugs and away from others doing drugs, people don’t have to stay in Dublin to get their methadone they can get it of the GP’s. Very best of luck to you and thank you Pauly for highlighting life’s challenges and reality’s, life is not a bed of roses for everyone, life should be fair and we should all be able to enjoy life and not just sit on the sidelines and watch others live. Best of luck to you all 🙏🙏🙏
Jimmy stay positive 🙏 I know it's hard mate but you want to do it and you can, pauly it's great you are back out and about keep the good work up your an inspiration 👍I just watched the video again jimmy you are so honest and sincere I really hope and pray that your dreams come true, you served in the forces for your country for 4 years now it's time your country done something for you, go for it jimmy rooting for you mate 🙏👌

I feel for the long term partner that he mentions here, and the kids. RIP Jimmy
Youl get there bud.💪
R I p bro
I actually grew up with Jimmy. Crazy to see this and how much the gear had effected him. I Could have easily went down that road myself. It all changed in the blink of an eye for him. He had a good job, nice car and couple month later he was gone to London and came back a year or so later completely strung out. So so sad! Thanks for uploading.
Thanks for sharing bro..
Used to chat to him in Thomas St SWLO back in the day. Saw him again years later sitting outside the local Spar, earlier this year. Chatted to him again. Still remembered me. Nice chap. Genuine. Just made some bad choices. Wondered why I hadn't seen him again in months. Just read the sad news today of him being awarded a posthumous award. RIP Jimmy. Your act of bravery will be rewarded in the hereafter.
100% bro
My sincerest condolences to the partner of this man.. I hope you find strength x
Your right Marvin...the poor girl must be lost in all of this...bless her heart
Rip Jimmy
So sad, lovely guy, rest in peace 🙏 ❤️
Delighted to find ur channel, it was needed to highlight whats going on in this country & to give.these souls a voice, ive followed soft white underbelly and a few more for a long time now, u are doing an amazing job Paulie, fair play to you, god bless all these pll 😢❤
Thank you for the kind words and support Lisa
What a lovely man bless him so sad
I'm along time subscriber.
It's great to show people that homeless people, drug addicts, have the same hopes and dreams as us all, the stigma around drugs is shocking considering the countries live affair with a dangerous socially acceptable DRUG alcohol !! IV watched people drink themselves to death from addiction to alcohol. Long time heroin users should be supplied with heroin instead of methadone, how come we can find 800K for Ukraine pets, instead of using it to hell people like Jimmy... RIP I din't know you but you spoke so eloquently and honestly about your situation and you still had dreams to fulfill. Condolences to family and friends
Thanks!
Wow Gregg thats very kind of you.. thank you for suporting the channel .. I shall certainly pass the blessings on.. 🙏💚🙏
@KoldTurkey I hope to make it to your town. It would be a high light to get to meet Pauly Tracy. I could tell you, american homeless stories. Like how the homeless man I gave a ride started smoking crack inside the car or the one I was friends with who would help prepare dinner and sing Broadway show tunes. He paid me back with his artwork. This was 34 years ago. He lived 25 years this way. A cool, complex sidewalk Buddha with schizophrenia. I remember holding him when he had a major breakdown one night and brought him home. Barry 1989 San Francisco. Barry La blanc , They've created a web page in his honor. Indeed legend ❤️
@@greggbelt9387 sure thing bro. Im guessing your from the states?
@KoldTurkey yes, Washington state , pacific coast.
@@greggbelt9387 if you manage to get here just let me know and ill have a coffee with ya bro
Poor man. Very few people get off drugs on their own. They need help, proper help and unfortunately that is very hard to come by in Ireland. Condolences to his family and his partner. I hope she has support because this could really send her in a downward spiral.
Yes God bless her and thank you for thinking of the poor woman🙏💚
My drug is drink and believe me it's hell
In some ways, drink is the worst drug of all, because it is all around, all the time. Take care of yourself
Get of it them go on detox tablets clean your liver n kidneys start drinking cranberry you b over booze no time
I hear so many say they just want normality and to get fixed up but very, very few do.
Good seed dont grow on a barren ground
Oh god, I hate addiction it takes your soul and everyone else around you .
Paulie sorry but would you consider taking the montery ads off this sad case
I hear you friend...the problem is if i de-monitize the video, it will be not be recomended by youtube, and will not get the same exposure. I do this to put stories out there and as it stands i put far more money into building my platform than i make from the work i do. So its not viable for me to de-monotize.
@@KoldTurkey I am sorry just don't know how RUclips works no offence
@@mo6278 no worries...youtube is an algorythm run by computers and are all about ads and promoting videos only when its in its own interest. Thats why people usually always say , hit the like comment and share, subscribe, put on notification bell ect, all that shows engagment and helps the videos get out there.
Needing €500 to service the habit is terrible pressure to be under on the daily. 26,000 euro a year.
Bad math but i get ir point bro 🙃
Its so easy to become desensitised to this when you live and work in Dublin. You buy a homeless addict a sandwich or tea but you know it doesn't help them much. Us humans are so vulnerable. It can happen to any of us.
Well Sadie, I think it helps them, just by you being kind to them..they feel recognised, but you are right it dosent change their situtation much at all..however it can change how they feel at that moment and sometimes thats as important.
What happened to Jimmy?
