Excitement and stress are the same sort of feeling. It's easier to bend stress into excitement than to bend it to relaxation.. I actually already knew that but never thought about it.

  • @ingridl8894

I kind of see how this could work. Instead of trying surpress the anxious energy, and using extra mental energy on that, you let it out and attempt to use it for your advantage. In public speaking it might even make seem a bit more lively. :)

That's because if a person is nervous or anxious, their mind will usually reject a statement like "I am calm". Which is perceived as the opposite. But the mind can more readily accept "I am excited". Especially if you look for possible reasons to be excited.

When we get anxious our body produces more adrenaline and cortisol. In large amounts these chemicals can make us feel even more anxious because they wind us up. So, we can come to associate the feeling of these chemicals with anxiety. They are also produced naturally when we need to do something that requires a lot of energy like walking on stage performing. What do we do when that happens? We use up the energy and we burn those chemicals off. So with anxiety is best to trick ourselves that we are about to do something exciting. And rather than sit down trying to relax, it's better to work it off.

***** yes i can totally see your rage, it is indeed sad, that comments of such nature become a natural law as soon as a woman appears, and yet that kind of idealism is wrong here.
first: dnews is not really THE source to be treated with journalistic/scientific (or whatever) respect
second: this is mainstream media. as i said, most of these comments will emerge out of their own dynamic, which is not horniness or plain disrespect. most of them dont even mean shit - there was a opportunity and it was seized
cant believe i just typed an essay on a dick-joke

I would still have mental scenarios but most of which was a positive out look of a possible outcomes.
