    Super helpful to think about the bike as a whole system. Thanks for the video!

    Loving my Izzo - had it three years and as a serial bike changer I’m always on the lookout for my next ride… but I keep having to ask myself what I’ll gain. It handles everything I throw at it and more. Very happy.

    Thanks for the good content. I bought a new bike a while ago, I went down a size this time. I don't think I regret my decision. My previous bike was a commencal and rad+++++😅

    This video definitely didn’t help me get rid off the thought that I need IZZO :))
    But I remind myself that for riding max twice a week it doesn’t make sense to have more than one MTB (and a wife 😁).
    However, what I’m rationally considering is SZEPTER. Tested it recently and was so surprised. I think that’s true road/gravel/commute bike for a mountain biker. Comfortable riding position, fast rolling, ability to ride singletracks if they appear in sight… It was hard to get back to my “normal” gravel bike afterwards. Have you tried one?
    Great content as always, wish your channel to grow! 🤝

      Thanks for the kind words! Definitely would recommend the Izzo, maybe one day that can become your one MTB! For the SZEPTER, I have not tried one yet but your analysis seems on point! Happy riding!

    Just a quick question, a recent pinkbike podcast titled "why we suck at mountain biking" had a comment on the post:
    "Relative to what? To Greg Minnaar - sure, relative to the average guy/gal, I think most of use are pretty darn good.There is a fine line between being great at something at feeling like it's your job - any serious racer can attest to this. I had a buddy say that the more you suck at something the more fun it is, everytime you go out it's exciting and an experience, taking sh!t to seriously is a great way to ruin any hobby!".
    I was just wondering that even at your skill level, do you enjoy the sport and have a good time each time your out riding? Or do you consider it more as a job and having to I guess "satisfy" your sponsors.

    • @PeterJamison
      @PeterJamison  Год назад +5

      Hey Aiden!
      Glad you like the content, and thank you for the thoughtful comment!
      For me, I am totally obsessed with riding my bike and my personal satisfaction/enjoyment comes from my progression on my bike. With that said, progression can be tough and less ‘traditionally’ fun at times (crashing, injury, etc.), however that feeling of progress is what makes me tick and is fun to me. Before riding was my job, and I worked as a filmmaker, I still treated riding this same way so I feel confident that my career shift has not impacted my outlook on the sport.
      Obviously there are times in which you need to ‘satisfy’ your sponsors, but in my case these things happen organically and commonly don’t make riding feel like a ‘job’.
      Hope this helps!

    Had my first bikepark session ever today & it was an absolute blast. My friends told me i did pretty well, clearing a good amount of jumps on the last rides of the day. I was riding on a rental 140mm enduro from trek. Now i want to start my journey of DH / Bikepark riding with my own bike and would only use it for that purpose (90%). Since my budget is a bit limited I'm not sure if i should go with the YT Tues Core 2 (DH) incl. a RockShox Boxxer 200mm or YT Capra (Enduro) with a Fox 38 Flow 170mm. I could get them at around the same price. What would be your weapon of choice for a beginner bikepark rider? Some friends told me i should go for the tues since it's easier to ride and more forgiving. Some other said the capra might be better bc it's more versatile and nimble, especially on the flow / freeride trails.

    • @PeterJamison
      @PeterJamison  Год назад +1

      Stoked to hear that! Glad you had a rad time! If I were you I would go with the Capra 100%! That bike will open up more riding opportunities for you (trail riding, enduro, etc.) and will be slightly less forgiving than the Tues which will shape you into a better ride over time. Hope this helps!

    • @Pphil321
      @Pphil321 Год назад +1

      Thank you so much for your reply! This sounds great and actually strengthens my opnion. I was drawn a bit more towards the capra out of the same reason you mentioned. Might not be as smooth as an actual DH bike but out of the same reason might be the better choice while learning / becoming a better rider! I guess the carpa is & will be more than capable of all im able to do and will be other the next year's and the 200mm DH might just be a bit overkill for that purpose. Keep going, your videos and riding are insane!@@PeterJamison
