  • It is January 2, 2024, and me and one of my buddies set out to catch any action we could on the Meridian Southern railway between Waynesboro and Meridian. We got the Northbound run with an ex Caney Fork and Western Railroad locomotive leading Long Hood Forward, which was awesome. Thanks for watching!
    Full Consist:
MDS 103 (ex Caney Fork and Western RR)
    MDS 4228 (ex ATSF)
    MDS 4000 (ex Dunn Roadbuilders)
    Camera Equipment:
    iPhone 13 Pro
    Canon 40d
    DJI Mini 2

Great Video of mixed Train with 3 Engines & different types of rail cars, very interesting line, seems like a lot of business in Waynesboro?
    Thanks for Sharing.
Any news on the Mississippi Southern Railroad?

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it! There is a decent amount of business in Waynesboro. I think most of the business in that area comes from Hood Industries and some other businesses by the airport south of town. We haven’t been over to see the Mississippi Southern in a little while.

What became of the Conrail engines? Are they still around?
